Chapter 42

(Rose)

The king and I walk silently out of the kitchen. We join the group and we make our way to the office, but before we get to his door he turns and looks at us all.

“I think we may need to use the conference room,” he says with a smile.

“Ya that may be a better idea,” I say to him.

We head further down the hall. We get to the conference room and Alpha Jake is waiting for us. He smiles and opens the door.

We all take a seat around the table.

“So there are lots of us here today. We are all here for the same reason. I know that the majority of you already know everything that is being discussed. So let’s just get into it.” Alpha King James says.

“Rose is a very special person. She possesses a lot of power within her, and she needs training to help her control and access her talents. But with that she is also about to go through her first shift. As a royal it will be difficult for her body. She will probably start showing signs of her shift coming on today or early tomorrow, as it is normally about 24-48 hours before they turn 18.” The king explains to us. We all nod, to show him we are listening and have no questions.

“She will be trained by Raymond and his friends. They have been sent here by the goddess. They are going to train her in the woods, which is where the vampires are staying. They want to train her in the afternoon. She is able to bring whoever she wants with her to her training space.” The King says to us. Then he turns and looks at Ash.

“However, those of us who watch her train will not interfere. As this will not allow her to train properly, we will need to sit and observe and that is it.” He continues to explain.

Ash cuts in, “ Okay, so they are able to help train her with her abilities. But who will be training her and her wolf?” He asks and the others mumble under their breaths, wondering the same thing.

The king smiles. “You, her wolf will easily overpower you, but as an alpha your wolf won’t like that and will work harder to prove himself. But that will just cause Rose and her wolf to work harder to be better than you. This way you are both training each other.” The king explains.

“What if he hurts her?” My father cuts in and asks.

“He won’t be able to, as her mate he will only want to protect her and train her. So he won’t actually harm her.” Alpha Jake says.

At this point my mind is spinning in too many directions. I close my eyes. I start to feel hot, and my breathing has sped up. I feel like I am panicking.

“Rose, you need to calm down. Everything is okay. We are all here to help you be the best you that you can be. Take some deep breaths and focus on your mate.” Lilly says to me.

I open my eyes and everyone is watching me. “Rose, are you okay?” My mom asks me.

I nod at her, still trying to calm myself down.

“Your eyes have changed again; your wolf is present.” The king says to me and I nod at him.

“Yes, she said to focus on my mate and try to take deep breaths and calm down.” I say to him. I reach out for Ash’s hand. But he grabs hold of me and places me in his lap.

I snuggle into his chest and focus on my breathing. I stay like that for a little while. Once I am calm, I open my eyes to see that the others have all left the conference room. Ash also has his eyes closed.

I attempt to stand up, but Ash holds me tighter.

“Our parents thought that you may need some rest and that most of the details had already been discussed. So they left us in here. Are you better now?” Ash asks me.

“Ya I feel better, it was just a lot to process. I seem to have a lot going on right now.” I say to him.

He nods at me. “So what do you want to do now? I am all yours for the day.” He says to me with a smile.

“Can we just relax and lay down and watch movies? I really just want to do nothing.” I say to him.

He nods and stands up with me. I grab on to him tightly and he laughs at me.

“My dear Rose, I would not drop you. And I like you in my arms.” He says while leaving the conference room.

“So your room or mine?” He asks with a smile.

“Does your room have a bodyguard that is going to ask questions?” I ask.

He laughs at me. “No, no it doesn’t. So to my room we go.” He says as he walks down the hall.

We get to his room and he opens the door. I am surprised at how nice it looks. The room is clean and organized. “So how often do the omegas come in here and clean for you?” I ask as he sets me on the bed.

“Never, I like to keep things organized because then I can find everything I need.” He tells me with a smile. He turns on the TV. “So to the left of the TV is the bathroom and to the right is the closet.”

“What kind of movie do you want to watch?” He asks me.

“Um, I’m not really sure, you pick.” He nods at me and finds a movie. He then walks into the closet and tosses a t-shirt at me.

“I figured you wanted to be more comfortable for cuddles and movies,” He says while walking into the bathroom.

I change into his shirt, which is baggy on me. But it feels so comforting to be wrapped up in his smell. As I climb back onto the bed the bathroom door opens. And I look up and my breath catches.

“Breath Rose, and my eyes are up here,” he says with a smile. I just nod at him. He has also changed and is now wearing only dangerously low sweatpants. He walks up to the bed and flips the covers back. He crawls under them and before I can even move he has moved me under them with him.

“I could have gotten under here myself,” I say to him.

“Ya, I know. But I like my way better.” He says pulling me closer to him. I place my head on his chest and we lay that way watching the movie. As the movie ends my stomach growls.

“I guess we need to get lunch.” Ash says to me. “Ya I think so.” I tell him. I go to get up and put pants on so we can go down and eat. But Ash stops me.

“I linked one of the kitchen staff, they will bring our food up here.” He tells me.
