The Fall Of Lucian
Chapter 30

Eren and Ethan began to climb the few metres to the top, at last they would discover why Lucian was so determined not to let them reach the summit and why he was so desperate to reach it.

But their ascent was interrupted when a pack of wild wolves appeared out of nowhere. The alphas stopped and began to growl at the wolves, who did not attack immediately, but seemed to be waiting for an order.

Suddenly, a wolf appears, just as big as the other two that were left behind. It looked exclusively at Ethan and growled at him, baring its ferocious teeth. The alpha did the same and moved into attack position.

-I think that’s the last card Lucian was hiding! -Ethan muttered.

-Let’s go get them all, Ethan.

The wolves move into attack position just at the same time as the biggest wolf barks, which meant he was giving an order. The alphas had never seen anything like it, a wild wolf giving orders to other wolves.

They assumed that this had to be one of the first wolves created by Lucian, which is why the others obeyed them.

They watched as the wild wolves ran towards them at the same time, but the alphas were ready for the attack… the first to be attacked was Ethan by two wolves, one latched onto his neck and the other tried to grab him by the paw, but he was quicker and dodged it.

In turn, he grabbed the wolf by the muzzle and threw it away, then rolled in the snow on purpose to get rid of the one clinging to his neck. With his hind legs he tore at its fur and pulled it off him, with the same movement he grabbed it by the side and ended up taking its life.

Eren was not so lucky, three wolves were on top of him biting and hurting him. But this alpha king knew how to defend himself, he ran towards a tree with the wolves attached to his body and with the same speed crashed his body against it and was rewarded with the removal of two of them.

They quickly got to their feet and went after him once more, Eren took off the one that was hooked to his paw with a bite to the head. The other two came to meet him and went straight for his neck.

They wanted to finish him off.

But he would not let them. He dodged both wolves and stayed behind them both, grabbed one by the spine and with the same bite broke his bones, the other grabbed him by the side and bit seriously into one of his ribs.

However, Eren didn’t stop, he turned his body and grabbed the wolf by the muzzle biting it so hard that it broke its jaw. The alpha king was free of those three, then looked over to where Ethan was and in turn where the rest of the wolves were.

With his rib compromised, Eren ran towards them to get the shitty battle over with.

Ethan did the same, but at this point, the one that attacked Ethan was that big wolf, the others went after Eren.

The blue moon alpha was attacked by the wolf he had never seen before in his life, but he didn’t care who it was, he was going to finish him off. The only thing he cared about was that Eren had to deal with four wild wolves.

-Eren, are you alright? -he asked as he charged at his attacker.

-Don’t worry about me, I’m not a weak wolf. I am a king for a reason.

The king snapped the neck of the first wolf to reach him, the second wolf grabbed him from behind and climbed onto his back. The next one grabbed him by one paw and threw him away, the next one grabbed his neck and the third one wanted to do the same.

But the king was more cunning and when that one wanted to bite him, what he did was to bite the wolf on top of him, who immediately let him go. Eren grabbed the wolf’s neck and broke it. The next one died the same death, he only had one left, who growled at him but wouldn’t come near him.

If those were the last remaining wild wolves he didn’t plan on leaving it alive to try to breed later.

The wolf apparently sensed his intentions and ran off. But Eren went after him, he would end his life.

Ethan fought this wolf relentlessly, he was stronger than the others he fought; in bite, boldness and speed. Every time he managed to sink his teeth into her body it was a horrible pain, almost unbearable, but he endured it for his wife.

The alpha dodged a few of the wolf’s attacks, except for one rather important one. It grabbed him by the thigh of his paw and bit down so hard that Ethan felt the bone snap. That wolf was locked onto him.

By the time he let go, he was limping, and that wolf was tasting his b***d.

He wasn’t going to die for some miserable wild wolf… he was an alpha, leader of a pack, the b***d of a long generation of powerful wolves coursing through his veins. The thought made Ethan draw strength from where he had none.

His body swells and his coat thickens, seeming much larger than his adversary. He growled at him with great intensity, his muzzle drooled in droves and his gaze became thin, his blue eyes became more intense, almost dangerous; which caused his enemy to start backing away.

Ethan began to walk towards him showing all his power, he was shaking his snout as a sign that he was ready to attack at any moment. He sensed the fear in his enemy, even though he was a wild wolf and did not recognise anything, he understood that he was no match for him.

The alpha leapt towards him in a matter of no time, reaching directly for the wolf’s neck, and with the same attack he broke it… without moving or breathing, Ethan knew he was done with him.

He looked down at the ground and saw that the snow was painted red, his paw was bleeding badly, but he didn’t care. He looked up and looked for Eren, who appeared in the bushes with the head of the fleeing wolf.

-“Are you all right, Ethan?”

“I think so.”

The blue moon alpha watched his friend descend to where he was and noticed that he was struggling to get down.

“Are you hurt?”

“I think I have a bruised rib, that damn wolf bit me pretty hard.”

“We must rest a bit.”

“No, we have to move on. I’ve discovered something that will keep you going”

The two of them ascended the little path they had left to the top of the mountain, and that’s when Ethan is surprised at what he observes.

-It’s a path!

“Where do you think it will lead us?”

Ethan looks at the junction of the mountains, it was curious, but he knew the path.

-It’ll lead us straight to the witch,” the blue moon alpha says.

-Then there is no time to lose, let’s follow the path.

Eren was the first to move forward and he followed. Both wolves chased the snow-covered path they suspected Lucian had taken.

Adara sat bolt upright in bed as she sensed something unsettling in her heart. Something was not right, not with her mother, not with her father, not with the king… The young brunette makes an attempt to stand up, but becomes dizzy as she does so.

The mark on the back of her neck was too strong, being bitten by royalty was incredibly painful. Still, she needed to get up to find her wolf and tell him what she was sensing.

As she leaves her house, she raises the scent of her pheromones a little so that her wolf could look for her. And within minutes, she watches as Bardas approaches the house in his wolf form.

-Adara, what are you doing outside? You need to rest,” he licks her face gently.

-Something is happening, Bardas. Or it’s about to, with our parents,” the wolf sharpens his gaze.

-What are you talking about, my moon?

“I was asleep and I’ve been jolted awake by a bad feeling about our parents. I don’t think they’re well.

It wasn’t long before nightfall, and at that hour, Bardas couldn’t do much.

-You must calm yourself, Adara. I’ll see what I can do to find out about them. But you know that’s impossible, my father and yours have forbidden me to go near those lands.”

-I know… but I am distressed. My she-wolf is very anxious.

At that moment, she looks up and notices a certain movement in the beak of the black mount. The chestnut widens her gaze because her suspicions were right.

-Bardas, something is happening on the witch’s mountain.

The wolf looks back, and notices that a purple swirl is centred around the mountain. That could be many things, that Ethan had fulfilled his promise or… the wolf takes a few steps forward to get a better look at the event.

-Something happened, something is happening.

-We can’t do anything but wait, Adara.

-But my parents, yours?

-If none of them come back, we know what we have to do.

-And how will we know if Lucian is still alive?

The chestnut stared at the mountain, many lightning bolts were falling on it and that purple aura was dark.

-I have to go to the albino wolf pack, warn their alpha what’s going on,” she said.

-That human she’s harbouring, you have to go investigate if he’s regained his memory.

-I have to send him to the castle and take him into custody until we know where he came from. Besides, the group of men I sent have not yet returned”.

-I’ll go with you.

The wolf turns and snarls at his moon.

-No, you will stay here. I will not expose you in the forest.

-If you leave me and they attack the pack I will still be exposed, I will go with you.

Adara was very stubborn, but what choice did she have. She was right, the best thing to do was to take her with him, that way he would protect her himself.

-Very well, I hope you’re ready to travel in wolf form and keep up with me.

-Who do you think you’re talking to.

Deisy spent the whole day in wolf form prowling around the pack, being in this form allowed her to think more clearly. Luckily for her, the human hadn’t left the house all day, which allowed her to concentrate on what mattered.

On the other hand, she tried to avoid Ria, every time she saw her she tried to talk to her, but Deisy ignored her presence. She didn’t want to have to confess to her what was going on inside her, what she had discovered the night before about the human.

Everything was so complicated for her, that at that moment she did not want to be an alpha, but a normal she-wolf.

Suddenly, the she-wolf senses the presence of someone and immediately turns her body to see the human coming out of the house. They both stare at each other and neither makes an expression that would give them away.

-My alpha, is this human allowed to roam free in the pack? -his beta asks him mentally.

-Yes, for the moment, it will be a test to see how he behaves,” she replies, looking away, but she knew he was still looking at her.

-She doesn’t seem to mind the presence of huge wolves, that’s strange coming from a human.

-Yes, it is very strange.

-Although it’s a very similar story to that of Queen Valentina. King Eren found her with no memory, and to this day she never recovered anything, and she was never affected by the presence of a wolf.

Just at that moment in the conversation, Deisy’s light bulb went off and she recapitulated on something she had missed. The she-wolf looks over to where the human was standing and again emphasises the colour of his eyes.

That was it!

She already knew where she had seen that same eye colour, they were the eyes of Prince Bardas and the rest of the king’s sons. Even if he didn’t know them all, he knew some of them, and they all had the same greyish eye colour, or so he thought.
