It’s not possible!

The queen never remembered anything about her family, and if this human was a relative of hers. And if it was someone who went into the forest to look for her. But that theory didn’t make sense either, Queen Valentina would be an old woman by now, but the wolf life gave her youth.

It is impossible that someone from her family would want to find her, but the resemblance of her eyes to the king’s children was incredible. And the hypothesis that she might be Eren’s family was unlikely; everyone knew where old Bardas came from first.

But that uneasiness she felt didn’t leave her, something told her that this human had something to do with the queen’s family. And if that was so, he could not be a person she distrusted. She needed to make him remember.

-Alpha, are you all right? -She snapped back to reality.

-Yes, I’m fine. I don’t want anyone to bother that human, he can walk free if he wants to.

-Of course my lady, as you command.

She looks up again noticing that he was still looking at her, Deisy bares her teeth at the human and turns around to run into the forest.

He sees the albino she-wolf lose herself in the bushes and smiles. Then he squeezes her side with his hand and is relieved that she is no longer bleeding and that she has finally regained her strength. And he also realised something important, it seemed that he was free to go out.

What he did wonder was how far he could wander around that place.

He looked up at the sky and noticed that it was already getting dark, and that she-wolf had gone into the forest. This made him think about whether he should follow her, or maybe she would visit him again that night… Suddenly, he notices the presence of the brunette who always accompanies Deisy.

-Dinner,” he offers her a plate of food. From tomorrow you can fetch it yourself, I see you can walk, so just get to the end where the main dining room is. They’ll serve you a plate there.

-You don’t like me, do you?

-You shouldn’t be here, or anywhere near my alpha.

The brunette lowers her gaze.

Ria turns and walks away. He stares at the brunette, even if she said whatever she said, the pretentious albino was the one who had the last word. However, he was likely to be sent far away.

He sets the plate of food aside, and walks out of the house towards the forest. Just the way she left.

He looked carefully everywhere for her, but the deeper he went into the forest, the darker everything became… until he could see nothing at all.

He stops in the middle of a circle of pine trees, looks up and notices that it was already dark. Then all around him, Deisy was nowhere to be seen. He turns around to go back to the cabin, when he hears the sound of someone standing nearby.

He doesn’t move, and pays attention to his senses. Then he turns and watches as that albino she-wolf emerges from the darkness.

-I thought you weren’t around anymore,” she begins to circle him and look at him, “I thought I could catch you before it got dark,” and that’s when he hears her growl from behind him. I’ll never understand you that way.

He hears the she-wolf’s footsteps stop beside him, he glances sideways at her and at that moment they both look at each other.

What are you afraid of, aren’t you brave in your human form? Are you hiding behind that she-wolf? -Deisy sharpens her gaze. It’s just you and me.

She moves forward without looking back, intending to return to the forest and leave him there. But suddenly, the human touches her and clings to her fur, preventing her from leaving. Deisy’s wild instinct came to the fore immediately.

The she-wolf attacked the human, but without hurting him. She simply growled at him and tried to bite his hand, but did not. Then she turned her body to face him.

The human’s reflexes were to pull his hand away immediately before he ripped it off, apparently she was very angry.

-What did I do to make you attack me? -He demands, but she only growls at him, “You’re not so aggressive when you’re in your human form,” she mocks him.

Then she attacks him again, and he takes two steps back. If he wasn’t careful, that she-wolf would rip his head off.

-Deisy…

She turns and walks back to the bushes where she came from.

-I like you, pretentious albino, even if you want to murder me right now, I confess that I like you as a wolf as much as I like you as a human.

The albino pauses, maintaining her stance.

-I will not give up on you like that person you love did, and I will stand up to anyone if it will allow me to be by your side. I want you to be only for me.

She listened to him, and without turning around Deisy jumped into the branches and lost herself in the darkness.

He understood him, he was sure she could understand him perfectly. The only bad thing was that she didn’t want to return to her human state so that they could talk.

-It will come to me.

Deisy ran as fast as she could through the forest, she felt all frantic with this human’s confession. And the reason was that she liked him a lot too, and she couldn’t stop what she felt for him.

But she also felt that it was like a forbidden union, he was not of her kind, he was a stranger and they knew nothing about his past.

Because the moon goddess had to have sent him a human as the person he would lose his head over. That made no sense at all.

Did she have to listen to her feelings?

He wonders when he reaches the edge of the river. He stops and looks at his reflection in the water, it was there when every spell he wanted to use against that human stopped working just by touching his skin.

Just remembering when he made love to her tormented her, since she wanted to look for him to repeat what they had been doing the night before.

Strange as it seemed to Deisy, when her heat was approaching, she always thought about Ethan. She’d even freak out about going to see him; but right now, he was the last one on her mind. This human was getting under her skin.

He looked up and noticed that the moon was shining brightly. The next day, his rut was likely to bloom, or perhaps even that night… he thinks as he sharpens his gaze and notices the event emerging on the black-peaked mountain.

-What the hell is that?

She didn’t like that dark swirl around it, she had seen the same thing a few days ago, but now that she noticed it again it made her uneasy. Deisy runs back to the herd to look for Ria, maybe she had an explanation for it.

When she gets home, she returns to her human form and goes inside the house. He finds the brunette in the kitchen and when he sees her he is astonished.

-My lady, I’ve been looking all over for you, where have you been?

-I need you to see something,” she says, grabbing a silk dressing gown. Come with me now.

They both leave the house, and from the entrance of their own residence they could see the lights on top of the mountain.

-Ria, what is going on? -The young woman looks at the lights and blinks several times.

-My mother… my mother told me something about it when I was very small. She told me very little about those lights on that mountain.

-What did she tell you?

-She told me that there lived a powerful witch that no one knew about,” he answers, looking at the mountain. A treacherous witch.

-Witch? What witch?

Deisy was curious to know more, Ria never told her about it.

-I don’t know, but what I do know is that the magic you see there is the bad kind, my lady. I always thought my mother told me that to scare me so I wouldn’t go to the forest alone, she always told me that when I saw lights on that mountain I should run home and not go out.

The chestnut-haired girl was as if enraptured looking at those lights.

-I always thought it was a lie, but she does exist.

-Did your mother see her? -The brunette lowered her gaze and blinked. Ria, did your mother see that witch?

-She told me she did,” she swallows and looks at her. My mother saw her. But I never believed her.

-Where did she see her? -You have to tell me, did your mother go up that mountain?

-No, she never went up there. It was in other times, she told me that… I don’t really know what she told me. I can barely remember her words.

-Try.

The brunette is silent and looks at the lights again, when she saw that event the other time she remembered so many things; and now that she was seeing them again, her whole body shuddered. There was something inside her that she couldn’t remember, it was as if her memories had been blocked.

But he had a feeling he knew more than he should.

-Ethan has gone to that mountain, hasn’t he? -The chestnut looks at the albino.

-Yes, he’s been to that mountain with his wife.

Deisy looks at the peak and worries, what could Ethan want with that witch? On top of taking his wife.

-He wants the witch to cure her, that’s why he went. To make a deal with her to cure his wife’s illness,” the chestnut answers her doubts.

That was it then! That’s why he made such a risky journey with a sick human, he was looking for a way to save his moon’s life. But at what cost? That alpha’s life could be at risk just to save a human.

-He shouldn’t trust that witch, no one should.

-I agree with you.

But who was she to say anything about Ethan and his human, when she kept a human in her pack for whom she harboured deep feelings and had even slept with.

Now she understood Ethan and his reasons for not leaving Shery. When you’re truly in love with someone, it’s very hard to get rid of that person.

-My lady, his zeal. Your scent has become stronger, do you need me to help you with that?

It was time to decide what to do, whether to make love during her rut with the man she had fallen in love with, or to let it pass like the others and never know what it feels like. It was wise to know that making love in heat was the best experience in the world.

And she longed for all those experiences….
