Chapter 52

Anna's POV

It's Sunday, I'm staring at the sky. I gazed at the somewhat shady sky while holding coffee in my hand.

It's already 5:30 in the morning and Thea isn't awake yet.

It suddenly occurred to me to find the syndicate that killed both Nay Pia and Tay Felix. I'm free today so I can focus on searching.

After a while, my phone, which is in my pocket now, rang. I immediately looked at it and saw Daruel calling. I quickly turned to the other balcony and saw him staring at me while smiling. He had his cellphone in his ear and could hear and stare at me.

"Good morning young lady..." he said from the other line.

"Good morning, you don't have work today?" I wondered.

"Ahm... Nothing. It's Sunday."

"Okay," I thought for a moment.

Should I ask for his help to help me find the syndicate I am looking for?

But it's embarrassing.

But I can't afford to search alone, maybe I'm just wasting my time.

"Ahm... Daruel are you doing anything now?" I asked shyly.

"Nothing, why?"

"I'd like to ask you to help. Is it okay?"

I also immediately prepared myself and soon after the door of Thea's room suddenly opened.

"Good morning, where are you going?" She asked as she rolled her eyes.

"I'm going to start searching for the syndicate that killed my parents," I replied.

"Ah is that so? All right I'll come," she said.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course. Don't worry I won't mess with Daruel's tenderness," she teased.

"You take care of your life, Thea. I'll just take a shower," I said goodbye and immediately entered my room.

I also took a few hours to shower and get dressed before leaving the room. I saw that Thea was ready as well. Later on, there was a knock on the door.

"Your prince charming is here," Thea said tremblingly, we immediately went to the door to open it for Daruel. He smiled as he stared at us. His hair is very neat and the aroma of his perfume smells great.

"Hello, Anna. Ow Thea, are you coming?" he turned to Thea.

"Of course, don't worry, I won't mess with your date," Thea said while laughing.

"We're going to find a syndicate, not a date," I replied, shaking my head.

"Let's go?" courtesy of Daruel. We nodded and walked to the parking lot at the same time.

Thea immediately rode in the back and I was next to Daruel.

This is Thea, she insists that Daruel and I have a relationship.

"So where do we start?" Thea asked. We turned our attention to him, and later Daruel and I stared at each other.

For a moment I couldn't stop laughing.

"Wait. I don't know either," I promised.

"What? Omg Anna. Any clue or something?" She replied.

I was stunned for a moment and then an incident came to my mind.

// FLASHBACK //

It was dark because it was late at night and it was raining heavily. Nay Pia was busy preparing dinner while we waited for Tay Felix to arrive.

A few more minutes passed and we heard Tay Felix's motorcycle parked in front of the house, it rushed into the house because it was not carrying an umbrella.

"Oh, I love that you're here, you're soaking wet from the rain," mom said and she immediately took a towel and wiped dad's wet head.

"Good evening sweetheart," dad turned to me. I immediately approached him and hugged him.

"Good evening dad," I replied.

"Get dressed first Felix because your back is so wet," mom replied. I looked at the two of them because even though our lives were simple, we were happy and comfortable.

"My wife's sweet," dad softened.

"Hurry up Felix and we'll eat, maybe our princess is hungry," mom said and looked at my habit. A few more seconds passed and we started eating.

It was fun and full of stories that made us laugh. A few hours also passed and we also ended up eating.

A few more minutes and I went to my room to sleep, Nay Pia and Tay Felix went to their room.

I stared at the ceiling of my room for hours because I couldn't sleep. A few hours later I suddenly heard a crash outside my room.

My eyes widened and I immediately got up and went outside.

My whole body stiffened and my heart seemed to stop beating when I saw mom lying on the floor bathing in her blood. I saw dad kneeling with two men wrapped in black robes. Little by little my eyes watered. Men dressed in black laughed at my behavior. My heartbeat slowed.

"Anna! Run!" At the same time that dad shouted, the mysterious man fired a gun that hit his chest. The men started walking towards where I was.

I ran fast and immediately got out of the back of the house. I ran fast as if I didn't care around.

I just kept running because the men in black were looking for me.

What did they do to my family? They have no heart, they have no mercy.

Later on, I felt tired but I could hear the voices of the men I knew had followed me.

I quickly hid in the tall grass and put both hands over my mouth so as not to hear my sobbing. I held my breath when I heard the men in front of the grass I was hiding.

I stared anxiously to see their faces. I peeked in secret and a man just took off the mask he was wearing. I saw a tattoo on his neck.

It has an 'F' mark

"Where is that child now?" asked one of his companions.

"All I know is that's all here," replied one.

"Let's find her and finish right away...so that the boss doesn't get mad with us," the others asked and I breathed a sigh of relief as they began to step away from the weeds where I was hiding. // END OF FLASHBACK //

"Anna, are you okay?" I returned to reality when Daruel suddenly spoke.

It was as if all the pain had returned to me. I had no idea what had happened because I was too young. I couldn't even defend them, dad and mom.

I knew they weren't my real parents but I loved them more than they made me feel.

I always thought that maybe it was all my fault. Because I know that dad and mom are kind and honorable and I know that I am the purpose of that man.

They will pay for what they did. I will not give them mercy, life is the reward so life is also the reward. I don't have a pack of whatever the result is. All I want now is for them to be revengeful mom and dad even if my replacement is alive. Wherever you are mom, dad. I promise you that you will get justice when you die.

"Yes, I'm okay," I replied and smiled. "Let's go?" I said.

"Where do we start?" Daruel asked and started the engine of his car.

"I don't know but I'll search for pieces of information until I find what I'm looking for." That was it and we started to leave.

We spent most of the day searching for available information, we were stranded everywhere but we didn't find even the slightest bit of information.

We decided to eat lunch at a small fast food first, there are no housewives in the area we went to and only this small and old restaurant is here.

"Come on, let's have lunch first," Daruel said. He got out of the car and Thea immediately opened the door for us.

"Our beauty has been ruined but we still don't have any information. Destiny is cruel to us," Thea said and sat down at a round table.

We all sat down, soon a woman came to take our order.

Daruel was busy ordering when Thea and I imagined going to the comfort room. We said goodbye to Daruel first before leaving.

"We're dizzy to find the man you're referring to but we haven't got any information or even the slightest clue so we can find the demons that killed your parents," Thea said as we walked towards the comfort room.

We took a few more steps and a mysterious old lady approached us. It was wrapped in black cloth and looked like we were her target. We turned our attention to her before she finally got close to me. Thea held my hand I knew she was scared.

"Excuse me, ladies, I heard you talking about the man with the 'F' mark on his neck," she began.

My eyes widened and I stared at her, she seemed to know how we could find those who killed my parents.

"Do you know that?" I immediately asked.

"No. There are a lot of rumors here in our town that many people are dying and the culprits they point to are groups of mysterious men with an 'F' mark on their necks," she replied.

"Do you have any idea who was behind those events?"

'I have nothing to answer right now, but all we have to do now is take action to stop that killer... A lot of people say they're not ordinary people," she said. She stared at us for a moment before finally leaving.

The mysterious lady left us staring at her receding bulk.
