Arabella walked slowly down the sidewalk, she hadn't seen the street properly like this in a long time. Not far away the red lights flashed sharply, the harsh light reflecting the glow, everything in the world seemed to be running by the book, except Arabella's life She looked down at her shoes and let the breeze run through her hair.

seemed to have changed overnight.

She didn't know how to face Ezra anymore. All the misunderstandings felt like a dead end, leaving her clueless as to how to untangle them.

No matter how much she pleaded, he would only dismiss it with an even more outrageous request. Smiling and saying he was willing to give her a chance was really just a way to see her make a fool of herself in a different way.

The woman smiled indifferently, the mockery between her eyebrows unsure if she was laughing at herself or the others.

Is it possible that the only person in the world who could soften Ezra's heart is Beth Ruth?

To be the one who could turn a man's face with a few words and a single tear was something she, Arabella, could never ask for no matter how much she envied it.

Arabella's steps were not fast, only stopping suddenly when she saw the store not far away.

It was a children's clothing store that opened on a street corner.

There weren't many customers inside, and a woman in an apron greeted the visitors with a smile. She was supposed to be the owner of the shop, and Arabella couldn't help but look at her for a few moments before noticing that she was struggling a bit with her steps. The girl looked down just in time to see her somewhat pregnant belly.

The shop's d??cor is cozy and the pale yellow wall lamps look extra warm. The walls and floor-to-ceiling glass are covered with stickers in the same color, and the childlike look of the owner's wife can be seen to be very attentive.

Arabella stood dumbfounded outside the door, for some reason, watching the woman in the shop as she stroked her baby bump, and a bit of envy suddenly rose up in her heart.

Seeing the woman inside look over strangely, Arabella scrambled to keep her head down and walk away quickly.

If her baby was still growing up nicely in her own belly, wouldn't it be logical for her to step in and have one of each like they did for either boy or girl?

Too bad she doesn't have that qualification anymore......

The woman had her head down and was about to walk quickly away from the area when someone behind her suddenly called out to her.

"Miss Ruth?"

Arabella sniffed and turned around to find that the person across the room was actually Noah Hall.

It was the first time she'd seen Doctor Hall without a white coat on.

The man was tall, with an erect posture, white hair and black skin, and his pupils looked deeper and deeper when he looked at people intently. The thin white shirt was sternly buttoned to the top one by him, and his righteous and sparse appearance made many girls look sideways.

"Doctor Hall, you're off duty?" Arabella looked over at him with a smile, inexplicably feeling a little formal with the man in front of her.

"Yes." Noah Hall nodded and paused before asking, "I wonder if Miss Ruth is free right now, why don't I invite you to sit at the restaurant out front?"

Arabella was a little surprised, then nodded anyway, "Doctor Hall asked, of course I'm available. It's just that I've bothered you a few times, so I should treat you this time."

Without saying anything, the man yawned slightly and was gentlemanly enough to let Arabella walk on the inside of the road.

They went to a teahouse that had been open for many years, and the setting was elegant and comfortable, perfect for a small gathering of friends. However, the spending here is very extravagant, and the average family may only be able to have a small gathering here once during the New Year holidays.

The manager of the store did know Noah Hall well and greeted him as he headed inside to sit in the booth.

Seeing Arabella standing beside him, the man's face instantly took on a bit of ridicule, "Eh yo great, you actually brought a girl here!"

Noah Hall immediately frowned and interrupted him, "Don't be ridiculous, this is my patient."

Arabella didn't take the misunderstanding to heart, instead she watched with amusement as Noah Hall was poked fun at by his friend, inexplicably feeling a few degrees closer to the man.

Once the two were seated in the booth, Noah Hall spoke up and stated the reason for his visit.

"Perhaps I shouldn't meddle in your personal affairs, but for some reason I always felt I might regret it if I couldn't do my part."

The man's long eyebrows were distant, his eyes were dark and warm, he looked at the woman with faintly hooked lips and asked softly, "If I'm not wrong, Mr James, who brought you to the hospital several times, is your husband, right?" Arabella froze, she hadn't expected Noah Hall to bring up the subject to herself.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

The man coughed lightly and bowed his head to open his lips, "Maybe this will upset you, but it seems to me that no matter what difficulties are encountered in a marriage, it is most important for women to be able to protect themselves."

"Although I don't know what misunderstanding there is between you two, if you are willing to trust me, I can introduce you to a more experienced divorce lawyer. He's very good at issues involving the division of large amounts of joint spousal property, so just leave the relevant paperwork to him."

Noah Hall was uncomfortable with himself offering to mention someone else's personal business, but he forced himself to look over at Arabella, his thin lips pursed slightly nervously.

It had only been a few times that he had seen her at the hospital, yet he somehow cared a little too much for the woman in front of him.

Arabella looked at him with some surprise, not sure why he was saying such a thing to himself, but grateful that he was looking out for himself.

"Thank you Doctor Hall," the woman smiled and pulled back her hanging hair, her eyebrows arched in an extraordinarily gentle way, "but I can't get a divorce just yet."

Her father was still in Ezra's hands, and there was no way she was just going to give up now. If such persistence would bore Ezra enough to even be willing to let Ruth's family off the hook on this, then why wouldn't she?

"I certainly won't waste any more time on men who don't love me, after all, that's the best way to spare him and myself."

"But Ezra and I have other things to take care of besides my own marriage. I can't just run away first because I'm selfish, there are more important things waiting for me right now."

Arabella had a firm look in her eyes, a soft tone like she was saying something very ordinary, and a faint smile at the person in front of her.

In due course a slight warm breeze passed through the hall, and the crisp tea-flower scent of the woman's body swept distantly across Noah Hall's nose.

He looked at Arabella, the worry floating in his heart settling.

Noah Hall was unaware of her affair with Ruth's family, but knew that the woman before her was by no means the bunny in the crowd's eye.

"Well, enough about me." Arabella smiled and raised her glass to the man in front of her and asked with a joking tone, "Doctor Hall young talent and so gentle and considerate to others, is there any girl so lucky to be by your side?"

Seeing that the woman had changed the topic so quickly and was still in the mood to tease herself, Noah Hall smiled helplessly, "Miss Ruth, don't be angry at my friend's joke just now. I'm so busy with my work, what kind of girl would want to be held up by me like that?"
