The Fall Of Lucian
Chapter 15

-I always thought you were a brave wolf, but now I realise you’re just a coward who hides in the snow”.

-Who hides, alpha wolf.

Lucian was talking to him, but not in his mind, and that told him that he was very close to him.

-You were just looking for a chance when Eren and I split up to attack one first,” he said.

-“You’re very clever, I like your cunning,” the wolf looked for where Lucian’s voice was coming from most strongly.

-Why don’t you come out, and I’ll show you what I can do to you?

-Of course we’ll prove it, alpha! But all in good time.

Ethan had figured out where the voice was coming from, he already had him located and there would be no escape.

Without a second thought, Ethan makes a move to attack the place where Lucian was, when suddenly, a loud growl and a huge albino wolf pounces on Lucian. This action prevented Ethan from attacking him.

Eren stood behind Lucian, keeping silent and trying to hide his presence, waiting for the right moment to strike. When he found it, he didn’t hesitate twice to do so.

The king grabbed Lucian by the shoulder with his sharp teeth and the two began to roll down the mountain.

Ethan followed, growling loudly.

By the time a huge boulder stops them, Lucian manages to break away from Eren, the albino wolf breaks away slightly and at that moment, Ethan appears.

Both wolves glared fiercely at him, baring their sharp, pointed teeth.

-I’ve underestimated you,” says Lucian, feeling a lot of b***d begin to ooze from his arm. You’ve shattered my shoulder, alpha king.

-And that won’t be all I intend to smash!

-Avenging your father’s death, eh? -Lucian chuckles mischievously in both their minds. You should be over it by now, you bastard,” he adds.

He stops laughing, in return he flashes a look of hatred, and in that split second his body changes completely. Lucian had turned into a huge white wolf, at that moment the colour of his eyes were red and they were injected with a lot of power, but also with anger.

Lucian began to growl at the alpha wolves, his back began to grow thicker and thicker, looking much more intimidating than his adversaries. But none of them flinched at his extraordinary size.

As the years passed, and as a result of eating up so much of his enemies’ power, Lucian grew ever larger and more powerful. So much so that the wound Eren had inflicted on his shoulder had healed completely.

-An insignificant wound like that won’t kill me,” he showed them his huge teeth, which were much larger than those of the alphas.

-You may be bigger and more powerful, but there are two of us,” he added, Ethan growling at him.

Both wolves were shaking their snouts, drool spurting from their jaws; the adrenaline was pumping, it was time for the moment they had been waiting for.

-All right, wolves, what have you got for me, you’ve been looking for me for moons, let’s see what you’re made of”.

The first to pounce was Ethan, he ran towards Lucian violently showing his powerful teeth, further behind; Eren following in his wake doing the same.

Lucian was not far behind, he also assaulted the wolves in the same ferocious way they were going to attack him.

First, Ethan was the one who took the first bite. This one went straight to the neck, the wolf got hooked on the albino wolf, and further behind Eren followed… Lucian grunted from the pain of being bitten by two alpha wolves, he recognized it, those two were strong.

But he was stronger.

The alphas knocked him to the ground, and that gave him the advantage of being able to shake them off with his hind legs. Eren and Ethan circled in the snow, however, they returned to attack the wolf.

But the wolf was already waiting for them, Lucian jumped when the first to attack was Eren, dodged it and with the same bounce, grabbed Ethan by the neck. He shook his body and then threw him away.

Eren turned immediately as Lucian dodged, and charged him with force. But Lucian was more agile, and again evaded his attack, and this time he grabbed Eren by the hind leg and bit him until he bled.

He throws him away and the king’s body is hurled into a pine tree. Lucian shakes his muzzle and walks with determination towards the king, who had wounded him for the first time. His bite was painful, too much, Lucian thought.

After taking a few steps towards him, he started to move faster when he saw him trying to stand up.

-Where do you think you’re going, you bastard? -Ethan’s voice took Lucian by surprise. “You and I aren’t finished, you bastard.”

The black wolf latched onto the albino wolf’s muzzle, and with it spun him around, knocking him upside down.

Ethan bit down hard on the wolf, while the wolf was hurting him with his paws trying to get him off of him. The blue moon alpha squeezed harder, and in his mind the only thing that was going on was his wife’s life, for her he would finish this wolf once and for all.

-You won’t get what you want, Ethan. She’ll never come through!

Those words baffled the alpha, what had he said? In the wake of his carelessness, Lucian hurts one of Ethan’s eyes, causing the wolf to squeal.

Ethan broke free of the black wolf’s teeth, but not of Eren’s, who leapt at him and grabbed him by the throat. He squeezed hard, until b***d gushed from it.

But that wasn’t all the power of the albino wolf, he managed to give Eren a scratch, causing serious damage to his ear, practically tearing half of it off. The alpha king releases him, and the albino wolf manages to run up the mountain, getting lost in the bushes.

-I’ll see you around, alphas,” they heard in their thoughts.

-Ethan, are you all right? -Eren ran over to where his friend was trying to get to his feet.

-Yeah, I’m fine.” He blinked, but the discomfort in his eye was irritating.

“Your eye, did you lose it?”

“No, he could still see. It’s just hurt.”

Eren relaxes a little, an eye was the only part a wolf couldn’t regenerate, if you lost it, it would be permanent.

-He got away,” Eren mutters, sniffing the air.

-We’ll find him again.

-We must find some shelter, and try to heal the wounds. This fucker hurt my paw.”

-“Eren, you’ve lost half your ear.”

“I thought so, my queen will not be pleased with this.

The wolves burst out laughing, Ethan ends up getting to his feet. It was the first battle they’d had against Lucian for many years, and from what they could tell, they were pretty evenly matched, the three of them.

-Between the two of us we can take him down, I’ve noticed we’re pretty evenly matched in powers.”

-If we fight together, we can take him down.

“Yeah, we can’t split up again. Unless we ambush him.”

“He’s no fool, he won’t fall for that.”

Eren is silent.

-His wounds heal faster than a normal wolf’s, he’s got a lot of power stored up. I don’t know why, but I have a feeling he hasn’t drawn his full power” -the king opines.

-You’re wrong, he’s not more powerful than all of us put together. Believe me, we can assassinate him.

-What did she say? She won’t deliver? What did she mean by that?”

“Keep your thoughts private, don’t open your mind. We’d better return to our human form, it’s safer to talk.”

“You’re right.”

The wolves sought shelter that day, because of their wounds they could no longer make their way up the mountain. It was best that they rest in their human form and try to bake the breaches in their bodies.

-Do you think he knows that witch? -Eren asks, as he stitches a crack in his friend’s back. That’s why he said she won’t comply.

-I’m afraid so, I think the two of them know each other. What I don’t understand about all this, is what that witch might want from him.

-I don’t know, but it must be important. We have to find out this woman’s purpose, since she has Shery in her hands, we can’t trust her,” he replies, picking up the thread, “That’s it! There will be a huge scar.

Ethan didn’t care about that, all he wanted was to catch that wolf.

-How’s the eye? Let me see it,” the alpha checks it, but notices it was fine, “You’ll only have a scar over it, it didn’t hurt it per se. You were lucky, you need to be more cautious, if Lucian blinds you, you won’t be able to fight anymore.

The alpha throws a few logs on the fire. And that’s when Ethan takes a better look at his ear, there was hardly any of it left.

-I’ll have to stitch up that ear, you’re losing a lot of b***d. We can’t leave traces, it would make it easier for that bastard to hunt you down.

In that battle nobody lost, nobody won, but the war was not over yet.

-Aaaahhhhh! -You’re still alive, damned Lucian. You’re tougher than I thought,” the witch whispers, opening her eyes and coming to.

She’d watched the fight from start to finish, Lucian was cunning, he’d had the alphas under surveillance from the moment they set foot on the mountain. But the beating they had given her was quite a spectacle for her, who savoured the victory of seeing her body being assaulted.

-I long for the day when I see your head and heart, they will be mine, Lucian,” she said as she waved her hands in a sensual manner.

The witch gets to her feet and walks over to the b***d pool where Shery’s naked body was lying. Shery kneels before her and touches the crimson liquid with her fingertips. Then she puts the fluid in her mouth and tastes Ethan’s b***d.

-Your husband is fighting bravely, Lucian is not a wolf to be destroyed so easily. But he, and your king, are more powerful than I expected,” he speaks to Shery’s body.

He smiles, then takes a lock of the brunette’s hair. He cuts it off and stands up.

-It’s quite possible that your wolf will end up saving you, he’s hurt that Lucian a lot. So, I intend to compensate him just a little for his work. I think he’ll be happy to see some new changes in you, Shery.

Shery doesn’t move, her whole body lay under the reddish liquid that belonged to her husband. She couldn’t react, but she could hear every word the witch said.

-We’re going to give your dear husband a huge surprise! -And the braver he stays brave, the happier I’ll be.
