The CEO Wants To Divorce Me -
Chapter 28
By the time Arabella got home, it was late afternoon.
A warm yellow glow filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the cottage area in the setting sun's afterglow.
Arabella took a deep breath and, without pausing much at the door, opened it directly and entered.
The incandescent lights in the living room were wide open, and the man of the house had returned.Beth Ruth, in her loose nightgown, her arms wrapped tightly around Ezra's waist, was still voluptuous even under the kitchen sconce.
As if startled by the sudden opening of the door, Beth Ruth looked over in surprise. When she saw Arabella, the corners of her mouth lifted into a smile, "You're back, sister. I thought you were angry with me this morning...... Arabella didn't wait for her to finish, instead she just pushed her away and looked fixedly at Ezra to interrogate her.
"Ezra, what will it take for you to leave Ruth's family alone, I'll do anything if you'll leave my family alone!"
Ezra didn't care about the woman who burst in. "Are you naive or just plain stupid, Arabella, to think that you can save Ruth's family on your own, when they deserve to be in this situation?"
Arabella's eyes were red with anger at the man's sneering tone and she said with hatred, "Ezra, we Ruth's family never owed anyone anything! Is this what you call justice when you hear a little rumour and blame my father for such a great wrong?"
It was the first time Arabella had spoken to Ezra in such a determined manner, and the man's eyes darkened instantly, the veins in his ten fingers instantly rippling as his fingertipped hand snapped around Arabella's neck.
He stared at the woman and spoke coldly, "So what if it is? Justice has always belonged to the strong like me, and when Aden Ruth loses ...... Ruth's family goes down with her!"
"No......" Arabella's eyes widened in fear, and as if she remembered something, she suddenly grabbed the man's arm and begged, "Ezra, will you leave my family alone...... Don't you want a divorce? Fine! We'll go now!" Hearing that, Ezra visibly froze.
Arabella actually agreed to divorce him!
After a brief moment of surprise, Ezra sneered again, "Didn't you not want a divorce no matter what? What? Have you figured it out now?"
Arabella nodded, "Yes! I've figured it out! It's my fault, I'm not good enough for you! Divorce! We'll get a divorce now!"
It should obviously be a begging gesture, but on the contrary, the words came out of her mouth with a hard edge.
"This marriage is not something you can divorce just because you want to, I have suddenly changed my mind and don't really want a divorce....... Arabella, as long as you are mine Ezra, you will have to be under my control for one more day. How can I let you go with such a good thing?"
Arabella struggled madly, ripping the man's hand away viciously, her face aghast.
The man looked like a demon claiming his life from hell, his bloodthirsty eyes fixed on the woman, admiring her changing expressions.
Arabella's breath sank, her eyes flushed underneath, and for a moment she didn't know how to respond.
Beth Ruth, aside, was a little uncomfortable; the man had said he would marry her into the house only a short while ago, and now that it was so easy for Arabella to loose the divorce, he had actually decided to wait?
"Ezra, though Uncle Ruth should be punished. But my sister should be unaware of these things...... Since she wants to get a divorce, why don't you just say yes to her? It's also good for her to go back and take care of Auntie Lin."
Ezra's eyes flickered and he didn't speak for a moment.
He looked at Beth Ruth twice and said slowly, "Beth, I have my own arrangements in this matter, you don't have to rush, I will do what I promised you."
Beth Ruth's cheeks flushed and she bowed her head in some embarrassment.
She also knew that she was a bit hasty at this point and revealed her true thoughts, and could only smile awkwardly at the moment,...... but Ezra, Uncle Ruth has done so many bad things, don't you worry about my friendship with him, he deserves to be punished! That way your parents will rest in peace ......"
"Beth Ruth!" she was interrupted loudly by Arabella before she could finish her sentence, "If it wasn't for our Ruth's family, you wouldn't even know where you are now! Just you wait, one day you'll get what's coming to you!"
Arabella tilted her head, her voice trembling but extraordinarily firm as she stared at the man and woman in front of her, as if she wanted to carve their likeness into her bones and never forget it.
"Sister, how can you say that about me......" Beth Ruth looked at her incredulously, her eyes tearing up.
"You're still acting? You're upset that Ezra didn't divorce me, so you're taking it out on my dad? This is how you repay us for all the years the Ruth's family has raised you, you're so heartless!" Before the girl could finish, a crisp, sharp slap landed on her face.
Arabella didn't stand still and fell straight to the ground instantly, the right side of her face stinging with fire.
"So arrogant even though you're about to die? You're begging me now!"
The man's biting eyes swept over, a raised finger pointed at the door, coldly spoke, "I see you have not learned your lesson either, get out of here and kneel at the door!"
Arabella tilted her head up to look at him, her eyes of hatred and resentment tinged with tears, but she had been stubbornly holding them back, refusing to fall in front of these two. He actually beat himself up over Beth Ruth .......
Seeing her lack of response, Ezra took no pity on her tender body and yanked the woman's hand, dragging her up off the floor.
The force was so great that Arabella's wrist was immediately bruised at the wrist.
"Ezra you let go of me!" Arabella screamed, but couldn't break the man's grip.
Ezra pushed open the door to the cottage, his tone unruffled, "If you can stay here on your knees all night, I'll think about sparing Aden Ruth." "You!"
Arabella looked steadily at the man in front of her, the resentment and pain in her heart seeming to turn into a sharp blade to pierce the man's heart. However, her gaze instantly softened at the thought of her father's current predicament and her mother's half-white hair.
Now that it's over, she's in no position to say no?
"...good."
Arabella murmured low, crossed over to Ezra, walked to the door, and straightened up on her knees.
Her back was straight, and even though she was kneeling, she gave off a sense of nobility for no reason.
Ezra went back into the room like nothing had happened and continued to eat dinner with Beth Ruth.
