The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 135 Book 2 Chapter 67

Xavier did not see the danger until Celeste was apart of it…a flash of white dwelling in a land of red…

On the battlefield, she resided over a scene Xavier never thought he’d be heartbroken over. Zillon laid flat on his side, gasping to so much as breathe, b***d coated the fur under his neck and for a moment, Xavier forgot that he was in a fight with an opponent far stronger than him until he was tackled to the ground…

His back hit the dirt hard and a grunt left his lips as he tried pushing the wolf that had jumped on to of him off… He had to help Zillon, he had to save Celeste, he had to—

Xavier’s breath hitched when the alpha king that reigned behind Zillon approached, his eyes fixated on the little white wolf, looking like a mouse under the attack of an overgrown wolf.

She didn’t even see the attack coming, she didn’t even notice his approach, she was too unstable; emotionally and physically…

This was no place for a pregnant shewolf and yet Celeste just had to stubbornly find herself out here.

Pushing at the wolf with his hind legs again, he tried to free himself from the restrictions he was currently under, more so when the alpha king leaped at Celeste.

One attack from him, one bite and it’d be life threatening to her, his little fighter would be gone, his devil in the disguise of an angel, his sweets, his Celeste…

He couldn’t let her die, he had to save her, no matter what it took.

Turning towards the wolf that laid densely on top of him, he growled, thankful that his hind legs were enough to keep it from breaching close enough to really hurt him…

His eyes glanced back over at Celeste and the pained whimper that drifted from the mouth of her wolf had him retaining enough strength to switch positions with the attacking wolf.

He rolled over, holding the dominant spot instead of the submissive one. There was an opening, Xavier could’ve killed the beast beneath him, but instead he let it loose and ran towards where Celeste was…

However…it seemed he was too late, Zillon had already saved her and now he was the one in grave danger. His wolf skin had retreated and now only his fragile human skin remained…

That only happened when a werewolf was too weak to fight and if Zillon had reached that point, then it’d be even easier for the alpha king to kill him and then Celeste too…

Xavier fastened his pace, his eyes zooming in on the black that threateningly stepped towards Zillon and Celeste, he wouldn’t make it in time and he knew it, he was too far away. The bodies that tainted the floor was too much to run over and every step he took forward seemed as though he was going backwards.

His heart froze in his chest when in slow motion he watched as the wolve’s mouth opened up to devour Zillon, his legs became stiff, his wolf howling pitifully in his mind…

Move Xavier…!

F*cking move already!

Save your brother!

Why did you stop!

Weak… disgusting… This was what he came here for, to watch the only two persons who really cared about him die…he knew he was worthless, his father had told him, but not to this extent…

To watch his brother die…his b***d? He couldn’t have it…

Xavier forced his legs forward, a howl so loud breaching the air from the very depths of his throat… everything around him seemed to be moving slower or was it that nothing else was moving at all…

Silence deafed him, his steps being the only thing that tainted it… Still, his sprint quickened and with a leap, he took down the alpha king and only then did everyone around him started moving…

He growled in the wolve’s face, opting to attack when the sound of bones cracking rained down heavily on his ears. He tilted his head wondering what in heaven’s name was going on…

He was about to die and instead of defending himself, he chose to change back into his vulnerable form, was he a fool?

It’d be easier for Xavier to kill him then…

Nevertheless, Xavier watched his transformation and soon a man laid beneath him instead of a wolf. He looked up at Xavier with eyes hazel and glossy, then slowly, his hand reached forward, resting gently on the top of a beast’s head. “Son…?”

If Xavier’s wolf could portray his emotions, then the confusion he felt would be written all over his face. Was the fact that this man lost driving him mad?

“I…I found you…after so many years, you’re still alive, you’re still breathing, you’re still here.”

Xavier was tempted to change forms to speak, but he didn’t, it was too dangerous.

“Like father, like son…your fur is just as black as mine…your howl…you are him; my little Kaheel.”

His fingers ruffled through Xavier’s fur and Xavier growled defensively at him. What was this mad man saying?

Glancing around, he noticed that everybody had stopped fighting and all the opposing wolves crouched against the floor…were they surrendering?

Was this the end of the bloodshed, the end of the war?

If so, then was it safe to let go of their king that seemed to be suffering from dementia?

Or did he have to have to kill hi—

Xavier shook his head…they were already surrendering, might as well the bloodshed ended here.

Hesitantly, he stepped away from the man, his steps cautious.

“Let me see you…you must’ve grown so much, I bet I won’t be able to even recognize you.” He looked around at his men and suddenly, bones started cracking and instead of wolves, stood naked men…all vulnerable to the remaining wolves in Zillon’s pack and yet they did not attack.

Why…?

The sudden thought had him coming back to his senses, and the sound of Celeste’s sobs became audible to his ears…

That’s right…Zillon was injured, he was dying…they wouldn’t attack while they’re alpha was taken down…it was just instincts.

Quickly he turned towards the direction of Celeste’s sobs and rushed over just as quickly…his poor brother was suffering, seeming to be in so much pain…

Seeing him like this had him thinking that he should’ve forgiven him while he was sitting in that damn cell.
