The Blind Luna
Chapter 19

ALPHA KAI KHAN

I ran into the woods like someone being chased. For good reasons, my beta collins mind-linked that I keep Mi Luz safe. “Mate, she is in danger,” my wolf whimpered in my head. My wolf wasn’t the only one scared. I was very much affected and nervous about what might happen if I didn’t get to the woods and see her just the way I had last seen her before going to the pack office.

Lisa had a lot to answer when I see her.

The woods were sunny and the floor burned. The trees kept swinging in different rhythms and noises. The birds inside their nests were busy whistling, but Mi Luz was nowhere to be found. I decided to let my wolf ears do the hearing so I could locate her sharply.

I closed my eyes before letting my ear feel the entire woods, “ha, aaa,” the heavy breathing of someone running. The tip-tap and pit-pat of someone running made me follow the direction it was coming from. The more I got closer, the breathing and tapping of the foot on the moist floor of the woods became clearer.

I didn’t know what to expect. I couldn’t tell if it was Mi luz or something tougher. I was in the woods with no weapons or anything. I stood behind the giant tree waiting to hit anything that was going to pop out through the gathered leaves.

The moment the leaves pushed open. I instantly felt the heat, pull, and spark of my mate. She was running to even notice me, I instantly pulled her into a hidden part of the tree.

“Shush,” I said, using my hands to wrap her mouth. She was breathing hard and her eyes were so large. “Where is she? The Alpha says to find her or don’t come back,” someone said, making me curious.

“Kai,” I heard her say in between my hands, and the sensation and touch of her lips on my hands was heaven. “Sh, Shush,” I said, fixing a finger on my lips. I wrapped my hands around her before pulling her into a hug. I bent a bit close to her ears since she wasn’t so tall.

“Wait here, don’t come out! I need to take care of something,” I said, but she held onto my shirt tightly and her eyes told everything, she was scared. “You’re safe here, only come out when I ask you to,” I warned her, pecking her cheeks before leaving.

I was going to find out which Alpha sent them. The moment I got out, I was shocked at the number of angry rogues with weapons clutched to their fists. As I take a few steps back, they tend to be foaming a circle.

I tried to figure out how to take them one after the other. There were fifteen of them and they were more armed than I was. One of them lunged at me as I pulled him to the floor, causing a loud thud on the floor. I used my claws to hit him hard on the chest. The footsteps of another were heeded as I turned to grab him but we ended up rolling on the dirty floor, each attempting to pin the other and failing.

He kept punching madly into the air, flinging blows haphazardly at my face. I tried dodging the first one. I was about to send him a blow when I was pulled away from him and flung heavily into a tree.

I slammed onto a hardwood floor, the back of my head hitting so hard. I see bursts of light and shades of a rainbow.

My back instantly went numb. I couldn’t help but gasp at the pain I felt. An arrow aimed at me made me move away, forgetting the pain I was feeling, I ran at full speed before nudging one rogue to the floor. The shooting of the arrow became intense as I tried all possible best to dodge them.

I looked around to notice nine more of them were still present. I touched my nose and it was bleeding. I twisted my neck and fist to grab another when the throwing of two knives hit two on the head. I turned to see Lisa grabbing her knives from the bleeding rogue before attacking another.

“You have a lot to answer to me,” I mind-linked. “Watch out,” she let out, throwing her knife to hit another rogue that was going to attack. “We have to leave, there are a lot of them coming,” she said as a rogue used his weapon to slice me in the arm.

I grabbed him before flinging him at the tree. “Alright, let me get Mi Luz,” I said, moving to get Sabrina when a sharp pain pierced my skin. It was blinding and reddening.

My legs became weak, the drizzling pain made everything blurry as I hit the floor. The thought of getting stabbed for the first time was all that clouded my mind till I blacked out.

SABRINA SANTIAGO

Tears,

Wobbling legs and confusion were all I felt as I ran to where Kai was lying soaked in his b***d. I couldn’t even lay a single finger on him. I wiped the tears trying to calm myself but couldn’t as more tears found their way out.

“Al, pha?” I said, shaking him, but he wasn’t moving. “Kai, it’s me, Sabrina,” I let out, but he wasn’t moving or calling me Mi Luz like he always does.

“Kai?” I heard Lisa say behind me, dropping her b***d-soaked knives to the ground. “Lisa, what if Kai didn’t wake up, we shouldn’t have gone to the woods! This is all my fault.” I let out, shakily. “This is not the time to blame yourself, we need to get him to the pack hospital quickly,” Lisa said, bending down to carry Kai on her back with my help.

The moment we were at the dark howler pack gate. The pack guard rushed to help Lisa, they promptly hurried Kai to the hospital with instantaneous impact as both I and Lisa followed from behind.

“Oh, moon goddess please save Kai,” I murmured under my breath after he was taken in for proper treatment.
