Janet's people had been following Noelle, but they had not found anything suspicious about her. Every time, Noelle either went straight home after work or spent time with colleagues shopping or dining. She had absolutely no contact with Charles.

The people tailing Noelle were assigned to Janet by the Bakers. Janet was aware of their capabilities and did not question their findings. When she left Cascade City, she had not informed Xavier. Now that Xavier had returned to Brookville, he had not contacted her. This left Winter feeling deeply anxious.

Not only Xavier but even Joseph and Emilia had not reached out to offer any comfort or inquire about the truth behind the rumors. They were simply ignoring her plight. Winter had been staying at the Shaw residence for two weeks now. She was looking more and more haggard. Her face had turned pale, almost devoid of color. During this time, Winter had not left the house and had no job opportunities. She simply sank further into despair.

As Jade witnessed her daughter's state, she felt a constant ache in her heart. She struggled to sleep each night, desperately thinking of ways to resolve the issue.

Watching his wife pacing back and forth, Julian could not help but frown. He put down his newspaper, his irritation showing as he asked, "What on earth are you doing, Jade? You're making my head spin." "What am I doing? What do you think I'm doing?" Jade snapped, angered by Julian's indifferent attitude.

"Are you going to do something about Winter's situation or not? Do you have any idea how badly she's e being trashed online right now? She hasn't dared to step outside for weeks. When has my daughter ever had to endure such humiliation?"

"What can I do? Our family doesn't have connections in the entertainment industry," Julian replied impatiently.

"Besides, this whole ordeal has hurt our company's reputation too. I've been working myself to death trying to contain the damage. What else do you expect from me? I don't@ven know who's behind all this.

"Didn't Winter sign with Royal Star? Why aren't they handling this? And what about that Charles? Wasn't he close to us previously?"

Julian's words suddenly sparked an

idea in Jade's mind. She recalled

Winter's wedding, which Charles had attended but not due to his

relationship with Joseph. Jade remembered how angry Joseph and Emilia looked that day.

Charles' mother might carry the Hoffman surname, but she did not have much of a connection to Joseph.

Jade later learned that Joseph was just an opportunist, misleading them into believing he was also part of Brookville's Hoffman family, which he was not at all.
