Jay-a POV

Jay-la felt the moon set just after 6pm and bit her l*p, she knew what Nathan suspected, where Ethan was concerned She turned and looked at Margaret who was nervously pacing around in the Luna Suite herself. Jackson had told her what they all thought, she’d stared at him for a moment and then prayed to the Goddess herself to bring joy and happiness to her older brother once more.

They both knew that Ethan was with Nathan and his unit, getting ready or should be, though the ceremony didn’t start till 8 tonight, she and he had discussed it, shifted it two hours from the moon setting. That way, any newly turned 18 year old wolves could scent out and find their Mate’s if the goddess saw fit to pair them up.

If Maya was Ethan’s Mate, then he would know, be able to scent her out, likely hunt her down, and ask her out officially. As was the custom, shed heard he was sleeping with the girl and Jay-la only hoped that it wasn’t just to keep Maya away from Stephen. Though from what she could tell, neither Suzy or Elena actually knew Maya was seeing anyone, that was being kept from both of them.

She wasn’t going to interfere in it, would wait on the outcome, was not as anxious as Margaret was. There were also a few other packs Alpha and Luna’s here today, had arrived late yesterday prior to the storm. Even Alpha Austin had brought a few of his ranked members with him, as well as her grandmother.

So, there were plenty of chances for wolves pairing off tonight, though both she and Nathan had expressed their wishes that any pairing off, Marking and Mating be done behind closed doors in one or the other’s rooms, due to there being nearly a dozen humans in the pack. All had agreed

She reached out for Nathan himself, after about 10 minutes. She couldn’t stand the not knowing, thought he would have mind-linked to her already with the news.’ How’s it going?’

‘Good, um a bit of a shock for you coming.’

‘What?’

‘Clara paired up, it seems, with one of ours, will be moving here. Austin chuckled and congratulated him. Told him she was a handful just like you are.’

‘Who?’ she gasped, completely shocked herself by this news. ‘Does mum know yet?’ That was going to be a big shock for her mother. Her father had passed away a very long time ago, when her mother was like ten in a rogue attack on their pack, and her grandmother had never really left the pack since, just trained and held a high warrior status. Had not been on the look out for a new Mate.

“I don’t know, but he didn’t really get a say. She looked right at him, smirked and stated, ‘I hope you can handle me boy!

Sank her fangs right into him, with relish from what I can tell. He sounded fully amused to her.

“Who is it?’ she asked again. ‘does he know who she is?’

“Gregory, the warrior that collected Suzy and her family.

And I don’t know to be honest. Though she had been standing with Alpha Austin at the time.’

She smiled to herself, her whole family was going to be here now. Gregory had been hand picked by Stephen to watch over her and then left to watch over his own Mate. A good strong warrior, trusted by the pack Gamma. He was tall dark and broody, from what she could tell. All muscled up too, her grandmother was going to like that. Hed also not been Mated before, or not that she knew of, she’d not seen any mating scars on him.

‘Hope mum’s okay with that. How old is he?’

‘Thirty five, I believe. So, a lot younger than her.’

‘No kidding she’s 80. Got herself a toy boy. Jay-la chuckled softly. and heard Nathan laugh at her choice of words as well ‘I’m really happy for her’ and she was, took her a long time to find a second chance Mate. Gregory had not been here the last time her grandmother had been in the pack, had still been in L.A., if shed not come today could well have never know who he was to her.

She was now even more glad that they had put off the Luna Ceremony, seemed it was a good idea all around. ‘ Ethan?’ she finally asked the question she was itching to know.

“wandered off: He commented Who knows where? Simply stated TIl be back boss.’ I told him he had better be.

“Not so harsh, Nathan.’

“I wasn’t harsh, he needs to be at your Luna Ceremony. I was just reminding him. I said it with a smile.’

“Which one of you is tailing him?’

Heard Nathan laugh Jackson, who else when he’s mated to the man’s sister. He’s got some orders, I believe. You’ll likely know before I do.

Tl let you know when I know then.’ She chuckled and closed the mind-link to him. Looked at Margaret she was biting her l*p nervously, wanted to tell her and Rae-Rae about her grandmother but Suzy was here in the room and

– wouldn’t understand how she knew, was going to wait.

Took almost another ten minutes before she looked at Jay-la and nodded her head, heard her phone ring a moment later and watched Margaret answer it, smiled right away, obviously she and Jackson had discussed how this would go, with Suzy in the room. “What really, oh that’s so sweet, I thought he liked her. Can I tell everyone.” Closed the phone and she watched Margaret look around the room, to each of them.

“Suzy,”

“Yes Margaret?”

“I hope you don’t mind, but my brother has just gone and asked your sister out.”

“Oh.” Was the simple response.

“I guess having dinner with

him is okay, he might have to get passed mama first.

“I’s not dinner, asked her to be his girlfriend.” Margaret told her.

“Oh!” Suzy sounded more than shocked by this, “Which one is your brother?”

“Ethan.”

“The guy that hangs out with Stephen, always got a book in his hand?”

“Yes, that’s the one. Are you okay with this?”

Suzy shrugged “She can date who she wants to.”

Jay-la sat next to her. “He’s a nice guy, and that would mean, shed get to stay here if they work out, you’d have family here.” She knew there was some difficulties between Suzy and her sister, but that was about to vanish altogether. She also knew Suzy did love her sister deep down.

“That would be nice, if it works out. Maya’s not exactly steady girlfriend material. A nice girl mostly, but.” She shrugged.

“You know you have nothing to worry about right.” Jay-la told her “Stephen dotes on you, these last couple of weeks, have been good with him, yes.”

“Yes.” She smiled, blushed a little “I like him too. Kind of glad he’s okay with not rushing things.”

“Has the patience of a saint.” Jay-la chuckled. “He will go at whatever pace you like.”

“I know.” Suzy smiled at her, “barely get the man to k**s me, but I get the feeling he wants to.”

“Perhaps you should k**s him first, let him know it’s okay You’re pretty much in charge of the pace your relationship is moving.”

She nodded “That’s a nice feeling.”

She mind-linked to Nathan once she knew Suzy was okay with it, Ethan and Maya as expected by the unit. Would he be as patient as Stephen, she didn’t know, only knew thạt Ethan and Maya were already sleeping together. So they might move a bit quicker than Stephen and Suzy.

Nathan she could tell was happy for Ethan, his whole unit was all paired up now and soon to be Marked and Mated as well. It was even a nice feeling for her, to know that all of her friends had met their Mates. Two of them still had to sort that out, wait a little longer, having human Mates, but she was really happy for them all.

Today was turning out to be a really good day for all. She really liked that today on her Luna Ceremony day, pack members were pairing up, pack members that meant something to her, and her grandmother. Mind-linked to her mother to see if she knew yet, didn’t seem to, giggled at her mothers What honey?’

‘Um mum, grandmother just paired up.’

“What!!!’ complete shock was heard, then there was stunned silence for nearly 20 seconds ‘who is it?’

Why don’t you go find out. Got herself a youngen.’ Heard her mother burst out laughing oh I’m going! And then the mind-link was cut.

Jay-la chuckled to herself as her phone chimed, she reached down and looked at it Spill it it was

Rae Rae

Jay-la smiled at them, Seems my grandmother has found herself a boyfriend today to.”

Saw all of them stare at her “Who?” Margaret asked

“Gregory.” She chuckled and looked at Suzy “Do you remember him?”

“Yeah, that big security guy.” She nodded “Your grandmother, you say?”

“Yep, a bit of a cougar.” She laughed, they all laughed at her statement, even Suzy.

“Come on let’s get you all pampered and done up before putting that dress of yours on, hey” Rae-Rae said getting up, “I know there’s a lot going on but it’s your day Jay-la.

Let’s try and remember that. Michael told me just how important today is for not just you but Nathan and everyone here. Let’s not disappoint.”

She did know that Rae-Rae was being educated now about how things worked in their world, sat and had lessons with Luna Darla, talked with Jay-la about things she was curious on and had that all important meeting with Deena to discuss a wolf’s heat. That she’d just laughed about.

Hadn’t gone into heat yet, been Marked and Mated a whole month now still nothing.

Luna Darla told her it could be a little slower because she was human originally, and the way her Marking and Mating wasn’t so traditional, the rushing of it might alter that a little. It would happen likely after this full moon, there was nothing to really concern herself with it. It would happen when the Goddess saw fl was all.

On the bright side, it had not happened to cross over with her Luna Ceremony, or when Lauren and Tony were here, She was still hoping that it wouldn’t. She didn’t know how that would go down if Rae-Rae was suddenly gone and unavailable to see them on such short notice

Pearl understood with inherited knowledge that she couldn’t be seen or heard by Lauren and Tony. Stayed inside of Rae-Rae and was apparently pretty calm most of the time, a little on the laid-back side for a wolf. Didn’t really concern herself with the day-to-day life of Rae-Rae’s doings.

*Jay-la let the girls do her hair and assist with her make-up.

Rae-Rae shook her head at the jewellery as it was put on her, “He spent a lot on your gifts, custom made, I’ve never seen anything like this. Willing to bet he designed them himself as well. Loves you Jay-la, never thought I’d believe it, you know.”

Jay-la looked at her “I know, took me a while as well.”

“Good, you should never just fall at his feet.”

“I won’t be, always going to challenge him on things I don’t like.” She smiled and saw Rae-Rae nod.

“We’ll meet you downstairs your father will be here soon to escort you down.” She watched all of them leave the Luna Suite and was alone with her thoughts for the first time all day long. “Kora?’

‘I’m happy, you’re happy’

Got snorted at I’ve been a Luna wolf since the day he mate me. I’m okay with that’

“Of course, you are. Jay-la chuckled Loved your mate, forgave him right away.

*Of course, 1 did, he was given to me by the goddess herself. Why would I not? You were the stubborn one, though I know why. They are ours, the good and the bad, the past is not so good, forgiven but not forgotten, I’ll bite him if you want me to, right in his handsome face: She chortled, ‘or his bottom.’

Jay-la chucked herself, didn’t doubt that Kora would do just that if he ticked her off enough.
