The Bully's Hated Mate -
The Bully’s Hated Mate – Epilogue
Five weeks but the kingdom could never forget how they nearly lost everything in one week.
Five weeks and Cassia still had ugly marks seated into her back and Lucius still had marks from that night but now, everything was peaceful.
Especially today when it was Lucius’ coronation as the Alpha of the pack and also wedding to his Luna and later, her coronation.
Normally, he was traditionally expected to seperate all three but he needed things to live for and today was going to be one heck of a reason to do so.
He watched as Marcus gradually became one of his best men, dressing him up now and helping him adjust his bow tie.
Lucius had never chosen a beta before and now, he didn’t need to because in the face of danger, the most unexpected person stood by him through it all, defending and even saving his life in the process.
He had not given it a second thought as he bestowed the title of beta to Marcus Grey. Cassia’s best friend, Lucius’ best man and now, beta to the pack.
The kingdom was still in recovery for what had happened but Lucius knew these things would take time to heal.
He would need time to amend.
If only his father could see him now, he was sure he would be so proud. He’d smile in his coffin.
Lucius had made sure to give his father a befitting burial as he was supposed to do. He had made sure to properly burn every remains of Ariadne and Cedric to ashes and tonight, on the day of his coronation, they were all going to drop him in the sea for all enternity.
“We’re done, your highness” Marcus said, snapping Lucius to the present.
Lucius smiled at him, almost wanting to reprimand him for always using formalities but today, he decided to thoroughly enjoy every bit of it.
He was ushered into the great throne room, being completely healed and refurbished.
He walked across the hall that now held the dignitaries of the greatest Alpha’s in the neighbouring kingdoms.
A priest was already present and he could see his soon to be bride completely covered by a veil, not too far from the second exit.
He smiled at her, knowing she wasn’t supposed to be here at all but knowing that she wouldn’t miss his coronation for the world.
He walked down, escorted like a bride to her groom by his Beta. The whole room fell in silence as he climbed the podium, making him look down at the audience as he sat down in the chair that once belonged to his father.
A chair that had once been stolen from him but proudly reclaimed.
Time flew by fleetingly as he recited the words a priest uttered to him and all to sundry to hear.
“Do you solemnly swear to be good leader? To guide? To judge and to protect all of those under you?” The priest asked, his voice ringing in Lucius’ ears.
“I do” Lucius said with designation and determination.
He didn’t need anybody to tell him how prepared he was to defend his people, he knew just how much he was. He already proved that.
“Then by the power vested in me! I crown you Alpha Lucius the first!” He shouted and placed the crown on Lucius’ head.
The hall’s occupants all rose up in unison. All bowing their heads to Lucius as he stood up and bowed his head to Cassia.
Cassia looked stunning in her white gown and while she would have objected to having her wedding the same day as his coronation, she really couldn’t wait.
She walked down the aisle, bouquet in hand and a lady at her side as she walked.
She felt her nerves unravel seeing everyone bowing to Alpha Lucius and him bowing to her.
She got to him and took her hands in his, kissing them politely as she stood facing him.
He couldn’t see her through the veil but she could see him through it and her eyes watered.
He wanted to do the wedding while clad in his royal regalia that he could only wear twice. First when he was being crowned and second, when he’d crown his son.
She felt honored.
“… Do you, Cassia Oscar, take Alpha Lucius Amias as your loving husband and mate till death do you apart?” He asked, his voice calm and soothing.
“Yes!” Cassia shouted and laughter rang in whispers as Lucius smiled at her, and she chuckled.
“Then I pronounce you Alpha and Luna! You may k**s the bride” he said and without patience, Lucius grabbed her veil and carefully removed it from where it was fastened into her hair.
Lucius looked at her as though this was the first time he saw her. She felt his eyes truly link with her soul.
Something was happening as he drew her close enough that their breath meshed and their bonds were in harmony.
“I love you” Lucius seemed to say often as he dipped his head for a k**s.
Cassia’s mouth opened for him, their tongues doing a dance for dominace, completely forgetting they were in front of the world.
Marcus cleared his throat and the hall burst into laughter.
They broke off the k**s and embarrassment washed over Cassia, and Lucius drew her close to himself before finally leaving her alone at the podium.
Cassia handed her bouquet to Marcus as everyone vacated the podium for her.
Another priest came out of nowhere with some liquid and an even more beautiful crown.
It had been years since a new Luna was crowned. Lucius knew she fitted right into the position without even trying so much.
Cassia was led by the hands and made to seat in an equal throne of size. Hers were created with moonstones and shone so bright in the hall, it seemed all light that came from the moon above, went directly towards her.
“As the mothers of the moon, the moon goddess obviously chose you for a task so great, a task you were destined for” One of the three women that surrounded her throne spoke out.
“Now we have all seen your abilities, it is only fair to give that which is originally yours as those before you celebrate with you above and beyond” the second woman said .
” We crown you, Cassia Oscar Amias, Luna of the moon pack!” The third woman said and together, one poured oil on her head till it overflowed and flowed through her temples.
The other picked apart flowers from its stem and scattered it on her temple and the third, rested a crown of moons and stars in her head.
Everyone, including Alpha Lucius, bowed before her, the hall acknowledged her greatly.
Lucius thought how beautiful her ceremony was, as beautiful as she was. They had the first dance, creating a wave of love, patience and peace as they swayed to the organ’s music that streamed into the ears of the crowd.
A week after, the first thing Lucius did as king was to call the heads of the rogues as he had once said he would.
He knew his father would be watching him from the skies above, proud of what he had become, a better leader. He would be amazed at the kind of leader he had developed into, with the help of his mate.
He asked them to form an alignment with the pack, giving them a choice to remain exiled and suffer, or join the pack and be united.
The rogue packs have been in exile for so long, so they accepted the offer. A peace treaty was drafted out immediately.
There were no murmurs or sneers being thrown at the table. Everyone simply accepted that which was right and for the first time, everyone could agree that they knew what was right and was willing to do the right things even though it was since long overdue with the unnecessary bloodshed already done.
Everyone was simply grateful the time didn’t pass.
Cassia was seated on the right hand of Lucius, present in the peace treaty both parties were now currently signing and she had never felt most at peace, watching the layers and wishes of Lucius she had witnessed finally come to pass.
Her heart gladdened and her soul was proud of the man she knew he had become. No longer a damaged boy but a man who was willing to let bygones be bygones.
A reformed leader, a reformed husband and mate.
She felt an immense sense of pride wash over her as she watched as her husband and Alpha solve the feud that had nearly destroy them while preaching what it meant to forgive and love your enemies.
People would look up to him and emulate that which he had shown today. He had successfully taught something the whole kingdom needed and it was something beautiful.
Peace was once again brought in the kingdom as the people from the rogue packs got jobs and started to earn and make a living for themselves, but that wasn’t what Cassia wanted to share with Lucius as he climbed into bed for the night a week after the treaty was signed.
“Do you like children?” Cassia suddenly asked Lucius.
Lucius, who had been trying to snuggle with Cassia suddenly stopped and looked extremely confused.
“You better because you’re about to become a daddy!” Cassia said.
It took a minute for Lucius to understand what Cassia had said. He rolled her over in happiness and looked into her eyes.
“Do you mean…?” He asked Cassia, surprise making him ask an already obvious question.
“How does daddy Lucius sound?” Cassia asked him and smiled sweetly.
“Oh, f**k. I’m going to be a father!” Lucius suddenly jumped off the bed and shouted in happiness.
Cassia giggled all through.
A year after, Cassia and Lucius were chasing the tiny footsteps of two little children around the palace.
There was peace, stability and happiness in the kingdom and most importantly, peace and happiness between them.
Who’d have known, that their union which began in hatred and hurt would birth something as effortlessly beautiful as it was?
It might not have been perfect, but it was everything they ever wanted.
