Chapter 52

We are finally back in Royal city. When we reach the castle, I see Meredith and Arabella standing in front of the door to welcome us, in Meredith's hands is a boy, my son. I squeeze Rayan's hand tighter wanting to get out of the car already so that I can give him little kisses all over his face. The car finally comes to a stop and Meredith puts Ahyan down. I cover my mouth with my hands and I feel tears sting my eyes as he starts to walk-run towards me. I crouch down ready to receive him

"Mama," he says in excitement. I lift him off the ground and hug him tenderly. I missed him so much. I get up and Rayan kisses his hair before asking, "Hey, buddy. How have you been?"

"Fine! Chocolate?" I laugh and shake my head. Ahyan has a sweet tooth and I refused anyone from giving him any of that because It is bad for his health.

"No, daddy didn't get you any. You'll ruin your little teeth," I kiss him. He frowns and his face contorts to a crying one.

"Come on, mummy, just one!" Rayan says In baby voice. I facepalm. Rayan does this all the time! He gives him anything he wants.

I sigh and hug him again, knowing that his real parents are not here only makes me love him more.

"Don't cry, you can have one after dinner,"

He immediately stops like I pressed a button.

"Let's go in, it's chilly out here," Rayan carries Ahyan and leads us in.

We refresh and rest a while before dinner since it will be with the whole family and Jasper is introducing us to his mate! Xena. I repeat the name.

I wear a long black backless dress that almost touches my heels. I put on minimal makeup and let my hair down before going down to my mate

He looks very presentable too in a dress shirt and black pants. We meet halfway for a kiss then he grabs my waist and walks to the dining area. When we get there, Enol is standing in the corner of the room, pressing on his phone while Jasper and a woman whose back is turned to us are talking. Jasper is smiling and brushing her hair with his hand. They seem very comfortable.

They stop talking once they notice us. The woman visibly stiffen and turn to us

She is as tall as I am. Symmetrical face and attractive physic. Her hazel eyes are fixed on us and I wonder why she feels or looks familiar.

"Brother, Lucy," Jasper says, nodding his head. I smile and greet him

"How are you?" He responds and we exchange a few words before he proceeds to introduce us to his mate.

"Xena, this is my brother, Prince Rayan and his mate, Lucille Lavigne," he smiles

" Lavigne?" The woman seems a bit surprised.

"Yes, you seem surprised," I say with a smile while eyeing her reacton. She simply shakes her head and smile

"It's very nice to meet both of us, I've only heard good things," she says.

"Is she well now? Did she regain her memory?" Rayan asks Jasper and I nudge him. Jasper clears his throat and glares at his brother, signaling with his head that Xena is here.

"She can hear, Rayan," he grounds. Xena chuckles and throws her hair back. Confident much? I raise my eyebrows.

"It's alright Prince Jasper." To Rayan, she looks at him and says,

" Not yet, the doctor says it will come back soon, it's just that I hit my head very much," she explains. This girl is human, what was she doing in a City of wolves and how did she get past the border

"Where are you from and what-" Jasper interrupts me.

"She can't remember anything," I sigh and nod.

We start talking about other things and Enol finally decides to greet us. The boys are talking and I take this time to observe Xena. She's wearing a nice blue cocktail dress and heels. Her makeup is on point and her dark hair is in a neat bun. She has raven tattoos from her side neck down to her arm. They look cool and Enol is gushing over them now, saying he wants ink on his body but his brothers are saying no.

Rayan has a tattoo on his back," he argues. The door opens and the King and Queen walk in, they look lovely as always.

They greet us all and welcome Xena. She looks a bit flustered by It.

As we sit down for dinner, we converse. The food is delicious. I learned that Xena has only been here for three days but has known Jasper for a week. They are very comfortable around each other already. And she is accepting of our world. Jasper can't even hide his affection for her, he is kissing her hand at every chance they have.

I'm happy seeing him like this.

Before retiring to bed the Royal couple urges us to work together to keep the family and Royal City progressing and flourishing.

We are in the main room, I'm sitting on Rayan's lap and Xena and Jasper are sitting close to each other. Delish and her fiance have joined us. We are chatting, laugh, and drinking. "Where's Darren?" I ask.

"Looking for his mate," he says in a bored tone and we burst out laughing. He strongly said he doesn't want one but now that Jasper has, he is looking as well.

"He told me he doesn't want one,"

"Well, he says he's feeling left out," Delish answers and drinks her beer.

"What's with men not wanting mates," I groan.

"Well, I guess we don't want to be bound to want woman," Rayan answers, I get off him immediately and glare at him

"Excuse me?" I cross my arms against my chest. He seems terrified.

"Those men are fools. f**k, I love you so much and I want to be glued to you all the time," he says quickly with puppy eyes.

I raise my eyebrows. He gets up and grabs me by the waist, kissing me sweetly. I kiss him back and we seat back down.

"Didn't you want a mate, babe?" Xena asks Jasper.

"Oh I've been obsessed with the idea of finding my forever since I was a child," he tells her. She smiles and caresses his face with her fingers.

Two weeks have passed by and all is going well. Xena is adjusting pretty fast and is very nice to everyone, maybe a little too nice. She even volunteers to watch Ahyan most times. The Castle is very busy because we are preparing for Rayan's Coronation in two days.

Today is a sunny day! Which is so rare in this part of the region.

I rush to Ahyan's room to check if he's awake and surprisingly he is! I check the time, 10 am.

"That was a short nap,"

His eyes are fixed on me as I approach him. He's standing against the rails of his crib and jumping in excitement.

"Hi my baby,!"

He seems to be in a happy mood.

"Mummy! Look!" He is showing me his new toy car Jasper and Xena bought him. It makes sounds like a real car and he loves it.

"Nice car, I comment again. This is the fifth time he's shown me.

He puts it away and stretches out his arms to me. I carry him. He is happy. I give him little kisses on his face

"Should we go check on Daddy?" My baby is gripping my hair tightly and I wince.

The castle is amazing today, the windows are open and the sunlight is getting in.

I meet Darren on my way to Rayan. He is smiling at us.

"Look who we have here, It's uncle Darren,"

Darren bows politely" hello girlfriend," I giggle, it's been a while since he called me that. "Hello, boyfriend,"

We exchange pleasantries and he plays with Ahyan for a little while.

"Where is Rayan?" I ask. He sighs.

"He's in a meeting with a few councilmen. I escaped, don't think they'll conclude soon,"

Hmm, I wonder what it is about. He said he'll take a day off and make it a family day!

I scowl and turn on my heel. I go to my room and change into a two-piece bathing suit. I wear a black one and it's perfect.

I look Into the mirror then at Ahyan on the floor.

"Do I look good?" Of course, he doesn't answer, Instead, he ignores me and continues playing.

I pick him up and change him Into a vast and short. I wonder if he knows how to swim. I wrap a towel around my body and wear some sunglasses before going into the backyard.

The pool area is huge and nice. I put my legs in the water to test it and it's just the right temperature. I fully get in and put my son too. I slowly let go of him and he starts kicking his legs. We spend about an hour in the pool, splashing each other water and laughing when Xena suddenly appears.

"Hello!" She smiles at us. She takes off her sunglasses and sits on the edge of the pool

"You guys are bonding!" She says cheerfully

I nod.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I was looking for a ring I lost last night somewhere here. It's very dear to me," she informs me.

"Family heirloom?" I ask. She nods her head but quickly nods negatively.

"Um, Jasper gave it to me," she says. Guilt washes over her face and I squint my eyes, I breathe in and smile.

"What does it look like, we'll help you look, right my little Prince?" I say and throw Ahyan in the air. He giggles and I repeat my actions.

"Ahyan is so cute!" Xena gushes over him. I nod and kiss him as we get out of the pool.

We are still looking for the ring in the places she thinks she dropped

"How did you lose it?" I ask while searching

"Jasper and I were you know," her face is red with embarrassment

I gasp but don't add any more.

Minutes later, I see the ring next to a gazebo.

"There!"

I pick it up and inspect it.

It's a pretty ring with a ruby on it.

"It's pretty," I show it to my son but he winces and whimpers before pushing my hand away. I drop the ring.

"Ahyan," I scold. He acts up If he doesn't like something.

"Sorry," I say to Xena. She smiles awkwardly and pats his head but he swats her hand and looks at me.

" Mummy, water water. Mummy swim," he is pointing at the pool.

Xena who was watching us the whole time with interest picks up the ring and puts it in her back pocket.

"Aren't you wearing it? You wouldn't want to lose it again," I say.

"No, I will wait for Jasper to put it on me," she smiles

Alright. It's getting a little cold. We should go and cuddle up now," I wave as we go back into the house. Ahyan is upset that we are not going back in the pool. You're so rude at times, you know," I murmur to him.

"Swimmy, mummy,"

We go straight to his room, I dress him up then go to find Rayan.

I find him in his study, discussing with Jasper. They both stand up and smile.

"My love, Ahyan,"

"Thank you for coming," Jasper seems relieved to see me. I'm sure that workaholic mate of mine was holding him hostage.

"I should go look for my own mate," he says as he kisses my cheek.

"Oh yes, you'll find her in the backyard,"

"What is she doing there?" He knits his eyebrows.

"She lost a ring so she was searching for it," I inform her and he says

"What ring?"
