The Fall Of Lucian -
Chapter 34
A ray of sunlight shone brightly into one of her eyes, causing her to avert her gaze. Deisy turned around to hide from him, when she realised that she was alone in bed. She opens her eyes and realizes that she was.
She sat up in bed a little startled, looking for him, but he was not in that room. At what point had he left her side?
All night they were together, well, until a certain time when she didn’t know any more and fell asleep.
Deisy stands up, and looks for something to cover her body, and since her clothes were in tatters she notices that he had left his shirt behind.
What did that mean?
-He’s walking around the herd half naked? -she frowns at the possibility.
She puts on the human’s shirt, smelling him, and eventually leaves the room. She searches the house for him, but his scent is gone. The albino goes outside, and sees no movement from anyone; she wondered, why was it that no one was doing their job.
It wasn’t possible that he had slept so long….
She made her way to her house, finding it strange that she couldn’t even see her beta, but there was no one there. It looked like a lonely herd… and that’s when he stops in the middle of everything and thinks; he looks around, there was no one, his heart began to beat strongly.
He runs home to look for Ria, but when he enters the residence the first thing he sees is his beta lying dead on the floor in a pool of b***d.
-Oh my God!
Deisy runs to the stairs without noticing her beta’s wounds, she rushes upstairs to look for Ria, but when she gets to her room she was nowhere to be seen. Nor was her essence. His mind was going blank, his beta dead, the pack desolate, Ria missing and the human too.
Someone had attacked the pack while she slept….
She ran down the stairs past her beta’s body, stepped outside and began to sniff. Nothing, because she couldn’t smell anything. She became desperate and ran into the forest in search of her people or someone to explain what was happening.
It was like a nightmare.
Deisy went into the forest in her human form, when she noticed that the night watchmen were at their posts, but dead. She denies, it couldn’t be, at what point did it all happen?
Where were the rest of the others?
She continued moving forward, noticing that a reddish layer covered the ground… it was b***d, then she realised that the whole ground was covered with b***d. When he came to realise that his feet were covered by this crimson colour.
He began to walk slowly as he spotted a small group of people lying on the ground. His heart was beating slowly and each time he got closer, it got faster. As she reached them, she noticed that it was her pack, not all of them, but a large portion of her people.
Deisy’s eyes filled with tears as she saw her people lifeless once again, it looked like they had been running through the forest as if they were running away from the herd, but among all of them there was no Ria, nor him…
He looks up and swallows, and heads to where the wolves usually train. It is an open space devoid of trees. He clumsily hurries his steps to that part of the forest, painfully stepping over the corpses of his people.
When she catches a glimpse of the clearing, she sharpens her gaze and notices someone lying in the middle of the clearing. Deisy runs over with her heart in her hand. When she reaches the person’s side, she collapses to the ground and begins to cry non-stop.
She takes the body in her arms and hugs it tightly.
-Ria, Ria… nooo, why? Wake up, please wake up,” she asks as she hugs the body of her best friend with tears in her eyes. Wake up girl, please, I beg you.
The albino sunk her face into the hollow between the young girl’s neck and chest and continued crying non-stop.
-What happened? My God, what happened?
How come she didn’t sense any of it, all that b***d, all that slaughter, she didn’t smell it, she didn’t sense anything. And now she had her best friend, almost like her little sister, dead in her arms; and she had no idea who the culprit could be.
-Riaaaaaaaaaa…” she screams heartbreakingly.
-I don’t think she’ll wake up.
She falls silent at the sound of that voice, widens her gaze and carefully lays her friend on the floor. She arranges her clothes and her hair and then looks over her shoulder.
-Do you think she’ll wake up? -She swallows and looks at the person behind her, his whole body covered in b***d.
-Did you do it? -she asks in a whisper.
-I guess you could say I was forced.
-Why? They were peaceful and innocent people.
-She didn’t… -She points at her friend, which infuriated her.
-You’re a bastard.
Deisy stands up, filled with hatred, wipes her tears with the back of her hand and looks with contempt at the man before her.
-Who are you? Why have you come to my land? Suddenly she sees him smile half-smiling as his grey eyes glowed brighter than usual that horrible morning.
-I always imagined you would find me out, but the truth is that this facade of mine has served me quite well,” he replies, his voice no longer the same as before, it was as if he were someone else.
-Who are you?
-I am Alexander, Daren’s son therefore; I am Lucian’s grandson.
It couldn’t be true, that man couldn’t be Lucian’s grandson. He was an ordinary human, a son of Lucian would never have a human descendant. It was impossible.
-That can’t be true, you’re a human, and Lucian is a wolf.
-Who said I’m a filthy human?
Alexander began to circle Deisy’s body, looking her up and down and smiling.
-I’m not a human, you pretentious albino,” those last words made her shudder, because they reminded her of what she’d been through with that man.
-What are you? -She looks over her shoulder at him.
-I’m a wolf, but disguised as a lamb,” she whispers over her shoulder.
-Why have you come to my domain?
-The answer is easy enough, Deisy. And I think you already know it,” he continues to circle her, feeling like prey.
The albino didn’t want to acknowledge him, but when he confessed who he was, she sensed his reasons for entering her pack the way he did.
-I knew I couldn’t break through your domain in my wolf form, there are too many wolves against me. So I had no choice but to use my tricks to get in without too much trouble. I faked the memory loss so you would leave me alone until I got what I was looking for.
An albino she-wolf.
-Nooo my dear alpha,” he murmurs in her ear as he hugs her back. Not a common she-wolf, a true she-wolf. My intention from the beginning was you, I came here because of you. I knew from the moment I was born that you had to be mine.
Deisy felt disgust in that instant; for everything she felt, for everything she felt for him.
-I’m not having your damn demon child.
-My heat was when we did it at the river, I couldn’t let that night go, I had to make you mine that night anyway,” she squeezes her belly. You’re pregnant with my child.
She couldn’t have that demon spawn, she wasn’t going to collaborate with the generation of those guys. Even if she had to die trying, that child would devour her soul.
-I will not have this child.
-Yes, you will, because I intend to take you with me,” she widens her gaze.
-Why did you kill Ria?
He is silent.
-Because she found me out, from the first time I saw her I imagined she would find me out, but she didn’t. Then I realised her memories were there. Then I realised that her memories were erased and I didn’t know much about her past. The poor fool.
-What are you talking about?
-Ria is the daughter of a powerful woman who existed long ago, and that woman is the sister of the witch of Black Peak Mountain. Therefore, your dear friend is the niece of the most powerful witch in existence. Which makes her a foul hybrid, half witch, half wolf.
-You say they were two sister witches? -Yes.
-Yes. Ria regained her memory when the lights appeared on the mountain. This morning I left the house and that’s when she confronted me and the stupid beta. I was taken out of my mind and I had to bring out my true self, everyone ran away in terror while I killed anyone who got in my way.
-Oh my God,” she looks down.
-Ria fled into the forest, thinking she could save herself from me. But I followed her, and made her pay for her audacity in telling on me. If I hadn’t, none of this would have happened, my plans were to take you with me so you could have my son without interruption.
-You’re crazy… I’ll never have this child.
-If you’re worried about him eating your heart out, that won’t happen, my grandfather has changed the rules of the game and that sacrifice is no longer necessary. You should be grateful to me, I tried not to obey Lucian’s orders not to kill your people, my idea was to kidnap you and not let anyone know.
She looks straight ahead, she wasn’t understanding anything of what this guy was saying.
-You must be very confused, it’s understandable because of that old story you know. But my grandfather won’t eat my damn heart anymore, and neither will my son’s, and you won’t have to die either.
-What are you talking about? If that’s what he usually does.
-I intend to take you with me and keep you, I think we have a good time in bed, don’t you?
The mention of it turned Deisy’s stomach. The wretch was playing with her, as if she were a piece of meat.
-I’m not a trophy, and you’d better get used to the idea that I won’t have this puppy. You killed all my people, you could have just taken me without having to do all this bloody slaughter.
-It doesn’t matter now, many have been saved. They will serve for future generations,” he turns her around and faces her, “my grandfather and I will create a dynasty with our bloodline, and we will start with you. My son will get another she-wolf and have another son, we don’t have to be alone anymore. We will create the best race of werewolves, and among them all will be you, by my side.
-I never thought you harboured feelings for anyone else.
-I don’t have those kind of feelings if that’s what you think, I just… I like you to take you to bed, besides, I’ve already marked you Deisy, you belong to me. If I’m going to live many years, I don’t want to do it by self-imposing f*****g chastity.
-What?
She brings her hand to the back of her neck and feels that bite to the flesh, she is surprised, since she felt no pain, and it was as if nothing had happened. That was not the experience she had been told about when she was branded.
-What have you done to me? -How could this have happened without me feeling pain?
-Oh, that! -Alexander approaches her menacingly. When we were having a good time last night, I released a kind of anaesthetic from my body. That’s why this morning you didn’t hear, smell or notice anything when I sunk my fangs into the back of your neck. Soon it will wear off and you will feel a lot of pain.
-No, no, no, no… Why did you mark me? You bastard!
She says furiously and then turns into a huge wolf.
-You’ll pay dearly, Alexander.
-You don’t think I was going to set you free for someone else to brand you. Or did you expect Ethan to do it? By now that bastard should be dead and my grandfather taking his victory.
-I would have preferred a thousand times to stay with a human than to be marked by a creep like you.
She attacks Alexander but he quickly dodges her.
-If you prefer, I can keep my human side so you won’t feel uncomfortable, even if I hate it. It’s a gift I was born with, I can hide my wolf essence and just be an ordinary human.
That explained why she couldn’t sense any wolf in him, she had been tricked in the worst way. She gave herself to the enemy and now she was expecting his child.
