The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate -
Chapter 193 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Chloe POV
Cortina and the vision around us swirled into a dizzying blur, and then disappeared as the tacky bedroom reappeared. Cortina groaned as her consciousness joined with mine again. Time was still stopped, Mr. Smith, or Asmodeus, whatever the fuck his name was, was kneeling in front of me, just like he was before Cortina broke free.
I blinked, shaking my head slightly to clear the fog from the magic-induced dream-like state. As my powers settled inside of me, the world turned on its axis again and time resumed. "Breed with me, my goddess, and fulfill my destiny."
"What?" I leaned back, confused and disgusted by Mr. Smith's request. Then I remembered the bullshit he was spewing before Cortina showed me the truth.
"You saw it yourself," Mr. Smith continued on, unaware of all I knew. "You saw how we were meant to be."
He leaned closer, brushing his fingers over my nape, dark eyes tightening at my mate marks. Cortina snarled loudly in my head at his close proximity. My skin felt cold from his touch, and I had to concentrate on keeping my magic centered, so he would remain unaware. "Once we get rid of these, we can resume how we were meant to be."
"Meant to be?" I scoffed, pushing his hand away from me. "If we were meant to be anything, fate would have destined it. We're not meant to be anything."
"Chloé," he sighed. "Gods choose their own fates. We were never meant to be tied down by the mortalities of meager men." His eyes flashed to my neck again.
Cortina growled menacingly, her inner dialogue mirroring my thoughts. My mates were anything but 'meager men.
"How were we meant to be?" I asked through gritted teeth. The heat in my chest was burning with my anger, and I knew I was about to blow.
Mr. Smith's smile turned up, like my brewing rage meant nothing to him. "Standing atop this nugatory world as its king and you, my dear," his hands gripping my knees tightly. "You were meant to stand right below me, as the mother of the new earth we shall create together." My nose lifted arrogantly. "I stand below no one."
Cortina suddenly pushed forward, shifting into her magnificent terror. Mr. Smith's eyes went wide, and he scarcely rolled out of the way before Cortina's snarling jaws closed around his face.
The room was far too small for Cortina's rage as she went after Mr. Smith again. Furniture was crumpling like dried leaves under her paws.
"STOP!" his deep voice came in thunderous echoes, vibrating the walls of the shuddering space. "STOP!"
A thick black fog was filtering from his hands, one still tightly gripping his cane. The cane came to life with his commanding voice, but he had no effect on Cortina. She was enraptured in our own magic, thick and divine. Any attempt he made to overtake her with his sheer power was trumped by our purple hues of heat. The very breath expelling from Cortina's snout was a deep violet and thick with power.
Mr. Smith's face darkened, his eyes emitting an eerie glow. His back was against the door and Cortina adjusted to strike again, righting her paw on top of the shard of what used to be the bed. His snake cane slithered its way up his arm, wrapping entirely around his neck before sinking into his darkened skin. Its scales blended into him, spreading from the neck up his face and down his chest, melting his clothes off his body as his body began to grow.
Right as Cortina lunged again, Mr. Smith's body imploded, and the giant black snake from the visions emerged.
The door shot off its hinges, flying backward into the concrete wall. Our ominous snarls and hissing shook the entire structure. Cortina lunged for the snake again, and was met with a violent whip of his tail, sending Cortina flying down the long, dark hallway.
The warriors of Fire Moon were scattering, yelling their retreat with horror-tinged bellows. Cortina paid no attention to the scattering wolves as they raced to get out of harm's way. She was focused on the slithering bastard before us.
His forked tongue licked the air as his neck curved and bobbed, measuring his next strike. Cortina had her hackles raised, stalking the snake in the tightly enclosed space without turning her back to him.
"Sss-stop this-ss!" The giant serpent hissed in a gravelly rasp. "You sss-saved me. This-sss is-sss your fate."
The threatening sound that reverberated in Cortina's chest caused the lagging warriors to scurry away faster. "My fate is with my mates," she surprised even me as the words left her snout, speaking as clear as me. "Yours is death," she roared then sprinted down the hall, magic burning in her paws with every fervent step.
The serpent hissed wildly, coiling and lunging his giant form towards her.
His mouth opened wide, exposing his foot-long fangs. A murky liquid was dripping from his jaws before black magic began pouring out of his mouth. It flooded the hallway, making it hard to see.
Then Cortina opened her mouth wide, the fire building in her chest before spewing forward. She used our magic to burn through his, melting it to the ground in sizzling pools like black and violet lava.
Cortina's jaws met the serpent, closing on his bottom jaw and ripping it off with a sickening twist. He roared and coiled tightly, retreating back from the pain.
Cortina circled around again, but right as she was getting ready to strike, the severed bottom jaw of Mr. Smith bubbled and broke apart into tiny pieces. Hundreds of tiny snakes hissed and slithered on the bloodied ground, all coming from the giant serpent's flesh.
The tiny snakes slithered their way up Cortina's front paws, sinking their tiny fangs into her as they went. The teeth barely broke through her fur, but the ones that did manage to pierce her skin stung like a bitch, infecting her with micro-doses of his venom. It wasn't enough to sever Cortina and me from our magic, but it was enough to slow her down as Mr. Smith made an escape, his giant serpent body whipping hurriedly down the hall in the direction the warriors had retreated.
In a fit of rage, Cortina's entire body lit up in flames, burning the hundreds of attacking snakes into dust while leaving her unharmed.
Still blazing in violet flames, Cortina fought off the sluggish reaction to the venom and sprinted after Mr. Smith. The hallway dumped into a large open space, and I barely registered Jackson's lifeless body torn and broken on the bloody floor. There had already been a fight out here, and there was about to be another.
"Shit. The venom is making it hard to push out our magic," Cortina groaned, breathing heavily with exertion.
The fire surrounding her began to wane. She was struggling more than I first thought.
"Give me back control," I told her. "This is my battle too."
As our bones broke and shifted, Cortina's form receding into mine, we never lost focus on our target, slithering through a heavy open door to the outside. With Cortina inside me, our magic flowed from her to me. The venom dissipated as the furry in me grew, thinking of all my mates, my pack and my family had to endure because of this demon.
My anger fueled my magic. It felt limitless. I have never been more in tune with this side of me. It was like some part deep inside, so deep that I never knew it existed, had broken free along with Cortina from a darkness deep within. Something in me was making my magic magnified to new heights. It was like some deep-rooted instinct to protect myself.
My body was strong, and my will was stronger. I was a survivor, and a fighter. I always have been. But this was something more. Like I was fighting for more than myself. I was protecting more than myself. Instinct was taking over.
I knew how to make the magic boiling in my blood mold to my will. The entire earth felt connected to me. The wind, the ground, the moisture in the air, and even the currents of electricity kissing my sensitized skin felt like it was one with the power within me.
I felt invincible. Even the dark magic bleeding from the snake bastard parted as I passed through it, like it was cowering in my presence.
Was that why Mr. Smith was fleeing now? Did he sense this change in me?
As I emerged from the bunker into the small valley hidden in the trees, I held my hands above my head. The wind whipped around me at my command, my powers pulling it to obey. Mr. Smith was almost to the trees. With a flick of my wrist, a blast of wind threw him backward, his snake body coiling reflexively a few yards away.
"KAAA!"
He screamed around his managed jaw, then transformed back into his human appearance. No longer in his fitted suit, he looked like the man I saw in my vision. The man he was in ancient times.
The magic pouring out of him was trying to heal his jaw, but it was still badly damaged even in human form.
"How's your godly fate tasting right now?" I sneered, prowling around him.
"Y-you've awakened," he struggled to speak with his freshly healed tongue. "You're fully awakened."
He seemed to fear that fact. I laughed haughtily at his wide-eyed stare.
"You fear me," I stated, knowing it was true. "Is that why you never faced me head on? You always send others to do your dirty work."
The surprise on his face told me all I needed to know. I knew the truth, not the distorted visions he tried to feed me.
Even now, memories of past lives have begun to flint through my brain, showing me hundreds of other instances of Asmodeus trying to manipulate and corrupt others in his attempts to get to me.
It never worked. He failed every time.
I even saw visions that were not my own, but given to me by the deity powers I was created with in my original body. Visions of others he tried to exploit in order to create the world he envisioned. A world he could rule.
An Egyptian princess, born of the love Anubis had with a Pharaoh's sister, was taken by Asmodeus and abused for years in his attempts to have her conceive his children. She was born of the deity of death, so every one of her children was born to death. Anubis himself tried to avenge his daughter by killing Asmodeus, but the snake bastard somehow escaped death and went to plague a blooming Roman Empire with his own adulterous agenda.
History repeated itself over and over again with this demon, but he was never able to be killed. Not with the kiss from the goddess of life embedded in his soul.
I was the only one that could kill this bastard. I can see that now.
"You sent endless humans to try and capture me, because you knew. You knew I could kill you."
"You could never kill me," he huffed. He tried to stand up, but I sent a gust of wind to push him back down. He gritted his newly formed teeth, grimacing at me. "You saved me! You saved me for a purpose!"
"That purpose was never to release your evil upon this world." I lifted my chin, "You were a mistake."
"NO!"
"Death was calling you then."
"NO, CHLOÉ!"
"And death is waiting for you now."
"NO!" He was screaming, his spit spewing from his lips. "IT WAS DIFFERENT THIS TIME!"
"Nothing was different," I said in a dead calm.
"ONE MARK!" He was seething, not listening to me. "ONE MARK FROM A BEING OF MY CHOOSING AND YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN MINE!"
I scoffed quietly. "You got greedy. You rushed your plan in your desperate attempt to get to me sooner. I can not be marked when I already have my mates."
The disdain in his expression was laughable. I could see his plan now. He needed a werewolf pack to control me, and Cameron's pack was his last resort.
"Were you going to use Boyd? Or were you planning on having that broken Alpha mark me?"
Mr. Smith sneered at the question as I paced around him.
"What about Cameron? I stole his wolf," I continued on. "What if he couldn't mark me again without Rome there to aid him? Were you going to get someone like Jackson to mark me instead?"
He hissed, so I didn't think that was it. Then it dawned on me.
"You tried to manipulate memories of the past to get me to choose you, didn't you?" I laughed dryly. "Ha! Did you really think that would work? Your venom knocked out my magic for a little bit, so you thought I would willingly reject my mates and choose you instead. Is that it?" The arrogant lift of his fresh jaw told me I was spot on.
He was twisted. Because of some complex he gained from thousands of years ago when I healed an injured snake on a whim, he wanted me to choose him again.
A memory from my first life had my anger soaring again. The wind picked up, pinning him in place. He groaned and tried to fight it with his own ancient evil magic, but it was ineffective.
"My first death was because of you," I crouched down, so I was only a breath away from him. "I remember now. I remember all of it. Every creature that suffered because of your attempts to entrap me. Every life you took." I swallowed deeply as the painful memory of two gemini wolves dying at each other's hands in a feud instigated by this snake entered my head. Hey, it looks like you're reading a copied chapter! This book belongs to ni.. Don't settle for imitations-head over to nib. for the real content and latest updates. "They killed each other because of you," I said through gritted teeth. "My first true mates. You knew I would never entertain your twisted notions if you killed them, so you had them kill each other."
He didn't expect the heartache that would kill me in the end, losing my twin mates. They were the gemini sons of the moon goddess herself, and because of the loss, I was cursed to never rest until I made it right. Until I fixed my greatest mistake.
Yes, I have suffered many times over in all my lives, but this will be the last. My mates will never suffer again because of me.
"Mates are nothing to the gods!" He sneered.
"No," I laughed coldly. "Mates and fate are everything to them. Which is why they mean nothing to you." I leaned in and whispered menacingly, "You were never a god. You are nothing. Your fate is with the dirt, because you die today."
He roared loudly, his entire body turning black as his black magic overtook him. In a last attempt to escape my wrath, he lifted his hands, engulfing the entire field in scorching fire. Snakes by the hundreds came slithering furiously from the flames, coming right for me. As I laughed darkly, Mr. Smith got up from the ground and sprinted for the ring of fire. He wouldn't get far.
My laughter was swallowed in the sounds of the earth quaking. The ground split all around me, making the incoming attack sink to their death. Mr. Smith narrowly avoided falling into the endless abyss, stopping short as the ground broke in a thunderous roar in front of him. He whipped around, roaring wildly as he sent flume after flume of raging dark magic my way. I opened my hands welcoming each blow, letting it sizzle against the power of the magic seeping out of me.
In a frustrated rage, he half-shifted, his legs disappearing into a monstrous tail. He slithered madly towards me, but didn't make it far.
My power was at its peak. The earth rattled violently as purple crystals shot up from the ground beneath his tail. They liquefied and took shape around him. He screamed as it hardened, trapping him inside.
The thunder roared above my head as the wind lifted me into the sky. I felt the rage of the world, the rage of the gods and deities this demon had defiled over the span of his lifetime. With a rage that was not entirely my own, I sent bolts of lightning down to the ground, shattering the crystallized serpent into millions of shards.
The winds whipped and raged, a cyclone of the heavens pouring down from the sky. It lifted the millions of broken crystals into its funneling violence. With one last powerful blast of my powers, I sent the entire tornado ablaze, destroying the fragments of the snake within. He's gone.
Forever.
The feeling of invincibility came to an abrupt halt as the strain of the magic I expelled radiated throughout my body. I was beyond exhausted. I had no vitality left in me. Nothing to keep me focused. There was no strength in my body to stand on my own legs as the wind broke beneath me and I fell to the ground.
Mr. Smith was dead. I could rest. Just for a little bit. Nothing else bad could happen. Could it?
