The Fall Ball
Chapter 25

(Rose)

I walk up to our floor and head straight into my room. Shortly after getting there I hear the main door open and close. I assume it is Craig just coming in as he is supposed to be watching over me at all times.

I decide to change so I can lay down and be comfortable. I have a strange feeling all over. I feel tingly and itchy at the same time.

Think I will shower first to see if I can get this feeling to go away. I grab a pair of panties, sweatpants and a t-shirt and head into the bathroom. I turn on the shower and strip off my clothes. I check the water temperature; it’s just right, so I step in.

I stand under the water for a while just trying to relax and relieve the stress. I avoid thinking about anything and just try to space out. The more I think, the more questions I have and the more stress I have.

I grab the loofah and put the soap on it. I wash my body and rinse the soap off. I grab the shampoo and wash my hair. Massaging my scalp as I do it, it feels amazing. I then repeat the steps with my conditioner. As I am rinsing the conditioner I realize that my hair has grown extremely fast.

Before the dreams started, my hair was touching my mid back. It is now down to my h**s. It has grown a few inches in just a few weeks. That’s strange. Maybe I will get it cut while I’m here.

I finish my shower and get out. I grab one of the fluffy towels and dry off. Then I put on my comfy clothes. I grab the dirty clothes and towel and drop them off into the basket. I will have to find the laundry room in this place, so that I can wash my clothes.

I head out of the bathroom and gasp. I am shocked at who I see.

In my room sitting on my bed in just his jeans is Ash!

His dark brown hair is a mess. And he is looking at his folded hands on his lap.

He looks up at me when he realizes he is not alone. His beautiful gray blue eyes watch me for a minute.

“Craig let me in, and told me this was the room you chose. I heard the shower running and decided to wait for you to finish.” He says looking at me.

“Oh, Okay,” I say to him. “Is there something you wanted to talk to me about?”

“Umm, no not really. I did want to apologize for running off the way I did. I didn’t handle that well. Was just a shock to see your eyes change so dramatically,” He tells me, with a small smile.

“Yeah, that was a first for me too. It had never happened before. I seem to be having a lot of first and new experiences lately. And I have a lot going on. Too many questions and not enough answers,” I say with a sigh.

“I am just so stressed and confused. I have a horrible migraine and was planning to lay down for a little while before supper.” I tell him while sitting on the bed. He nods at me.

“Well I will leave and let you sleep,” he says, standing up to leave.

“Umm… actually I have a strange question for you.” I say while blushing and looking away.

“Ask away,” he says with a smile.

“My migraine has seemed to go away with you being in the room. Would you mind laying with me? We can both rest, you look a little tired as well.” I ask him.

His eyes go wide. “I don’t share beds with people. I don’t like to be touched; I like to keep to myself.” He says as he stands up.

I giggle at him. “I wasn’t asking you to touch me or to let me touch you. I just thought we could rest together. Nothing more.”

“I guess that would be okay. But you stay on your side and I will stay on mine. The bed is spacious enough to share. And this way no one can come and interrupt me, as they don’t know where I am.” He says with a small smile.

“Okay then,” I say, while walking up to the bed. He walks up the other side.

“I’ll lay on top of the covers; I stay a lot warmer than you.” He tells me.

“Why do you say that?” I ask him.

“Dad filled me in on some things about you while you were out shopping. Our wolves keep us warm, and since you have an inactive wolf you won’t stay as warm as I do.” He tells me.

“Ah, okay then. But if you get cold there is enough blanket to share.” I tell him with a smile.

I get under the covers and face the window. I feel him lay on the bed. He is all the way on the other edge of the bed, lying on his back. Looking up at the ceiling.

I hear his breathing level out and I can tell he fell asleep. I listen to his breathing and I notice that I can also hear his heartbeat. My senses are getting stronger. And his smell is amazing, he smells of the forest after the rain.

I lay there listening to his heartbeat and I fell asleep rather quickly.

As I drift off I can hear my name being called from the darkness.

I can already tell that this is another dream in the void. I wonder who I will see this time.
