AMELIA:

I woke up to pain everywhere in my body, but it was nothing compared to what I had felt before passing out.

When I was calm and able to recall everything that happened last night between Dexter and I, my cheeks turned red a little,

I was meant to be shocked and to hate myself but maybe I didn’t. I had this feeling that I didn’t have to regret anything because instead, Dexter saved me from being raped by an unknown man,

But something felt different about me. Something that I couldn’t understand until I heard Diana in my head,

"We’re free." She muttered to me,

I raised my hand and touched the side of my neck, feeling a bump that wasn’t there before,

In a hurry, I rose to my feet and rushed towards the mirror, cocking my neck to one side,

I had been marked! I had been marked by Dexter. This had to be crazy. I chuckled aloud, wondering why Dexter would mark me. Did it mean that I meant something to him after all,

While in thought, I felt something hot and uncomfortable at the back of my shoulder and since I was naked, I turned around to watch the curse mark behind slowly fade away, leaving just a small scar on the spot and I couldn’t help but gasp,

This was incredible! It was unbelievable! I couldn’t control the feeling bubbling up inside of me as I was happy. I had hope. All the hope that I had lost suddenly came back rushing to me in full force,

My father had called this a curse mark. It was something that he had learned from my mother years ago when he met her and since I had it, according to my mother before I was born, I would die before I became an adult,

All I heard from my father while growing up was that I had to be accepted by my mate for the mark to fade,

But he never told me the exact cure to the mark was to be marked by my mate instead,

The tears at the base of my eyes ran down my cheek, and I couldn’t help it. I kept staring and the only person I could think about was Dexter,

I didn’t have to be scared of living the life that I had always dreamt about. Now I had so many years ahead of me to get whatever it was that I wanted,

To start a family and to experience real love,

Everything in me simply wanted to go look for Dexter, wrap my arms around his body without telling him what he had done,

I picked up a nightwear, put on my fluffy slippers, and began heading out of the room,

"Have you seen the Alpha?" I questioned a maid who was just walking in and as she lowered her head, she responded,

"In Ms Scarlett’s room. He’s soundly asleep and she notified everyone that the Alpha instructed not to be disturbed by anyone including his Luna."

My heart broke into multiple pieces the moment I heard those words,

I turned around and began heading toward Scarlett’s room and when I got closer, I found out that the door wasn’t fully closed,

I gently held the door knob and poked my head inside the room to have a peek, but I was completely shocked when I saw them asleep together on the same bed with his arms wrapped around her body.
