Chapter 81

(Ash)

I walk out of the room and head into the kitchen with the dirty dishes. The kitchen staff greet me and ask how Rose is feeling. All they know is that Rose hasn’t been feeling well and has been staying to herself. I am so glad the kingdom will soon know the truth.

“Rose is doing better and will be at the meeting today.” I tell them all with a smile.

I turn and see my mom watching me. She has tears in her eyes. I walk up to her and give her a hug.

“Is everything okay?” I ask her.

“Yes, I am just so excited to be a grandma,” She whispers at me.

We walk out of the kitchen and into the dining room. It is currently empty.

“It is exciting, but I am terrified.” I tell her.

“You will do great. And if you or Rose ever need any help you have a whole kingdom that will be here by your sides.” Mom says to me.

“Do you know the gender yet?” She asks me.

“No, Rose will have an appointment soon to find out though.” I say to her with a smile.

“Well I have almost everything set up outside, so that we can all meet infront of the main stage. And the kitchen staff are going to be finishing up all the food here soon, so that they can be present for the meeting as well.” Mom says to me while looking around.

“And the vampires have offered to guard our borders so that all the guards can be present as well.” I say to her.

“That is good, everyone will be so delighted to hear the good news.” She says with a smile.

“I am going to go talk with dad and then go check on Rose, I will see you and Kat at 11am.” I tell her and start to walk away.

“See you soon.” She says walking towards the front door.

I walk up the stairs and look towards my door. I see that Alex, Craig and Raymond are standing guard. I shake my head at them and walk towards my dads office.

The three of them have been guarding Rose non-stop since they found out she is pregnant. Rose and Raymond have been working on her skills in the room. And she has greatly improved.

I walk in to my dads office and stop. I smile and greet the visiting Alpha.

“Welcome Alpha Jake. I am so glad you could make it. Rose will be so excited once she knows you are here.” I tell him.

“Of course, you said she had big news to tell. I wouldn’t miss it.” He says.

“Dad, Rose is going to open her mind reading gift during lunch today. She wants to see if anyone is thinking ill of her or the pregnancy after finding out.” I tell him.

“That is a good idea. But I do not think we have any problems within the kingdom. I do believe Sol was the biggest issue, and we haven’t heard anything on her in a few weeks. The vampires say that she is weak, and trying to bargain with Selene about a deal.” Dad says to me.

“Yes, Rose mentioned that after her last dream. Selene has checked in on Rose a few times. Sol is currently hiding in the Void, so Selene comes to Rose to speak to her. This way Rose is not going into any danger.” I tell my Dad.

We sit and talk for a while about issues in the packs around the kingdom.

“I have not heard anything that happened to John once he left with Ashlee. So I assume he is living a good rouge life. And none of the packs are having any rouge issues at the moment.” Alpha Jake says.

“It does seem that life is getting easier, and just in time.” I say with a smile.

“Well I am going to go check on Rose, she had went back to sleep after eating this morning. And our mothers will be up here soon to get Rose ready.” I say standing to leave.

“See you later.” Alpha Jake says to me and my dad just nods his head at me with a smirk on his face.

As I close the door I feel a link open up.

“You have become such a good role model and I am so proud of the man that you are becoming. You will make an excellent father and King when it is your time.” My father tells me.

“Thank you.” I tell him just as he closes the link.

I walk up to my door and the three guards stop talking and look at me.

“What is going on?” I ask them.

“Selene stopped by to talk to Rose, so we ardent allowed to let you in until Selene says you can go in.” Raymond says to me.

I open a link to Rose.

“Are you okay?” I ask her.

“Yes, Selene is here. Just give us a few more minutes and then you may come in.” She tells me as she closes the link.

All the rooms are soundproof so we can not hear anything going on.

“I don’t think I like this.” I say outloud.

“Selene will not harm her. And her visits always give us needed information.” Alex says to me.

We stand there talking for a few more minutes. Then there is a green flash, that comes from under the door and then the door opens.

“Sorry for making you wait out here.” She says to me.

“Not a problem love. Is everything okay?” I ask her.

“Yes, everything is okay. She just wanted to check in and see how I was doing and to see if Lilly is doing any better.” She tells me.

“Well that is good. But why was I kept out here?” I ask her as we all walk into the suite.

“She gave me some information on Sol, but I want to talk about that later on after the meeting with the members of the Kingdom.” She says to me.

“As long as everything is okay. That is fine with me.” I tell her, guiding her over to the couch.

“How are you today?” Raymond asks Rose.

“I feel huge. Nothing fits and I have no idea what I am going to wear today and our mothers will be here soon to help me get ready.” She tells him while rubbing her belly.

“Well I have a gift for you.” He says going and grabbing a bag that was in the hallway. He hands it to Rose.

She smiles and opens it.

Inside is a beautiful, pastel green dress. It is long and flowy. It will be form fitted around her bodice and then flow down to the ground around her belly.

She smiles at him and gets up to give him a hug. As she hugs him, Rayond gets a funny look on his face and looks at her belly.

“May I feel the baby?” Raymond asks.

“Of course you can,” Rose says.

He places his hand on her belly. Raymond smiles as he feels the baby move. He stands up and walks over to me.

He gets close and whispers in my ear.

“You two are hiding a huge secret from everyone.” He tells me with a smile.

I look at him with wide eyes.

“I can hear both heartbeats of the babies as she is closer to her due date.” He tells me.

“Yes we are surprising our mothers today at the meeting.” I tell him.

He smiles at me and walks back over to the couch.

The five of us sit and talk for a little while. Then we hear footsteps coming closer to the door.

I stand and open it and smile at our mothers.

“Come on in.” I tell them.

Soon enough, they have rushed in and kicked all the guys out.

I smile as I head down to finish setting things up while I wait.
