The Defiant Luna -
Chapter 66: The End
Jay-la
She stood in the Luna Suite, in her bridal dress. It was a long flowing Greek Goddess style gown, in a soft white.
She had wanted to thank the Goddess herself in some small way and she always envisaged her in something similar, being a goddess and all. Probably too much TV over the years and what everyone thought Goddesses wore.
But she did love the sparkling glittering rope, looked silver but wasn’t, that wound round her waist and then under her breasts to cross over in the centre of her chest and follow up the edges of the top of the dress and became the straps that then crisscrossed over her back to attach to the back of the dress down at her waist. Her back fully exposed.
Also liked all the glittering ropes that dangled off of each shoulder, five loops each a slightly bigger size than the one before it, to layer down her upper arms.
The lower half of the dress fell in soft gentle flowing layers, nothing to fancy, but she just loved it from the moment she’d tried it on. Was more of a summer wedding dress, but she had purchased a long white cape with a hood that had a fuzzy fluffy edge, was quite cute had been expecting to wear it. Now she didn’t have to the ceremony was indoors due to the snow.
Her long dark hair was curled and left in sweeping layers around her face, shed received a Luna’s gift from Nathan this morning, only been allowed to see him because he wanted to give it to her in person. Lauren had stared at him long and hard, then stated “the groom is not supposed to see the bride on the wedding day.”
He’d stated “I have a gift for her, to wear today and I’d like to give it to her myself. I had it specially made for her.
She’d been in the Luna Suite smiling at the conversation.
He’d actually had to show Lauren what it was before she’d allowed him in. Her dress was in the bedroom so it hadn’t been a problem, he wouldn’t see it.
He had presented her with his gifts, right in front of everyone, didn’t seem to mind all that much. Shed only been wearing a white silk dressing gown and his eyes had slid right over her. He’d mind-link right to her “Lucky you’re not alone in here.” Shed just smiled at him.
He’d stood there and thanked her right in front of everyone for giving him another chance. For taking him back and accepting him, told her he loved her and would never love another. Before presenting her with the three velvet boxes he was carrying.
She’d wanted to k**s him, had been snagged by Lauren and Rae-Rae told not till your married, making everyone in the room laugh, including Nathan himself. Shed opened them in the order he’d handed them to her in, the largest first.
In it was a circular pendant of diamonds and Sapphires.
Looked like to her the full moon with three sapphire crescent moons inside it. That pendant was attached to a short straight white gold filigree chain, which joined to a full diamond necklace
“One moon for each of our children” he’d smiled at her as she’d touched it. “Only had three then, when I had it designed.” He’d chuckled when she looked up at him.
“It’s beautiful.” She’d told him.
Hed just smiled at her and then tapped the next box, it was long and thin. She could see where this was going.
Opened it to find a bracelet inside, matched the necklace though the moons were all separate, like a charm bracelet.
“Room for more on that one.” He chuckled softly. “I got that right I think.”
In the third box were earrings, simple but elegant, two pretty drop style earrings, again curved like a crescent moon, sapphires on the inside and diamonds around them.
“I love them.” she smiled up at him, stood up and no-one stopped her from kissing him softly on the mouth, “I’ll wear them today.”
“Every day.” He murmured right back.
“Special occasions.” She countered.
“Hm, bracelet and earrings every day.” He suggested right back.
Jay-la chuckled “alright.” She nodded and saw him smile right down at her, obviously wanted her to wear them all the time. Though she had a feeling they were on the pricey side of things and jewellery like that should be worn on special occasions only. Well, in her eyes anyway. He’d been shown out after that.
Now she stood in front of the mirror and touched that necklace, even Kora liked it, his reasonings behind it suited her wolf as well. Heard her father state “Are you ready baby girl.” She looked to him the mirror and nodded. He was smiling right at her, dressed in pack colours, she realised, didn’t think she’d ever seen him wear that before.
“You look beautiful, I like the dress, going to shock your Mate though.” He chuckled.
“To much skin?”
“No.” he tucked her hand into the crook of his arm and smiled right at her “you look like a Goddess.”
She smiled up at him it was kind of what she was going for. Slipped on those blinged out stiletto’s and they were off. “Are you nervous baby girl?”
“Not really, we’ve been together a while, been through a lot in that time, I know he loves me and I love him. Kind of have wanted this my entire life.”
“I know.” He murmured “Now here it is. I hear he has two more surprises up his sleeve.”
Jay-la looked up at her father and he chuckled softly at her questioning look, “I’m not going to tell you, you’ll find out tomorrow morning, I believe.”
“You torture me you know.”
“I know.” He grinned right down at her “I’s my job as your dad to torment you and Brad for that matter, at will.”
Jay-la shook her head “and I thought mum was full of mischief.”
“Oh, she is. Been holding out on you for days now.” He laughed heartily
Jay-la stepped into the ballroom on her father’s arm, smiled up at the flowers as she walked under them all her favourite’s white roses, with little hints of blue orchards amongst them, same as her bouquet, could see from here.
Nathan was not in his pack suit, it was what shed been expecting. but there he stood in a full tuxedo, as were all his unit. As they stood up there next to him, Rae-Rae, Margaret had preceded her into the room along with Suzy, she’d been a little shocked by the invite had tried to turn her down but none of them were having it.
Shed reluctantly agreed and was now up there as well, all the girls were wearing a sheath illusion neckline and soft blue chiffon dress that fell to the floor in flowing material.
Looked stunning up there with bouquets of blue orchids of their own, all their hair was swept to the side and fell in curls down over their right shoulders. Looked amazing up there, she thought to herself.
Walked up the stairs with her father and was handed over to Nathan, after a k**s on her temple and told to behave.
Luna Darla was standing right there to preform the ceremony, would not allow anyone else to do it. Was her duty, it seemed, to announce the new Luna and hand her to the pack.
Nathan stood smiling at her, she saw Havoc push forward for a moment and smiled right at her, call her beautiful before relinquishing back to Nathan. Hed just smiled at her afterwards. The ceremony was simple and everyone was asked to take a moment of silence to pray for the couple
Though that moment of silence was for Nathan to formally announce her to the pack as their Luna and thank the Goddess Selena herself for gifting him with a truly wonderful gift. One he would love and adore, even when she was being stubborn or he annoyed her, knew she would have it in her heart to forgive him. She heard nearly the whole pack chuckle at that. Accepted her position as the Luna to the pack, and told the entire pack she was thankful for being here, would do her best to be a good Luna, to help lead them and put their Alpha in his place when he needed it. Got more laughing from the pack.
Saw him smile right at her when the mind-link was over and she chuckled, couldn’t help herself, just like he hadn’t been able to. They were likely to always butt heads, but as long as they loved each other, all could be worked out, a compromise to be had, they were both stubborn and strong willed.
There was dinner and dancing, lots of music and photographs galore, though he pulled her to the side of the room at one point, out of the merriment. To a quiet corner by a vase of flowers and looked down at her, a soft smile on his face as he looked at her. She smiled up at him in much the same way.
Leaned into his hand as it cupped her face gently “I love you, Jay-la.” He told her softly, heard a little of Havoc in that statement. Right before he leaned down to k**s her softly, lingeringly, a moment away from everyone, for just the two of them.
The snow was still falling and heavily when they returned to their suite that night, the triplets had fallen asleep already and stepping outside onto the balcony, as was his plan was out of the question at that time, Nathan told her he wanted to present her to the moon goddess on the full moon, as was her right to be.
She’d just smiled up at him, “I think she knows.” Jay-la told him softly as he stood behind her in their bedroom, his • arms around her as she leaned back against him, and the two of them looked out the window to the heavily falling snow, there was no moon to be seen tonight, mother nature had cloaked her from all.
“I hear you have two surprises to give me.”
Heard him chuckling softly “I do, but not till breakfast, we’ll be having breakfast with your family just so you know. It’s all been pre arranged, a late breakfast.” He smiled against her neck, “no getting up earlier for either of us.”
“Oh, is that right?” Jay-la teased right back.
“Mm hmm.” She could hear the desire in him now, even smell him “It won’t just be me tonight, Havoc wants to love you as well.”
“Goddess I’m going to be utterly exhausted.” She chuckled and turned to face him, smile up at him and then laughed when she saw Havoc right there on the surface, in full control, a little playful growl rolling out of him, down at her
“Mine first.”
Jay-la woke to the sound of her mother’s voice inside her mind, “Are you coming for breakfast?”
“Mm, I hear we are.” She yawned, had barely gotten a few hours sleep, between Havoc and Nathan and then Havoc and Kora, she was well sated and still tired
“Well, sleepy head, breakfast will be ready in 20 minutes.
Get your butts up and down here, Nathan knows where.”
“Alright.” She sighed and her eyes finally opened, and found Nathan looking right at her and shook her head at the smile on his face. “Aren’t you at all tired?”
“A little.” He nodded “We can have an early night, or nap during the day. Come on, breakfast I hear is nearly ready.”
They got up and showered and to her surprise he held out a blind fold for her to put on, raised an eyebrow at him,
“
One last surprise.” He smiled
She shook her head but let him blind fold her, walked her out of the suite. She could hear the children laughing as they followed along, chatting about breakfast with grandma and grandpa. Got in the elevator and knew he was trying to confuse her told the children to press all the buttons, it stopped on all the floors went down and up and then down again until she laughed and said enough already.
Heard all of them laughing as she was finally steered out of the elevator and down the hall, into a room where she could hear her whole family, mum and dad, Brad and Victoria as well. Finally, she was allowed to see where they were as the blindfold came off.
Looked around her and blinked, knew they were still in the pack-house somewhere, but recognised the furniture from her parents home instanly. Realised her parents had moved into a suite here in the pack-house, turned her eyes on Nathan more than surprised. He smiled right at her. “I thought it might be nice to have your family here in the pack house to be close to you.”
Smiled right up at him, “I would.” She nodded, felt tears prick her eyes at the gesture he was making, knew it had to be hard for him. None of them really got along, though it had been better between her parents and Nathan since she’d been taken and hed gotten her back. Something had changed for her father that day she thought. Perhaps he saw Nathan in another light. Who knew, they’d not discussed it with her, what had happened on their end between them. Only that she’d seen over the few weeks since getting back that her father was nice to him, not overly so, but talked to Nathan without hesitation.
Jay-la hugged him to her and then turned and looked at her family, pointed right at her father, “You.” she stated.
He just grinned at her, “We’ve been here for three days now, that was not easy to keep from you.”
“Three days?”
“Yes, had you all preoccupied with your ceremony, so not so bad considering where we are.”
“Where we are? What floor are we on?” she had no idea she had been blindfolded the whole time.
“The Alpha floor.” Her mother told her.
Jay-la blinked completely in surprise looked to Nathan ” Down mum and dads end.” He nodded “There’s more.
“What?” she turned at the sound of Brad clearing his throat and looked at him.
“Victoria and I moved into a suite on the fourth floor, I didn’t think it appropriate to be up here on the Alpha
“What?” she gasped, never in a million years did she see Brad moving in here to the pack-house. He still really didn’t talk to Nathan or not that she had seen in the past few weeks.
“Gotta keep my eye on your Mate, make sure he treats you right.” He stated, but there was a hint of a smile on his face.
She laughed softly and went over to hug them all. This was probably a better gift than anything he had gotten her since coming home. They all sat in the dining room to eat breakfast, and there was a lot of chatter, even Nathan talked with everyone, not quiet like he had been at her last family dinner.
Watched as Brad poked Nate in the chest, “Well young man, I hope you can handle me doing all your training when you grow up. You’re wolf is going to be good and strong when I’m done with him.”
Saw Nate smile at him. “My wolf will be big like dads wolf,
Havoc.”
“Good.” Brad chuckled softly.
Jay-la stared at her brother, she knew he’d given up that position long ago, he just smiled at her “What, who else would I trust to train the future of the pack.” Laughed “Not the old man, he’s too old now for that. Better he stick to the juniors
“Watch it boy, I can still take you” there was a sternness to her father’s voice but she knew them well enough to know they were just teasing each other, its what the did. “I like the juniors not so much l*p as the ones hell have to deal with.” he pointed right at the triplets ‘Like their mother they are.’
She smiled at them as they bickered and took pot shots at each other. It was just like back in the day, the two of them always picking on each other, knew at some point they’d been chasing each other around the room trying to see who was the strongest now. Her hand found Nathans and she squeezed it as she watched them mind-linked right to him ‘Thank you.’
He squeezed her hand back under the table. ‘I will do everything to bring happiness to you Jay-la.’ She looked at him and he smiled right at her. She knew he meant it.
Shed not asked for this, this had been something he’d done on his own. Probably had not been easy for him to do either, not with her family and the distance that had been created by him over her banishment.
But he’d gone out of his way to do this, find a way to convince not just her parents, but Brad himself to move into the pack-house. He’d not even asked her about it. He knew how close she had been to them, how close she was to them still and just wanted her to be happy. So he had found a way to make it happen for her.
Jay-la could have sworn she felt like she loved him just that little bit more right this minute.
