The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) -
Chapter 698
"Yeah." Charles's eyes flickered with determination. "Don't worry, I won't let myself down, and I definitely won't let you down either."
This matter was something that had to be resolved sooner or later. Before, he was not in a hurry because Noelle was not by his side. However, now that she was here and had become his wife, this obstacle needed to be cleared away. He intended to give her a life free of hindrances, a world without worries. He wanted to offer her a life of pure bliss, one that was filled with only him.
"I know, and I believe in you," Noelle said. She started feeling a bit tired and yawned.
Charles looked down at her, then glanced at the time. "It's late. Let's sleep."
"Okay." Noelle nodded but leaned in to kiss him softly on the lips before closing her eyes. "Goodnight, Charlie."
"Goodnight, Nelly," Charles replied, watching as Noelle quickly drifted into a peaceful sleep.
His gaze softened, and he gently lay her down, tucking the blanket around her.
Just as he was about to get up, Noelle's hand gripped his tightly. Charles sighed as he looked at her with a smile.
He lightly patted her hand. "It's okay, I'm not leaving. I'm just going to take a quick shower. I'll be back soon."
Hearing this, Noelle relaxed, her brows smoothing out. Even in her sleep, she did not want to let go of him.
Charles' entire being radiated warmth and tenderness. He was completely enveloped in this gentle glow. His heart felt so soft, and it was all because of her.
Noelle woke up feeling incredibly rested. Her body was wrapped around something warm, like a cozy heater. As she opened her eyes, she immediately found herself staring into his deep, dark eyes. She squinted slightly and smiled. "Good morning, Charlie."
"Morning," he replied, his deep voice sounding especially alluring in the early morning.
Noelle nuzzled her head against Charles' chest. "I thought you might've left, that maybe last night was just a dream."
"No, I'm real," Charles assured her, taking her hand and placing it against his chest.
Her palm rested over his heart. She felt the warmth and the strong, rhythmic heartbeat beneath it. It was so vivid, so real. Noelle beamed and hugged him tightly. "This is wonderful."
"It's getting late. We should get up," Charles said as he effortlessly lifted Noelle out of the blanket.
She let out a startled cry and quickly clung to his neck. "Be careful!"
"I won't drop you." He chuckled.
"Aren't you going to leave?" Noelle glanced at the clock. "It's getting late. What if Janet's people see you?"
"Don't worry," Charles reassured her. "You'll leave first, and once they follow you, I'll head out."
He carried her into the bathroom,
holding her securely as he squeezed some toothpaste onto her
toothbrush. "Brush your teethel.
Noelle pouted. "Put me down. How am I supposed to brush my teeth
like this? I'm a grown woman, you're treating me like a child
but
Seeing herself clinging to him like a koala bear in the mirror, she could not help but laugh at how
uncharacteristically needy she had become. "Come on, put me down!"
