The Fall Of Lucian -
Chapter 21
-But the prince will send his men after him, how will you stop him?
-I don’t know what I’m going to do, Ria. I am aware that this human cannot remain in the herd.
-I checked his wounds this morning, he hasn’t bled any more.
-He’s fine.
-There is something I can do to help you with your problem my alpha, I can prepare a bath for you. My mother told me that there are some herbs that can be used to prepare a bath to help you stop being attracted to someone forbidden.
-Can you do it? -She looks at the young woman over the edge of her shoulders.
-Yes, I know where the herbs grow. But you’ll have to take the bath in the river.
-And that doesn’t work with my wolf destiny?
-No my alpha, only for wolves who are attracted to someone who isn’t mate.
Deisy didn’t believe much in such things, but she did know that Ria’s mother was very powerful with potions. Many called her a witch, but she wasn’t so sure that was the case. However, the gift was well inherited by Ria.
Even though she was a very young girl when her mother passed away, the young woman could do many things that even the matriarch herself could not do. Deisy trusted the chestnut, and hoped that the bath would help her get rid of the human.
-Very well, prepare everything for tonight.
-Of course, my alpha.
She would take that bath, and if it really worked, she would send the human the next day to the king’s castle.
[…]He looked for her everywhere, and he couldn’t find her. Bardas was really worried about his moon. Her disappearing out of nowhere only made him think of one thing; Adara was an albino she-wolf, and with the heat about to come and if…
No, he denied strongly.
Lucian couldn’t be involved in that, his father and Ethan were after him, if that bastard came down the mountain they’d know about it. But it was still a possibility.
And if that animal that attacked that human in Deisy’s pack attacked her, or took her… now he was really worried about his beloved wolf.
Bardas was in the middle of the forest, the sun had risen strongly, heating the earth to such a degree that the sand was hot.
-Prince, Bardas, she is nowhere to be found,” JB came to his side with a pack of wolves.
-She’s completely disappeared.
“Where could she be?
-I don’t know, but she knows she can’t be out in the woods alone”.
-The strange thing is that none of this morning’s guard saw her prowl the woods.
Bardas grunts and shakes his snout, if that was true, she didn’t go out that morning. She did it at night. Which made the situation worse.
-“You have to keep looking for her trail. Don’t rest until you get her.”
The prince took one path with his squad, and the beta took another with his own squad. They would be willing to find her even if it took them all night to search if possible.
[…]-Are you sure this is the right thing to do? -Adara asked her aunt as she watched the shackles close around her wrists and ankles, then closed her eyes.
-Your scent has become so intense, look what you did yesterday. I smelled you all the way to the house, I told you to be attentive. And it was the least you did.
-I couldn’t help it, something came over me and I couldn’t control it anymore.
The sound of the shackle chain rattled and Adara opened her eyes.
The young brunette was secluded in a dark and somewhat spooky cave. Full of vermin and leaking everywhere.
-This place is disgusting, Auntie.
-I’m so sorry, but it’s the only place your mother and I found within blue moon territory.
-I can’t believe my mother thought of this idea.
Megan sits on a rock and watches her.
-Your mother, even though she wasn’t a wolf, cared deeply for the young, single female wolves in the pack, she didn’t want any of them to suffer what she endured when she was… well, Shery thought to find a place far enough away from all the male wolves, a place that no one would find.
Adara sees her aunt smile.
If your mother were a she-wolf, she’d be one of the extraordinary ones. She told me that the she-wolves that were about to go into their first heat should be helped. They were she-wolves without mates, so they could pick on anyone. And many wolves are not at all condescending to a first-time bitch. Your mother didn’t want them to get hurt, or pregnant by wolves who wouldn’t take care of them.
-That was very astute of her,” Megan nods.
-It was, even I was surprised by her method. When we tried it with the first wolf, we both stayed to help her. It was quite dangerous for Shery, since she was human and the she-wolf was out of control. Luckily I was here, and I was able to neutralise the young girl.
Megan denies as she remembers that crazy night.
-But it worked! No wolf came close, and the she-wolf spent the night of her rut imprisoned in those same shackles. She was a little injured, but she healed without any problems. From that day on, the young she-wolves turned to your mother for help.
-Is that why there are so many shackles? -The brunette sees the row of chains around her.
-Yes, one appeared, then two, then three on the same day. We had to help them all, so they wouldn’t do anything rash for their one night of l**t,” Megan smiles.
-I hope this works out with me.
At that Megan’s smile fades and she turns serious.
-What’s wrong? -The brunette adds as she sees the seriousness in her aunt.
-Well, it’s just that this is the first time I’ve ever dealt with the zeal of an alpha’s daughter.
-What does that mean?
That your power is much stronger than that of a common she-wolf, your strength is unmatched. I-I, well, I hope those chains will support your strength and temperament.
Adara thought about her aunt’s words, she was right, her strength was no match for other she-wolves.
-What if it doesn’t work?
-I’ll try to neutralise you, I hope it works. And also, it’s the first time I’ve ever treated a she-wolf’s heat with a mate. No she-wolf who has her wolf would go for this.
-My God, Bardas could get me.
-I’m not sure yet, since you’ve been here since last night and he hasn’t found you yet. Perhaps the strong scent of the flowers your mother and I planted is keeping him from finding you.
-That was a good tactic.
Megan flattens her lips, and looks back. She had to leave to tend to her puppies waiting for her at home. She’d had a hard time keeping her husband from going out for the night and arriving too late.
Luckily JB was a quiet wolf and not at all curious when it came to girl things. But if he took any longer, he would find out. The important thing about that place was that even the alpha himself didn’t know about it, and that meant the beta couldn’t know about it either.
-I must go, Adara.
-What time will you be back?
-Before the moon rises.
-All right.
-This place is filthy, man. -I’m so sorry.
-I’m very sorry, but it’s the only place your modre and I can find within the territory of luno ozul. -I can’t believe my modre and I found it.
-I can’t believe my modre thought of this idea.
Megon sat on a rock and watched him.
-Your father, despite not being a wolf, was very concerned about the young, unmarried wolves of the world, he didn’t want any of them to suffer what he endured when he was… well, Shery thought of finding a place far enough away from all the wolves, a place he couldn’t find.
She loved to see her uncle smile.
-If your modre were a wolf, serious of the extroordinary ones. He told me that the wolves or those who were about to come into their first heat should be helped. They were wolves without nicknames, so they could pick on anyone. And many wolves are not at all condescending to a first timer. Your modre didn’t want them to be the wolves, or the wolves that didn’t know the time of day.
-That was very ostute of his bearing,” Megon heard.
-It was, but I was surprised by his method. When we tried it with the first wolf, we both stayed or helped him. It was very dangerous for Shery, because it was humid and the wolf was out of control. Luckily I was here, and I was able to neutralise the youngster.
Megon denied the memory of that crazy night.
-But it turned out! No wolf escaped, and the wolf rested the night of his rut imprisoned in those same shackles. He was a little hurt, but he sounded no problem. From that day on, the young wolves resorted to your way of helping them.
-That’s why today, silly shackles? -The Costanoan sees the edge of the shackles around him.
-Yes, he gave one, then two, and then three on the same day. We should have helped them or all of them, so they weren’t or committed a reckless one for their one night of l**t,” Megon smiles.
-I hope this works out with me.
At that Megon’s smile darkens and he becomes serious.
-What pose? -I don’t know,” he says, “but I can’t see the seriousness in his uncle.
-Well, it’s just that it’s the first time I’ve ever seen the zeal of an elf’s son.
-What does that mean?
-That your power is much stronger than that of a common wolf, your strength is unequalled. And I-I, well, I hope that those bones can withstand your strength and temperament.
Adoro kept thinking about his uncle’s polobros, it had a touch, his strength didn’t behave like that of other wolves.
-What if it didn’t work?
-I hope it will work. And also, it’s the first time I’ve tried a wolf with a nickname. None of the wolves I have or their wolves have been bothered by this.
-My God, Bordos could get me.
-I’m not sure yet, since I’ve been here since last night and I haven’t found you yet. Perhaps, the strong pompom that loosens the flowers that your modre and I look like is preventing him from finding you.
-That was a good tactic.
Megon blew the wolves away, and looked away. I must have been afraid to hear him or his jokes that he was waiting for him in the woods. It took him a lot to be able to get his husband out of the way at night and he arrived very late at night.
Fortunately JB was a quiet and curious wolf when he came across the children’s things. But if he took longer, he would have found out. The important thing about that place is that not even he himself was aware of it, and that indicated that he couldn’t be so proud.
-I must go, Adoro.
-What time are you coming back?
-Before I tell him.
-It’s all right.
-Are you sure you’ll be all right? -Shall I get some fresher water?
-No, with what you’ve left me, I’ll be fine, Aunt Megan. -I’m fine. Thank you for helping me.
-I’ll be back soon.
Her aunt stands up, gives her a k**s and leaves.
Adara lets out her breath, she didn’t expect to spend the day of her rut locked in a dreary cave. Her ideal was to be accompanied by her wolf, but that was not to be.
-For God’s sake, this scent of flowers is suffocating me. I can’t be spending all night smelling this.
The young woman complains.
[…]Bardas had almost reached the edge of the blue moon herd, a few miles ahead was the next herd’s grounds. But as far as he was, Adara’s scent did not reach him.
He sniffed deeply into the forest and all he could make out was a strong scent of flowers. But that was all, the scent of her moon was nowhere to be found.
-Adara, where are you, my moon?
He had no choice but to turn back, and he would go looking for her somewhere else.
He turns around and runs in the opposite direction to the strong scent of flowers that was already beginning to make him dizzy.
[…]By nightfall Bardas was losing his mind over the disappearance of his moon. Everyone was shocked by the disappearance of the alpha’s daughter. But most of all, Bardas, who couldn’t stop thinking about her.
While JB was taking care of the blue moon, Bardas was still looking for her. The crescent moon was about to rise, and that meant Adara could…
No.
He didn’t want to think about anything negative, he’d keep searching until he’d scoured every last corner of the pack. And if he had to cross borders, he would.
He was in the farthest corner of the blue moon, when the crescent moon appeared shining all splendorous. The wolf looks up at the sky and sees how the bluish reflections light up the road a little.
Suddenly, a strong breeze hits the prince’s furry body, bringing with it a pleasant scent.
-“Adara…?”
[…]She pulls hard on the chains, snarling, drooling, a ferocious wolf. Her teeth gnashed with the impotence of not being able to let go.
-Calm down, Adara. Listen to me, you must calm down.
Megan was trying to calm her niece, the woman remained in her human form. But the way she was going, the she-wolf would have to transform. The shackles were beginning to give way, the she-wolf had so much strength that she was beginning to pull the chains from the stones.
-If you keep this up, you’ll break free.
But Adara didn’t answer her, she was determined to escape to find her wolf. If she really didn’t want to be with him like that, he would have to help her stop her. But…
-Girl, don’t you think it would be better if I released you and you were free to do with your wolf as you wish?
Megan was in a dilemma, the only way for Adara to control her wild side was for her to spend her first heat at her wolf’s side. Only he had the ability to calm her.
The chains gave way and gave way, the wall was beginning to have cracks that took the way to the source of the chain. Megan looked at what she was about to weigh and made the decision her heart told her to make.
-I’m going to let you go, Adara. You need to be with him, and I know he needs you too. Since he’s desperately looking for you. Give him a chance to prove to you that he’s not what you think he is.
Her aunt steps aside, just as the she-wolf breaks the shackles along with the four chains holding her.
