The CEO Wants To Divorce Me -
Chapter 29
The summer weather was always cloudy; the morning was balmy and sunny, and now the sky had become dark and gloomy. The dull clap of thunder suddenly rang out not far away, and Arabella's kneeling body shuddered slightly in alarm. Her body had been weak after the miscarriage, and she had been experiencing vague pains in the small of her back. The doctor had even warned her not to touch cold water, but now she was kneeling directly on the cold floor. The cold tiles sent warmth to her knees, and the woman's body shivered uncontrollably.Arabella clutched herself unconsciously, her eyes fading into a blur.
Arabella pinched herself hard, momentarily snapping out of her dizziness a little. Her breathing was getting heavier and heavier, while her thoughts became a little more wandering.
It was almost raining, and while the cool breeze was blowing on her, Arabella felt the heat growing on her body.
She deserved everything today, and she could endure any humiliation, no matter what it was, as long as she could save her father!
Arabella didn't know how long she had been on her knees, barely holding on with only a little willpower.
Whenever she felt like she was going to faint, she would bite her tongue hard and force herself to wake up.......
In one of the rooms on the second floor, Ezra stood by the window, staring out without moving.
He was in a good position, just in time to get a glimpse of Arabella kneeling at the front door.
His eyes were unmoving, but what was going on in his mind, no one could pry into.
"Ezra, what are you looking at?"
Beth Ruth suddenly poked her head out from behind him.
The man had been standing here for a few minutes now, not even responding to her call to him. A hint of suspicion rose in her mind, and before the man could respond, she stood on tiptoe and caught a glimpse of Arabella, kneeling in the doorway.
Beth Ruth was instantly alert, forcing herself to calm down as her ten fingers secretly tightened. She smiled reluctantly and pretended not to notice the person underneath in general, "Ezra, it's getting cooler now, let's go inside."
Ezra seemed to have just noticed Beth Ruth's presence, he subconsciously blocked himself from view and spoke a little away, "You go ahead and sleep, I have things to do."
What else is going on?
Watching Arabella from here?
Beth Ruth didn't make a sound, but instead the hate in her eyes grew. Ever since Arabella's miscarriage, Ezra's attention had always been off himself. It looked like he was as disgusted with Arabella as ever, but staying around himself, it was clear to notice that the man had changed.
Suddenly, a muffled thud penetrated from downstairs, and Ezra subconsciously glanced downstairs, his face immediately sinking.
He ignored the surprised gaze of the woman in front of him and turned in a big stride, heading straight down the stairs.
Beth Ruth is amazed, and only when she has chased her into the living room does she discover that it is Arabella who has passed out.
The man looks like he's impatient, but picks Arabella up by the waist with a hint of caution.
Arabella supposedly had a fever, and the men were scalded when they touched her bare skin. In contrast to the high body temperature, the woman's limbs were ice, and a cold sweat broke out behind her.
Ezra ignored Beth Ruth, who was standing in the hall, and carried Arabella straight upstairs.
However, it was called out by Beth Ruth, "Ezra!"
Her tone was thick with resignation and aggression, and even a few snorts.
The man's back stiffened, and without turning his head, he said, "Even if Arabella is to die, she can't die so obscurely at our doorstep. I'll bring her in first, and it won't be too late to punish her tomorrow." With that said he stopped caring about the woman behind him and carried Arabella straight upstairs.
Beth Ruth clenched her hands and clenched the back of her teeth, the anger in her eyes almost on the verge of burning out.
Arabella is faking it, right?
Did she find Ezra watching her from upstairs long before she happened to pa's out? The baby's gone and she's in the mood to seduce a man!
Undeterred, Beth Ruth stomped on her flip-flops and hurried after her.
Upstairs, Ezra had just carried Arabella into the house and was about to close the door when Beth Ruth appeared in the doorway.
Ezra frowned, not saying a word as he looked at the woman behind him.
At that moment another muffled thunderclap sounded in the sky, Beth Ruth shuddered and immediately grabbed the man's cuffs and spoke pitifully, "Ezra, it's thundering outside and I'm scared."
She looked up at the man with a rippling gaze that almost all men couldn't resist, "Will you sleep with me?"
"Beth, listen. arabella is running a high fever and I can't leave her alone." The man looked at her steadily and spoke undeniably, "Go and rest, I'll come back later."
Without waiting for Beth Ruth to respond, Ezra closed the door directly on her, shutting her out.
Beth Ruth stomped her foot in annoyance and gamely went to her room, locking the door behind her.
When Ezra returned in the evening, she would make sure he apologized to himself!
However, Beth Ruth waited in her room for most of the night without waiting for Ezra to return. Gradually, she too could not support herself and fell asleep.......
And on the other side of the room, Ezra stood motionless at the bed.
The woman on the bed had her eyes tightly closed, a flush tinting her ears and cheeks from the heat, lining her skin with the whiteness of snow. Her body was slightly curled up, as if insecure, with an unconscious defensiveness.
He had rarely looked so closely at Arabella's sleeping face. Although they had been married for three years, he still felt an inexplicable repulsion towards Arabella.
Arabella was certainly aware of his attitude, but no matter how cold he was, she still approached like a stubborn, paranoid deer, sometimes so stubborn that even those around her found it unbelievable.
For three years, every time he returned late, a wall lamp was left in the living room; early in the morning after a drunken sleepover, a cup of warm coffee was always left in front of the dressing table; the wedding ring that he himself had not noticed, but had been carefully treasured by her .......
Arabella's influence turned out to have permeated his life in this way.
Ezra hadn't gotten much shut-eye this night. After giving Arabella the fever-reducing medicine, she checked her temperature every few hours.
Finally by early morning, Arabella's fever had gone down.
The South Wind Villa is the most golden residential area in the city, and outside the villa are natural river views. After a night of rain and wind, there was the occasional soft sound of raindrops falling on the eaves, and the air was refreshingly moist and refreshing. Arabella woke up feeling nothing but heat and an unbearably dry mouth. She turned her head slightly and saw Ezra in front of her bed.
