Chapter 44

(Rose)

I wake up and Ash is missing. I roll over and see a note.

“I didn’t want to wake you up. I have a meeting to attend this morning. Craig and Alex are in the living room keeping watch over you. When you get up please go down to the kitchen and eat something or have Alex link the staff to bring you something up. I will come find you once my meeting is over.”

I place the note down and decide that I can’t hide in the room the whole time. I might as well get up and face the world and all the things that are going on. I get in the shower and get ready for the day.

I see that Ash has had some of my clothes brought to his room for me. I pick out my clothes for the day, something simple. A plain white T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans.

Once I am showered and dressed I head into the living room. Craig and Alex are arguing over who is picking the show on TV. As I walk out they both bow to me.

“No need to bow,” I say shaking my head.

“Yes my queen,” Alex says to me. I look at him and glare.

“No need for formalities. I am still Rose.” I say and Craig chuckles at me. I look at him. “Something funny?” I ask.

“Nope, nothing at all Rose.” He says while watching me walk towards the door.

“Well let’s go eat, you two can argue over the TV later on. Right now I am starving.” I say as I open the door.

We walk in silence down to the kitchen. I step in and the staff all stop and bow to me before returning back to work on what they are making. I shake my head at them.

“This is going to take time to get used to.” I say under my breath.

I grab a plate and head to the buffet of food that has already been prepared. I put my food on my plate and head out to the dining room to sit and eat. Craig and Alex follow me out and sit next to me.

Opal comes out. She smiles as she hands me a card. “The Luna Queen wanted me to give this to you.” She says as she walks away.

“Rose, I hope you are feeling better today. However as it is Friday we have not had time to take you to get a dress for this evening. So I will have some dresses brought in this morning for you to try on and find one that you like. This evening we will be celebrating you. I will have a stylist come to your room and help get you ready for this evening.”

“Ugg… I forgot what day it is.” I say out loud.

“Is everything okay?” Craig asks from beside me as Alex picks up the card.

“Ya everything is fine, but with everything going on Rose didn’t get a dress picked out for tonight, and with everything else taking place today we don’t have the time to take her to get one. The Queen has some dresses coming in for her to try on.” Alex says putting the card on and going back to eating.

“That doesn’t sound too bad.” Craig replies, and resumes eating.

Ya not too bad for you, I have never had a nice dress and now I have to pick out a second one, I say to myself.

“You will be fine Rose, and I am here to help make sure you find the perfect one.” Lilly says in my head. I smile.

“Talking to your wolf?” I hear from behind me. I turn to see the King and Ash. I smile. “How did you know?” I ask.

“Well from what I have seen, when your wolf is present or you are talking to her, your eyes go electric green. My guess is that it is the color of your wolf’s eyes.” The King says with a smile.

“Oh, I didn’t realize that it happens every time.” I say while blushing. “Will that always happen?” I ask him.

He looked at me for a minute before answering. “I am not sure; I have never met someone as special as you and there isn’t a lot of documentation to help give us any answers.” He says. I nod at him in understanding.

“How did you sleep?” Ash asks as he walks up and k****s my forehead.

“I slept really well, woke up feeling better.” I reply with a smile.

“That’s good. I am headed to the Alpha meeting with my father. I hear that you have some dresses in my suite that you need to try on.” Ash says to me with a smile.

“Ya I got a note from your mom. She didn’t say where they were though. I can move them to my suite if you want.” I say while blushing.

Ash smiles at me, “They are fine in our suite. As mates, we will share a suite completely. When you are ready, I don’t want to rush you into anything.” He says while grabbing my hand and kissing the back of it.

“I have to go now. Enjoy your day, and I hope you find the perfect dress.” Ash says walking away with the King.

“Can your face turn any redder?” Craig asks me while laughing as I try to punch him in the arm and miss. Alex laughs at the two of us. We finish eating our breakfast and head back to Ash’s suite. As we open the door I am stopped in my tracks.

“I thought she said a few dresses, this is a few hundred dresses.” Craig says from behind me as we all look around the room.

“I don’t even know where to start.” I reply.

“My Queen, I am here to help you.” I hear from behind one of the racks. I smile as I see Raymond sitting on the couch.

“Why are you here?” I ask him.

“I figured we wouldn’t be training today, so I thought I could help you pick out a dress for this evening.” He says with a smile.

“Oh, great a vampire and two guards are going to help me find a dress. This should go over well.” I say sarcastically.

“Well let’s start with length. What length of dress do you want?” Raymond asks me. I think for a minute about it.

“I want a floor length dress.” I say.

“Ok,” He says then he rushes around the room removing all the short dresses.

“Now all we have is floor length dresses, “ He says with a smile. “Next, do you want strapless? Thin straps? Long sleeves? Short sleeves?” He asks me.

I look at him in shock. “This isn’t your first time helping pick out a dress is it?” I say.

“Not at all, I have done this many times over the last hundreds of years.” He says with a smile.

“Well, I know I don’t want long sleeves, but other than that I don’t know for sure.” He nods at me and starts walking around removing all of the long sleeves.

“Last question before you start trying them on. Do you want a ball gown style? A mermaid? Or an A-line?” He says with a smile.

“I don’t want a poofy ball gown, and I don’t want it tight on my legs… so I am guessing an A-line?” He nods at me and removes the dresses that are not what I want. We are left with about 30 dresses.

“Well this looks a lot less scary now.” Craig says from behind me and Alex nods.

“We would have still been standing here not sure what to do,” Alex says.

“Now my dear Rose, you need to start trying them on.” Raymond says while handing me a few dresses. I walk into the bedroom. I look around and am surprised to see Opal.

“We figured you would need some help to get into the dresses.” She says with a smile.

I nod at her, “Thanks so much.”

She helps me into the dress. I go out and all three guys shake their heads no at me. I didn’t like this one anyway. This continues for the next ten dresses. I am getting discouraged.

There is a knock on the door. I open it and see a package on the ground. I pick it up and place it on the table. There is a note attached.

“I heard you were struggling to find the perfect dress. I had picked this one out for you. But wanted you to pick one yourself. If you don’t like it that is okay. I just want you to find the dress that makes you the most happy.” Ash

“Well open it up, let’s see what he picked out.” Opal says from behind me. I smile and open the box. I pick up the most beautiful dress I have ever seen.

“That is beautiful,” Opal says. “Let’s go get it on you.”

We rush into the room and try it on. It is flawless. This is the dress for me. I open the bedroom door and step out in front of the guys. They all stare.

“It’s perfect. The style fits your body perfectly. And the electric green matches your eyes. Ash did an amazing job picking out this dress,” Raymond says. Craig and Alex nod in approval.

“Yes he did. I need to go find him and thank him.” I say rushing back to the room to take the dress off.
