The Fall Of Lucian -
Chapter 7
Eren ran through the forest doing his usual route in search of Lucian, he was usually always accompanied by his son; but that night was not the case. He and the guards would have to figure out if they found that bastard’s hideout.
But that night it seemed impossible for that to happen, since Lucía seemed like the earth had swallowed him.
When out of nowhere, a strange breeze envelopes the king’s furry body. Eren stops immediately and starts sniffing. He didn’t like what was happening to Ethan at all, something wasn’t right with that wolf.
The alpha wolf positions itself in the direction of the mountain where that wolf had to be, looks at the top and realizes that a new event was happening there. It had been many moons since anything had happened in that place.
The wolf growls…
Ethan was not well, he was worried about the life of his friend. If I didn’t hear from him in three days, I would have to go after him.
The king continues looking at that place, green lights prowled the summit, and it was covered by a thick fog that made it impossible to see anything.
— “My lord, something strange is happening in the mountain” —His beta warns him.
—“I don’t want anyone to get close to that mountain, keep everyone away from it”
— “Of course, sir! But do you know what is happening? Nothing like this has happened there for so many moons. Those lights mean that someone has crossed the mountain”
—“Nothing good must be happening on the other side”
Eren reserves his comments, since no one in his town knows that behind that mountain lives that treacherous witch.
Every wolf born was instilled with the idea that that mountain was forbidden. And it would remain that way for centuries to come.
— “We must continue” —He orders his beta.
The wolves ran in the same direction only with the beta’s order, Eren took one last look at the mountain and followed his people. He wasn’t going to abandon his friend.
[…]Bardas and his group were resting in the middle of the forest, when they were barely halfway there. When suddenly, a disturbing chill runs through his body. The young man stands up, while his companions dozed a little.
The boy looks for where that bad omen came from and realizes that the witch’s mountain was beginning to have life after so long.
—What is happening in that place? Something has happened to Adara’s father.
The young man had been informed that the blue moon alpha would undertake the trip to the mountain, but he did not believe that he would do so so soon. That meant that the blue moon pack was unprotected.
He was worried about the fact that his moon was without the support of his father the alpha, he needed to quicken his step. So they had to travel that same night and in their wolf form. At least one part of the group, the other, would carry the food supplies in their human form.
Bardas observes those greenish sparkles around the mountain, if that was happening it meant that Ethan had found the witch.
“Everyone, wake up, right now,” he shouts in a loud and authoritative voice.
[…]She wiped the sweat from her mother’s forehead, she was caught in a fever and the worst of all was that she did not come down from it. Many times the fever stopped when night came, but not this time. And she was worrying.
The matriarch gave her no hope of making it through the night, and on top of that, her father had left that same day, being alone at home was not good. Although her uncles supported her, she needed her father by her side.
Adara looks at her mother’s face and sees pain reflected in it. She was sorry for the suffering she was going through, if only she could do something to ease her sorrow.
“Ethan come back, please come back,” she murmured without stopping the brunette.
—Calm down, mother, dad will arrive very soon with the cure for your pain.
—She comes back, please.
He was very bad, her paleness was getting worse every now and then. The young woman walks away from her mother when she sees that she is falling asleep again. She approaches the window, and from there, she can clearly see the top of the mountain.
The young woman sharpens her gaze when she notices those green sparks around the mountain. She gets scared, because she knows that her father was in that place.
“Oh, father! He comes back alive, please,” she begs.
[…]The strong smell of medicinal herbs was everywhere, the only thing you could breathe was that penetrating and even repulsive aroma.
Ethan opens his eyes not being able to stand that unpleasant smell, the wolf sits down while he holds his head.
—You’re a pretty tough alpha, I didn’t expect you to win my tests.
-What are you taking about?
He looks up to see the witch sitting on what looked like an altar… at that moment she, dressed differently, her clothes were more exposed, she showed more skin than a person should show.
For what she was, she didn’t look it at all.
—When you left your pack you began to go through my trials; cross the mountain, pierce the thorns, the putrid lake. Don’t eat or drink anything, the truth is that I thought you would drink water from the lake when you came out of the tunnel of thorns. But it wasn’t like that —She raises an eyebrow.
—And don’t leave behind your ridiculous attempts at seduction —She smiles a little.
-Oh! But look how clever you have been. You are the first wolf to pass that test without even faltering for a second, it’s a shame you didn’t die.
—Let’s stop the meaningless conversations, I don’t have time to waste. I’ve already been traveling for two days, I can’t waste any more days that are valuable to me.
-Oh yeah! your human wife…—He answers, standing up—. You haven’t been traveling for two days, wolf. You have barely left your pack this afternoon, when you enter my domain it is as if your trip became longer than normal.
The witch took a cloak of black fur and throws it over Ethan’s body.
—I don’t have clothes for humans, use those to cover yourself. “Your human body doesn’t interest me,” she adds, as she walks to another section of what looked like a shack.
-Where are we? —Ethan was a little relieved to know that he hadn’t been away from home that long.
—You already said it, we don’t need to talk about meaningless topics. What do you want from me, wolf? Do you want your human wife to be saved from the illness that afflicts her? Shery is about to die.
—Yes, Shery is sick. The matriarch can’t do anything for her, but I know you can. For that reason I have come, and I have gone through each of your tests – He responds while standing.
“I know…” She looks at him maliciously over the edge of her shoulders, at the same time she continues to advance. That world to which you subjected her is not for a human, as long as the poor woman has lasted.
—Can you save her, witch?
She looks back to the front and that’s when she stops before a shelf full of potions, concoctions, herbs and endless strange things. The woman smiles and sharpens her gaze.
—Of course I can save her, wolf. There is nothing impossible for me, but I know that that is not all you want from me,” she answers as she continues searching for something with her eyes.
Ethan is silent.
—I want her to be able to become a wolf, I want her to be one of us in the total plenitude of her. He couldn’t bear it if she fell ill again, or died of old age.
—Ahh! “What an ambitious wolf.” She turns around and looks at him smiling. Poor Shery is no longer the same young woman as before, Ahh! Didn’t you love the old version of her? “She,” she exclaims, throwing her head back in a sensual manner. “Youth is a divine gift that very few have the pleasure of having,” she adds, biting her l*p as she gazes firmly at Ethan.
—This is not about his physical condition, besides, that doesn’t matter to you. I just want to know if you can help her,” she asks firmly, ignoring her attempts at seduction. That witch was very insistent, but her heart breaks for Shery and no one else.
-Oh! Since you love her like that, all old and ugly… I’ll tell you if I can, wolf. Of course I can help you! “She”—she watches him covetously.
Ethan’s heart was beating frantically; If that witch spoke the truth, then his wife…
“But don’t go so fast, my dear alpha.” That woman’s gaze suddenly darkened. I can save your wife from that terrible disease, and also turn her into a beautiful wolf.
—So, let’s do it now, tell me what I should do? She doesn’t have much time left to live.
—I am aware of that—The witch closes her eyes and then stretches her body a little.
Ethan looks at her as if waiting for her response.
—Your wife is dying, alpha. She won’t make it past the next new moon.
“But that’s tomorrow night.”
-That’s how it is! “She,” she reveals, opening her eyes. Shery will die.
—Don’t allow it, please, save her.
“You must pay the price, wolf,” she whispers with desire reflected in her eyes.
Eren did not make the comment about any payment, but it was logical that that witch would ask him for something in return. The detail was what. From that woman she could expect everything; of giving her own life in exchange for that of his wife.
“What do you want, witch?” —Frown your gaze.
—What are you willing to do for your beloved wife, alpha wolf? She—she walks toward him dangerously, swaying her curves seductively—. Would you do anything for Shery? “She,” he whispers against her ear once beside her, then circles her body, while she caresses her skin with her sharp black nails.
“Yes,” she answers without hesitation.
-Whatever? Are you completely sure of your answer? There will be no turning back once we make the deal, wolf. With me there are no retractions, either you accept or you leave, or you die — she mutters behind her back, at the same time that she scratches her chest with treachery, allowing the alpha’s b***d to flow in the form of tears.
-Yeah. I will do what you ask of me, I give you my word that it will be so. I just want you to keep your word to heal her and turn her into a wolf.
—Our pact will be with b***d, alpha. That way, neither of them would fail in his promise.
“Okay, tell me what your ambitious dark heart wants.” She smiles.
“How flattering…” He bites her ear with bad intentions. To grant you that wish, in exchange I want the head and heart of the one you call your enemy.
