The Blood Moon Twins -
Chapter 115
CAULDER
It felt like there was a tickle in the back of my brain, making me stop in my tracks. We were moving towards the bunker, and we had been just about to cross the border of the territory. The itch was in a place that I couldn't scratch, and something about it was strange. I had a feeling I needed to figure out what this was before we moved any deeper into the fore
I motioned for the rest of the warriors to stop, and they did as I said. Mason moved towards me and tied his head to the side.
"What's going on?" he linked, since we were all in our werewolf forms.
"I need a moment." I didn't know what this itch was, so I didn't want to try explaining it quite yet.
The itch turned into more of a tugging motion, and my magic started reacting to it. With a deep breath over again, only it didn't feel like it was of my own creation. "Caulder," Remy gasped.
I flipped around and saw Remy sitting on the floor with her hands tied behind her back. I looked arou instantly winced. When I pulled back, I saw her arm was bleeding, and she looked like she was in roug "What did they do to you?" The words came out in a growl, and I couldn't control the anger. "We don't have time for that," Remy said. "Harper said you were coming after us." "Harper is okay?" I asked, holding my breath as I waited for her answer.
ted to focus on the sensation, willing it to come out. In a flash, my mind was somewhere else. It was that same familiar white room that I had seen over and
ng to make sure it wasn't a trick. When I didn't see anyone else, I ran forward, dropping to my knees in front of her. I pulled her into a tight hug, and she ition.
"She's with me, and she's alive, but I need you to focus." Her words came out in a fast string, and I could barely understand her. "We are in some sort of a shed with an underground component." "We are heading there right now. Based on the information Harper gave us, we assumed that would b ase," I said. It was a relief to confirm we were heading in the right direction.
"Before you just rush in, you need to know that the room we are in is covered in wolfsbane. If any of the pack members try to rush in here, they will be forced out of their werewolf forms and will be left defenseless. I don't know if the rest of the place has wolfsbane in it, though," Remy explained. She was out of breath from just talking, and I could tell she was in trou e needed medical attention as soon as possible.
"He is prepared for us," I said. If Draven was ready with wolfsbane, I was sure he had other tricks up hisle. We needed to be on high alert.
"Yes, so please be careful," Remy said. "I don't want anyone getting hurt or killed just to save me."
I didn't want that either, but we all knew there was a chance of that happening. The warriors were ready tonight and risk their lives for the alpha's daughter, but I wasn't about to say that to Remy. I knew she wouldn't take it well.
"Can you use your magic to shift you and Harper out of there?" I asked. I needed to know just how much Remy could do, so I was prepared for any situation.
Remy shook her head. "No. I'm not strong enough, and with the wolfsbane, Harper isn't able to fight for both of us."
I nodded. I had been prepared for them to be in no condition to help us fight, but knowing they weren't in good condition only upset me. "Just hang on for a little longer. We are on our way to come get you."
I moved behind Remy and started untying the knots around her hands. I pulled her to her feet and pulled her into a hug. Immediately, I felt the sobs escaping from her and the tears falling onto my shoulder. Remy was normally so strong, and it broke my heart to feel this amount of fear coming from her. I wished I could just whisk her and Harper away to safety right now.
"Please be careful," she whispered into my chest. "Please."
"We are coming to get you," I assured. "Draven is going to regret ever touching you."
Suddenly, the white room disappeared along with Remy, and I was back in the forest. Everyone was looking at me, waiting for me to explain what was going on. I shifted into my human form so Blade would hear my explanation as well.
"Remy just made contact with me," I said. "Draven has the place lined with wolfsbane, so we have to be careful." I looked at Mason and the rest of the warriors. "If you all go in there, you won't be able to use your werewolf abilities."
"The vampires will kill them in a heartbeat if that's the case," Blade said. There was no question in his voice, and I understood why. Werewolves were significantly stronger and faster when in wolf form. We actually stood a chance to fight against vampires, but as humans, we were too slow to do anything.
"That's why they aren't going in there," I announced. I looked at Mason. "We are going to cause a scene, and draw out as many vampires from their hideout as possible. Then Blade and I will enter by ourselves."
"You won't be able to use your wolf form either," Blade said. "You'll be at an extreme disadvantage, since magic isn't as effective on vampires."
I nodded my head, already taking that information into consideration. "I will be going in there with you. As soon as we find the girls, I can shift everyone out of there, away from the wolfsbane. We'll have to be quick, and I will need you to take on the brunt of the fighting for any lingering vampires. I'll do what I can with my magic to keep them away. Can you handle that?"
Blade didn't hesitate to say, "Yes."
"Are you sure about this?" Mason linked, since he was still in his werewolf form.
"Yes." I knew this was our best course of action that would lead to the least amount of casualties, even if it put me at more risk. If it meant bringing Harper and Remy home safely, it was worth it.

REMY
"Welcome back," Draven said when I opened my eyes. He was standing on the other side of the room, smirking at me. He must have reentered the room when I had made contact with Caulder.
I glanced at Harper, and she was staring at me with wide eyes. I wanted to tell her I was okay and that Caulder and the others were on their way, but I didn't want to say it out loud, especially not with Draven in the room. Even if he left, I didn't want to risk revealing that information to the vampires. If anyone was listening to us without our knowledge, it could hurt their chances of a successful ambush.
I shifted my body, and I noticed that the restraints around my hands were loose. Caulder had untied me when we had made contact, but I didn't think it would actually do anything, since I hadn't been physically present. His magic must have reached out to me somehow, undoing the knots for him. I curled my fingers up, holding onto the ropes, so they wouldn't fall off of my wrists. I didn't want Draven to know my hands were no longer restrained.
"How long have I been out?" I asked, looking around the room. I decided to pretend that I had just passed out for a little bit. I was a little disoriented from the communication with Caulder, so it wasn't too hard to act like I had just woken up.
"Well, it's been a few minutes since I came here. I've just been chatting with your little friend, waiting for you to wake up. Although, she hasn't exactly been feeling chatty. A little rude if you ask me." The glint in Draven's eyes told me he was enjoying taunting Harper. Caulder was on his way, I quickly reminded myself. Draven wouldn't get away with this. He would learn what it meant to mess with a werewolf pack. He would regret ever targeting me.
Draven pulled out a needle with a thick cylindrical tube attached to it. He took a few steps towards me. "Now that you're awake, I need something from you."
I looked at the needle and swallowed hard. My first thought was he was going to drug me with wolfsbane again, but when he got closer, I was able to see that the needle was empty.
"What are you doing?" I hated how shaky my voice was. I didn't want him to know how scared I was, but my body was betraying me.
He knelt down next to me and held up the needle. "I just need some of your blood. You see, since you are the Daughter of Moon and Magic, you are a powerful being. Your blood holds a lot of power, which I need if I'm going to release that beast those sorcerers are holding captive."
He grabbed my arm, and I gritted my teeth. If I fought against him, it would only make the situation worse. "Why would you want to release that thing?"
"Because I want to control it. I plan on destroying this world and making it one that I rule. That's exactly why I need you," he said.
"And how do I play a part in that role?" I asked. I hoped if I kept him talking for long enough, it would delay him taking my blood.
His eyes flicked to mine, and he smirked at me. "Because with you and my brother under my control, I can fulfill that stupid prophecy. I can take the power you two will create and make it my own." "Blade would never agree to that."
Draven chuckled. "Oh, foolish girl. Of course he will, because I have two things he wants."
"It doesn't matter what you have. He won't let you control him." I had seen the pain in Blade's eyes when he talked about Draven. I refused to believe he would ever give in to Draven again.
"Do you really think Blade would ever let harm come to you when he can do something to stop it?" Draven said. "He is foolishly in love with you, which I don't understand. Why would he fall for someone like you?"
"He's my mate," I said with confidence.
"So what? Julie thinks I'm her mate, but I don't care about her in the slightest. It has just made it easy to control her. I'll dispose of her when I'm done. Now hold still." Draven plunged the needle into my arm and started drawing blood.
I gritted my teeth together as he took what he wanted from me. Part of me felt bad for Julie if what Draven said was true. If she felt the mate bond with someone like him, she had no hope of actually having a successful relationship with him. It didn't excuse her behavior, but I pitied the cruel fate she was dealt.
