The Fortune-Telling Heiress -
Chapter 157
Chapter 157
A piece of breaking financial news was reported that day, "Harvey Locke, the general manager of Locke Corporation, resigned from his position two days ago. The official statement from Locke Corporation claims Harvey is dealing with personal matters. "William, the patriarch, is aging, and with three sons and one daughter, any one of them could potentially take over the company. Harvey's departure may indicate an internal family conflict-one in which Harvey may have lost."
The television broadcast showed a well-known financial expert who was wearing a serious expression as he analyzed Harvey's sudden resignation.
The program shifted to the rise of Locke Corporation, highlighting Harvey's performance. They then delved into the family's current economic situation.
Yara's eyes widened as she stared at the TV before she turned to Madison. "If I hadn't known Harvey resigned to chase after his love, I'd almost believe this guy."
Madison glanced at the expert on the screen, her brows furrowing slightly before she looked away. "That man carries a karmic debt, and his misfortunes spill from his mouth. Don't believe a single word he says."
Yara clucked her tongue. "People are hard to read. From his appearance, I thought he was a scholar or something."
The expert on TV had a round face, and his expression carried the air of an educated intellectual. He always had a knowing smile. Madison, however, wasn't convinced. "His round face and short nose show he has a tendency to exaggerate. His thin lips, small ears, and protruding jawline indicate that he loves to be the center of attention and will compromise principles for small gains."
After listening to Madison's evaluation, Yara took another look at the expert on-screen and nodded. "Now that you mention it, I can kind of see that."
Just as they were talking, the doorbell rang. Wanda opened the door to reveal Josephine walking in with a broad smile. "Maddie."
""Mrs. Salle."
Mia immediately rushed over, beaming. "Mommy!"
The moment Josephine entered, her latent ability to see phantom visions kicked in. She spotted Mia right away and scooped her up, happily doting on her daughter.
After playing with Mia for a while, Josephine put her down and approached Madison. "Maddie, I've got good news today, and I need a favor from you."
"Good news?"
"Yes! My son, Jordan, has found a woman he really likes. He wants to bring her home to meet us, and if we're happy with her, they're going to get married." Josephine was practically glowing with joy at the thought of her son getting married.
"Even though he's still young, it's about time. And it's so rare for him to say he likes a woman! He's even bringing her to meet us. So, I asked for her horoscope in hopes you can check if they're a good match." Josephine then handed over a slip of paper with the woman's horoscope.
"If they're compatible, I'll start planning the wedding. It's her first time coming over, so we want to make sure everything's perfect. Madison took the paper but didn't open it. Instead, she simply said, "There's no need to check. They're not a good match." Josephine froze. "Their horoscopes don't align?"
Madison shook her head. "No, that's not it. This is his calamity. I've warned him about it before, but it seems he's not taking it seriously."
A wave of worry washed over Josephine, but she didn't doubt Madison's words. "What do we do now? He called and sounded so sure about marrying her. I could tell from his voice that he's determined."

Maddie said, "If they're not compatible, I can't exactly force them to break up, can I?"
"Maddie, is there any way to change this? They're deeply in love. If there's a way to fix it, I'll pay whatever it takes."
Madison didn't immediately agree or disagree. She simply said, "When Jordan gets home, I'll go have a look." Josephine quickly nodded. "Okay, that's good."

Two days later at the Salle residence, Vincent and Josephine were both at home, dressed for the occasion and giving orders to the kitchen to prepare the foods the woman liked. Josephine clung nervously to Madison, whispering, "Maddie, if their horoscopes really don't match, tell me privately. I'll figure something out.

She didn't want to be the villainous mother-in-law who broke up her son's relationship. Heaven knew she was excited to finally have a daughter-in-law in the family.
