The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate
Chapter 194 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate

Mick POV

"He's getting away!" I bellowed inside Rome.

"Not this time," Rome tossed a Fire Moon warrior off our back, then bolted for the retreating monster our mate's ex had become.

Rome was hurting, seeing the nightmare his former counterpart had become. I could feel the turmoil tearing him up, the compassion he felt for the bastard. I understood it. His love for our mate overshadowed everything, but there was a time that Rome loved his first human. His first human wasn't even human anymore. The Cameron he once held such high hopes for was replaced by the creature we were hunting now.

Miles started to follow, but Rodger, still clinging to my back, yelled at him to stop.

"Tell your brother to keep searching for my daughter!" Rodger yelled into Rome's ear.

"Keep looking for Chloe. I can handle her ex."

Miles's bloodthirsty wolf snarled, but turned to do as we said. "You better fucking put him down. This ends today."

"This ends today."

Rome chased the monster of his former human, not wavering from his trail. Even with Cameron's deformed body, he was still fast.

"Alphas," Billy's voice filtered into the mind link. "The ward must have fallen. We found tracks, and...." His voice trailed off like he was distracted.

"And what?!" Miles demanded.

Billy's urgent voice came back. "Fire Moon. The pack is surrendering. About a hundred warriors just rushed our way. They were yammering about a giant snake."

A snake. That could only be one person.

"On my way," Miles said. "Any sign of Chloe?"

"Not yet, Alpha. The warriors said she was with that Mr. Smith creep though."

I could feel Ivar and Miles's urgency in the mind link. Chloe was most likely with that snake. With Mr. Smith.

The temptation to turn around and join my brother in saving our mate was big, but I knew we couldn't let Cameron get away. Rome couldn't.

This ends today.

Cameron's monstrous form was sprinting ahead, just far enough that we could see him but couldn't make contact. As luck would have it, he started to change direction, heading in the direction I felt my brother going.

The trees were thinning, making it easier to catch up with the snarling humanoid beast in front of me. That is until the entire ground and earth started to shake.

Rome ran into the side of a tree, groaning from the impact. Rodger yelled as he was launched several feet away. He was struggling to get back on his feet as the ground continued to shake. He barely dodged a falling tree, rolling out of the way as it came crashing to the ground. Rome crawled to where Rodger fell, pushing him up with his snout.

An earthquake of this magnitude couldn't be a coincidence. The confusion in the pack mind link was chaos.

Then, I felt her. Chloe. Terror struck me, feeling the amount of energy she was expelling.

"No," Rodger whispered, looking up at the sky.

Rome followed his gaze. There were no clouds in the sky except for one, and it was a deep purple, raining down lightning.

As the earth stilled, Rodger got to his feet and ran in the direction of the cloud, where the lightning was striking.

"Cameron," Rome looked around anxiously.

We didn't see him. We lost him in the chaos of the earthquake. Rome stood, looking frantically all around, debating on what to do. Then we felt Chloe again. Felt her struggle.

That made the decision for us.

"Did you feel that?" Miles asked in a frenzied panic. "Did you feel her?!"

"Fuck. Did you find her yet?"

"We're tracking now, but I have a feeling I know where she's at."

The magic in the air was a clear indicator. Only Chloe could have caused that.

Miles felt further from the mayhem than I currently was. I was just behind Rodger now. Somehow, I knew that he was heading for her.

I passed him easily. I knew where to go. The cloud was almost overhead now. There was something burning furiously in the forest up ahead too. The thunderous crackling of the fire barely drowned the sounds of hissing and yelling. It was like the fire was a wall, trapping something inside.

Then, the fire just went out. It dropped as the cloud cleared from overhead. The connection I had with my mate went cold, and the forest felt still again. It was like a temporary peace fell over us all.

"CHLOE!" Rodger yelled far behind me.

Rome pushed himself harder, feeling that the peace was about to break. A minute later, when we got to the clearing where we saw the flames, my worst fears came to life.

Cameron in his monstrous form was hovering over my mate, lying unconscious on the ground.

Miles POV

"STOP HIM!" I heard my brother yelling to his wolf. I felt his absolute terror. It chilled me to my bones.

"What happened?!" I demanded, but got nothing back in the link.

Chloe was there. I felt her, and then all of a sudden the bond went cold. Ivar was pushing ahead out of desperation.

"Pick it up, pretty boy," Driana told me, kicking against Ivar's side like he was a horse. "Trouble's a brewing."

My warriors and I pushed ahead. Driana's sharp intake of breath told me something was wrong.

Ivar came skidding to a halt.

In the clearing, there was a mound hiding what looked to be underground bunkers. The ground was broken, the massive earthquakes we felt having torn the earth apart, creating deep crevices that looked near impossible to navigate. The ground was scorched. Evidence of a killer battle was everywhere. The ground was coated in debris and blood.

That wasn't what shocked me. It was my mate, lying limp in the arms of her ex.

His disfigured body was heaving heavily, his dripping drool falling onto the bare body of my entire world. He was staring across the chaos at Rome, who was trapped on the wrong side of a canyon that was now carved into the broken earth.

"NO!" Driana screamed from my back.

Rodger came from behind Rome and shot out a burst of magic, aimed at the canyon between him and his daughter. The strain on his face was evident even from as far away as we were. He didn't have the capacity for such a high energy spell. He didn't have the power. But he achieved his goal nonetheless. The ground shook as the split decreased, making it more jumpable for Rome.

Rome didn't miss a beat. Even at the expense of our father-in-law. He leaped over the shortened crevice into the charred circle with our mate and her former mate.

"GO!" Driana demanded, kicking at my sides.

She didn't have to tell Ivar. He was already moving, desperate to help save our mate.

The monster, seeing Rome leap over to his side, turned and ran for a fallen tree to escape over to the other side of the canyon. It must have been how he got to Chloe to begin with.

"Damn it!" Driana hollered, letting go of Ivar's neck to throw her hands in Alpha Cameron's direction.

I was scared she would accidentally hit Chloe as a yellowish volt of electricity shot from her fingers. It went shooting past the monster carrying off my mate to the fallen tree. Cameron let out an ear-piercing roar, then turned for the bunker instead.

"He can't hold it!" Driana cried as we got closer to Rodger.

He was sweating profusely, his face going pale. My warriors were hot on my tail, but they were not going to make it. I'd barely make it across before Rodger passed out.

"Get something made to get across this thing!" I yelled at Billy.

I felt him barking orders at the others, but I was focused, almost to Rodger. I needed to help my brother. I needed to save our mate.

Driana ducked down low, grabbing hold of me tight as I took that final leap. Ivar's paws just touched the ground as Rodger fell over. The earth groaned and shook as the gap fell open once again. I didn't know if Rodger was even still alive, but I knew he sacrificed all he could to make sure we could save his daughter.

"Fucking idiot," Driana seethed, the anxiety for her brother thick in her tone. "Crazy bastard."

Despite her words, she didn't let go to help him. She stayed with me. She came to help save her niece, in place of her brother.

Ivar barely fit through the entrance of the busted bunker door. Driana did have to get off him to follow behind. She slid down easily in a fluid movement so he never had to break his stride.

The horrific sounds of snarling and fighting sent fear running through me. Fear for my mate. Fear for Mick. I couldn't lose either of them.

Ivar's paws slipped in thick stickiness as he tried to speed down the halls towards the growling and vicious sounds. My mate. What has she been through?

There was a light at the end of the hall, the giant shadows telling me that Rome and his former human were in there. They were tearing into one another already.

Where was Chloe?

When I reached the room, Ivar pushed head-first through the gap where a door once stood. He rammed into the monster without hesitation, tossing his giant form into a concrete hall. The room shook as the concrete split. Cameron recovered quickly, turning with blood dripping from his deformed face to backhand Ivar to the wall opposite him.

"Watch out!" Driana shoved against my wolf.

I had almost fallen on my mate. I could scent her. Smell her. Anything.

Was she even alive?

Fear overtook me, making Ivar whimper as he pushed his head against our limp and bleeding mate. She had cuts and bruises all over her ashen face. Her lips were colorless.

Driana, in a panicked rush, placed her ear to Chloe's chest, then yelled, "She's alive!"

The relief was short-lived. Rome and Cameron were still fighting, dangerously close to us.

"I got her!" Driana grabbed both of Chloe's arms and started to drag her out of the room.

I stood guard, blocking them from flying debris and the scuffling until they were in the hallway. Then Ivar turned to help our brother.

Rome's black fur was glossy with blood. Cameron was missing part of a hand and had bite marks all over. Some of his wounds looked bad enough to be fatal. He wasn't healing, but he wasn't going down.

"I. LOST. EVERYTHING!" Cameron bellowed after tossing Rome across the room right into me. "EVERYTHING! INCLUDING YOU!"

The rage in Cameron's eyes was like pure madness. He felt like a rogue wolf, but without the presence of an actual wolf.

Rome whimpered so softly I barely heard him as he got back to his feet.

"Not everything," I snarled, leaping over my brother. "Not yet."

Ivar didn't go for Cameron as he lunged. He went past him to a shackle fastened to the wall. He gave me back control the second his feet landed on the ground. I took the chains, tossing them over my head and letting them go with a twist of my wrist. As the monster came at me with his claws extended, the chain flew out and wrapped around Cameron's neck twice, holding him in place. I ducked out of his way as he fell to the ground, then turned to grab another set of bloodied chains, wrapping them around Cameron's upper arm of his whole hand in the same way. The harder he pulled against the chains, the tighter they became.

Ivar took over once again, falling back to flank Rome as Rome stalked towards the screaming, thrashing monster.

"Goodbye, brother," Rome's pain-filled rasp filled the link, his voice soft but heavy with so much sorrow.

With one final lunge and a twisting jerk, the crunching, snapping sounds of flesh being torn were the last sounds of battle before the room fell silent. Cameron was no more. Rome finished him for good. I can't even imagine the weight of having to kill your own human. The one he was born to.

As Rome stood with his head hung low, Cameron's blood still fresh on his teeth and fur, Ivar came u beside him, supporting him as he mourned greatly.

"Uh," after several long minutes, Billy's voice came through the link, breaking through the sorrowful tension. "We confirmed Mr. Smith was a snake, right? Like, some sick, freaky, eat-an-entire-family-and-all-the-pets-too sort of snake?"

"Why?" Fear started to settle in me once again. Driana took Chloe, and I forgot about one major threat. Mr. Smith.

"Because we found billions of the weirdest fucking crystals out here, and they all have pieces of a snake in them. We got a large one that had the tip of a giant-ass tail in it."

What the hell was he talking about? Did Chloe do something to the snake? Did she kill Mr. Smith?

Ivar gave me back control, and Rome pushed Mick to the surface too. We ran from the room, looking for our mate. Driana had her all the way down the hall, in a room at the end that looked empty except for a few random chairs and trash littering the corners. Driana's expression as she looked over our mate sent me into a panic.

Mick and I fell to the ground beside her. Her face was so pale. There wasn't any color to her luscious lips. Her cuts were still trickling blood, no signs of healing anywhere.

"Do you feel Cortina?!" I asked my wolf.

He was pacing wildly, trying to reach her. He couldn't get through.

"Cara mia, please," Mick grabbed her hand, tears trickling from his eyes. "Why does she look d-d.... Gone?" He couldn't bring himself to say 'dead'.

"She's not dead," Driana sighed, moving her hands over her jacket pockets. She pulled out her pack of cigars and her lighter, then she looked at Chloe with irritated worry before pocketing the pack back in her jacket. "Her body is just under more stress than normal. Parasites have a way of doing that to a woman."

"Parasites?" I repeated, looking over my mate's body with worry.

Mick's hands moved over her, like he was searching for whatever could be leeching off Chloe's naked body.

Driana chuckled. "Get your baby mama to the clinic, boys. There's nothing we can do here." She groaned, getting up to her feet. "Guess I need to think about quitting. Rodger's going to be a pain in the ass. I'm too damn old for this."
