Chapter 127

Vanda got out of bed and freshened up

to get ready for work. As she reached into her bag,

to her bag, she felt the talisman.

the pulled it out, but she watched in disbelief as the talisman turned to ash the moment it touched her hand.

Vanda was dumbfounded.

Good things would come to those in need.

the remembered Madison had given her a strange, thoughtful look the day before. Right after, Madison decided to sell the talisman to ter. Could it be...

Jid Madison know that Lucian's ghost would come for her?

Vanda wondered if Madison hadn't been trying to make money. Instead, Madison had been trying to save her.

Vanda stared at the pile of ashes on the floor. Her heart raced as she silently called for Madison's help.

Wanda's colleague raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you say you didn't want to go to Ms Locke's place again? I thought you didn't want to be orced into buying another talisman."

Hearing that, Wanda immediately denied it, "I never said that! Ms. Locke wasn't forcing me. I bought it willingly. She's a good person."

Her colleague was speechless.

Who knew someone could be this tickle?

When Wanda and her colleague arrived at Haven House, they set the food on the table. As they were finishing, Wanda's colleague addressed Madison formally, "Ms Locke, please enjoy your meal. When would you like us to return?" There weren't many dishes today as Madison had only ordered two

""Half an hour is fine."

Wanda hesitated for a moment before speaking up, "Ms. Locke, if you don't mind, would it be okay if we waited here until you're done?

Her colleague gave her a confused look.

Although their job allowed them to wait while the customer finished their meal, given how huge Haven House was and the lack of maids, Madison clearly didn't want to be disturbed

Wanda usually wasn't this impulsive, so her colleague was confused about the way she acted today.

Madison glanced at Wanda and nodded. "Sure. Find a place to sit while you wait."

Wanda's colleague dragged her over to a bench in the garden.

"What are you thinking? Ms. Locke clearly doesn't want to be disturbed, yet you asked to stay? What if she files a complaint?"

Wanda glanced at the living room. "I don't think she's that kind of person. I believe she knows why I want to stay."

"Why do you want to stay?"

Wanda was unsure of how to explain it without scaring her colleague. "It's complicated. Only Ms. Locke can help me."

This deepened her colleague's curiosity.

After Madison finished her meal, Wanda cleaned up and dried her hands before approaching Madison.

Madison was now reclining on a chair while reading a book. She wore a simple white dress that was embroidered elegantly with flowers, and her hair was held up with a wooden hairpin. Her hair caught the sunlight streaming through the windows, giving it a soft, golden sheen

Despite the plain outfit, Madison exuded an ethereal, otherworldly grace. She was just like a goddess.

Wanda marveled at Madison's beauty. She was confused as to how she hadn't realized this before. Perhaps she was too blind to see it or she was too shocked by the talisman's insane price.

A flood of thoughts raced through her mind. Just then, Madison met her gaze, and she snapped back into reality.

"Ms. Locke, please help me."

Wanda fell to her knees in desperation. She spilled, "Yesterday, I failed to recognize how kind you truly were. You saved me, yet I had the audacity to complain about the price of the talisman, "Ms. Locke, last night..."

Wanda quickly recounted everything that happened the previous night. "I thought it was just a nightmare, but when I saw the ashes of the talisman this morning, I realized that it was you who saved me."
