Chapter 26

(Rose)

I open my eyes and I’m in the void, just like I thought. I look around me and I see nothing. But someone is calling my name.

I start walking and following the sound. Then I see her. Selene, she is so beautiful. She turns to me with a smile on her face.

“Hello, my dear Rose, how have you been?” She says to me with a smile.

This frustrates me. I am sure she knows how I have been, but I answer her anyways.

“How have I been? How do you think I have been?” I ask her.

She just looks at me, its like she is waiting on me to continue. So I do.

“Since you first appeared in my dreams, my life has been flipped upside down. I have so many questions and no answers.” I tell her.

“My body has changed. My eyes are doing strange things with my emotions. It’s extremely nerve-wracking. My body healed itself after I was extremely hurt. I have strange marks on my scars that I received.”

“My dreams are all over the place. I am pretty sure that I dreamed, a premonition. I dreamed of a wolf I had never met before. Then I met the wolf. And I have a strange voice that speaks to me every now and again.”

“I felt sparks, which makes me think I met my mate. But as I have no wolf I can’t have a mate, can I? The voice in my head said, “Mate”, when I met the person.”

“But then my eyes did the strange thing and he ran from me. Then I got this really terrible migraine. But when I was close to this person the migraine faded away and I have the strange pull to be close to him at all times.”

“And before I was brought here. I was lying down with him. We both decided to take a nap before dinner. And I noticed that my scenes are heightened. I could hear his heartbeat and his smell drives me crazy. It’s the best thing in the world.”

“And now I am here telling you the things that are bothering me. And I am stressed and overwhelmed and I don’t know what to do.”

As I was ranting the moon goddess just watched me. She has a slight smile on her lips. Then I notice that we are no longer alone and that Lilly is lying at her feet.

“Oh and another thing. I had a dream with Lilly and Lilly alone. She said that I bring her peace and she needed my presence to sleep. And she made a strange sound. I think it is a calling.”

At this point, the goddess places her hands on my shoulders. She looks at me with a smile.

“Take a deep breath. Nice and easy. Try to calm down and relax. I am about to give you some information, but before I do that I need you to calm down.” She says to me.

I nod at her. And I reach out to touch Lilly. As my hand connects with her, I feel the spark and a smile forms on my face.

“Hello Rose, I am sorry to cause you so much trouble. I don’t want that for you. I want you to have peace and closure. Soon you will have all the answers you are looking for.” Lilly says to me.

I keep petting Lilly’s head; it is calming and brings me joy. I decided to sit down next to her. She then places her large head on my lap and starts her calling. I just smile and shake my head.

Selene sits down in front of me. She smiles at me and pats Lilly’s head. She looks at me and gets a serious look on her face.

“First of all, why do you think you have no wolf? You have been informed that you do in fact have a wolf. You have been told she is inactive. You should believe them, they are correct. As I have told you, you are a very special person.” She says with a smile.

“Yes you have told me that. But I have shown no signs of having a wolf, so that is why I believe I do not have one. Why would she not be active, if I have one?” I explain.

“You do have a wolf; she will show herself when she feels needed. And you are showing signs of her coming closer to the surface. Your body has changed in preparation. Your senses are heightened and you have heard her voice in your head.” Selene says to me.

Lilly picks her head up and looks at me and then lays back down.

“And you have a wolf. You will have a mate; you may have met them already. And for your premonition dream. As you are special, your wolf is also very special. You and your wolf will have powers that no one has seen in many years! Something bad is coming and you will be at the center of it.” She says.

“Why me? Why am I chosen to be at the center of it?” I ask her.

“It is because that is what I had planned. I knew that one day I would need someone with a heart of gold. Someone who is strong, physically, and mentally. Someone who I could trust to protect their people over themselves. And Rose, you are all of those things.” She says with a smile.

“OK, I am all of those things. But what am I supposed to do?” I ask her.

She smiles at me. And grabs my hands and squeezes.

“When the time comes, you will know what to do. Your wolf will be present to help you with all that you need, and your premonitions will become more frequent and will help you know what is to come. You will also receive more gifts. I cannot tell you what they will be, as that can alter the future that is set.” She tells me.

She lets go of my hands and looks at Lilly.

“It is time for us to send you back. And just remember that you will know what to do when the time comes. Our visits won’t be as often. I know my sister has reached out to you, and I do not want her to get any information.” She tells me while standing up.

I stand up and so does Lilly. She touches her nose to my hand.

“Goodbye for now, my Rose. I will see you soon,” she says and then walks over to Selene.

They both turn and walk away from me.

I can feel myself being pulled back to reality. As I start to open my eyes, I remember that Ash is in bed next to me. I can feel that he has moved closer to me.

He is still on top of the blankets, but he is all the way over on my side of the bed. He has his face buried in my hair and he has an arm draped over my waist. I blush while thinking of the intimate position we are in.

I hear a knock on the door.

“Rose, its time to get up and go eat with the King and Queen, we don’t want to be late.” Craig says to me.

I roll my eyes and ignore him. I try to remove Ash’s arm from around me, but he growls at me in his sleep.

I feel all tingly. And I am sure that Ash is my mate. But I will not acknowledge it until he does. I never intended to find my mate, I’m not sure if I want one.

I hear Craig knock on the door again.

“Rose I am coming in,” He says.

I yell at him to stop, but it is too late.

He opens the door and he freezes.

“What the hell is going on here? Why is Ash in your bed? Why is he spooning you?” He asks with a small smile on his face.

Before I can answer, Ash wakes up. He looks at our position and jumps out of the bed.

“I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” He says while rubbing the back of his neck.

“It’s okay,” I say to him with a smile on my face.

Craig chuckles at our exchange. This seems to startle Ash.

“s**t, I didn’t realize we had company. I am going to get out of here now. Please keep this between us. I don’t want everyone to know that I shared a bed with someone.” He says as he rushes out the door.
