The Fortune-Telling Heiress -
Chapter 158
Chapter 158
Madison smiled and nodded. Not long after, the sound of a car pulling up outside the villa reached their ears. Jordan parked the car and, ever the gentleman, quickly walked to the passenger side to open the door. "Jade, come on out now."
A pale and delicate hand reached out to hold Jordan's hand, followed by a pair of slender legs. She had a graceful figure and striking face that could stop traffic. With just a glance, her beauty seemed to captivate the entire room. "Mom, Dad, this is Jade Parker. Jade, these are my parents, and this is Ms. Madison, the benefactor of our family."
Jade smiled, greeting them warmly, "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Salle."
Her gaze shifted to Madison, and for a fleeting second, her eyes flickered with something unreadable. "Hello, Ms. Madison." "Come inside! You must be tired after the trip." Josephine's voice was gentle, her smile warm, showing genuine hospitality. Jordan shot Jade a playful look, whispering, "See? I told you my parents are easy-going."
Jade smiled back, though her eyes continued to dart toward Madison. "You didn't tell me there was such a beautiful woman in your family. She's stunning!"
Her gaze lingered on Madison, almost in admiration.
Jordan quickly laughed it off. "Jade, don't get the wrong idea. Ms. Madison is like the moon in the sky. She's way beyond anyone's reach. Even thinking about her in that way would be disrespectful."
Jade leaned affectionately against Jordan, playfully nudging him. "Of course, I trust you."
After dinner, Jordan took Jade outside for a walk.
As soon as they left, Josephine hurriedly pulled Madison aside, whispering in a corner, "Maddie, I really like this woman. She's not just pretty, but she's also polite and well-mannered."
It was clear she was genuinely fond of Jade.
"Are you sure their horoscopes aren't compatible?"
"They're not."
Josephine sighed. "Is there a way to fix it? You saw how much Jordan likes her. I'd feel terrible breaking them apart."
Madison glanced in the direction Jordan and Jade had gone, then asked, "Mrs. Salle, have you noticed anything different about Jordan since he's been back?"
Josephine paused to think. "His complexion seems off. He has dark circles under his eyes, red veins in his eyes, and he's been yawning a lot." She looked at Madison, slightly confused. "Is that a problem?" Vincent, who had been quietly listening, coughed awkwardly. "Well... You know how it is with young people. It's not uncommon for a young man to be a bit... tired when he's spending time with a woman he likes." Josephine, picking up on Vincent's meaning, immediately understood and added with an embarrassed chuckle, "Oh! Maddie, it's normal, you see."
Worried that Madison might not get the implication, she fumbled with her words, unsure how to explain further. Madison's expression remained calm. "It's not normal. This woman is draining his energy." Vincent's and Josephine's smiles froze, and both of them suddenly felt very awkward. Vincent stammered, "Well, uh... Young people don't always know their limits. I'll talk to Jordan about self-control." Madison shook her head. "Jade isn't a normal woman. She's a snake demon. Those enchanted by her will fall ill, and over time, they'll die."
Silence fell in the room.
Vincent and Josephine were left speechless. So, when she said Jade was draining his energy, she meant literally draining his life energy and not in the way they had assumed.
