The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 134 Book 2 Chapter 66

Zillon thought he could win, he honestly fought with his all, but he wasn’t strong enough, wasn’t fast enough… He missed the most vital spot on the wolf by a second and that’s what lead him to where he was now; on the ground, watering the earth with his b***d…

The king did not miss, he did not hesitate to slam Zillon down on the floor, to sink his teeth into his neck…but maybe that’s why he was a king…he didn’t listen to his heart, just like Zillon’s father had said….

Zillon should’ve probably listened to him, but what would he have gained?

If he had sent Xavier away, then they would’ve never made it this far in the war, so probably Zillon was glad he listen to his heart…

The only thing he was sad about was breaking his promises…the ones he made to Celeste…

‘I’ll come back…’

‘We’ll win…’

His own words had him choking on guilt now… He shouldn’t have said them because from the start, he knew he wouldn’t have made it back…

Sure he did his best, he fought with his all, but sometimes even that wasn’t enough…if he died, the battle would be finished and they’d lose, it hurt his pride, but the fact that he wouldn’t be able to see his pups grow pained him even more…

How would Celeste do it alone?

How would she manage?

Pain scourged Zillon’s heart as he thought about it, a whimper falling from his lips as he looked up at the black wolf growling threateningly on top of him.

He had already won, Zillon could barely move, barely breathe, he was dying and he knew it. He wish he could tell Celeste bye, wish he could speak to his babies once more…goddess he just wish he could see her again…

See her beautiful smile, look into her blue eyes and touch her flawless skin…If only he had been stronger, if only he was a better alpha, if onl—

Zillon’s heart stammered in his chest when Celeste’s scent flooded his nostrils…he could smell her fear, her pain…and all of a sudden, he could smell his too…

What was she doing outside?

Why was she here?

Or perhaps he was just imagining it…was that how bad he wanted to see her?

Whimpering again, he tried moving, tried pushing the wolf off of him, but he was too weak, he had already lost a lot of b***d and a lot of strength too…

He could still hear the war around him; the whimpers, the growls and he could still scent the b***d; the metallic scent of lost lives and yet Celeste’s scent was stronger than it all…

He couldn’t just be imagining it, she had to be here, she was here and that fact was proven to him when a flash of white graced his eyes…

The heavy weight of the black wolf soon became no more and what or rather who hovered over him was Celeste; her white fur blowing along with the wind as she looked down at him…

As always, her beauty was unparalleled, even in wolf form her blue eyes remained the most beautiful gems he’d ever seen…but what was such a beauty doing in the center of this horror?

She shouldn’t be here?

She should’ve never seen him like this?

This version of him would haunt her forever and the fact that she was out in the open, out in danger and he couldn’t move to protect her made him feel even more pitiful…

Groaning, he tried to get up, but Celeste stopped him when she laid against his neck, her whimpers sounding like a sad song to his ears…she was probably dying inside while he was just dying, she was probably in more pain than he was…

His poor kitten…his little angel…

What would happen to her when he stopped breathing?

What woul—

Zillon’s eyes shifted to the left when he heard a growl and in suddenness the black wolf that had hovered over him lounged at Celeste…

The strength he had lost flooded back into him and he rolled over, using himself as a shield to protect her….

Pain scourged his entire body, his fur retracting as he involuntarily changed back into his human form…he was too weak to retain the form of his beast, too weak to control it’s power…

He was now really on the verge of dying, but it was all worth it if he was dying for her…b***d flooded through his lips, tainting her white fur and only now did the words of the elder became comprehensible to him…

‘White fur tainted with red… To save is to die…’

All the while, he thought that it was meant for Celeste, but the prophecy was meant for him…it was him who’d die.

With a grunt, he looked up at the black wolf who was about to finish him off, but it’s movements froze when a howl more powerful than the boisterous winds of a storm shook the whole forest…

The sounds of fighting stopped and it seems nobody could move, not even Zillon…

After the howl, silence descended throughout the land, only being tainted by the rushed steps of what seemed to be a wolf, it growled and immediately after the black wolf that had threatened Zillon’s life was taken down by another black wolf; and that black wolf —as surprising as it may sound— was Xavier….
