Of course, Rachel had to pull out the big guns.

Malcolm's eyes lit up. Rachel really turned up the heat. She must have been ready to go all out. However, Malcolm regained his composure and played dumb.

"What are you saying, Rachel? I'd never let anything happen to you. You're my niece."

Rachel responded in resignation. "This is really not cool, Uncle Malcolm. If you don't give me the bodyguards, I can't even protect myself. That's as good as taking my life. If you keep this up, I won't hold back either." Malcolm decided to keep up the act. "You've got the wrong idea, Rachel. That's not what I meant. Anyways, the bodyguards are all men, so you wouldn't be able to manage them as a woman.

"I'll take care of them for now until they get to know you. After that, I'll turn them over to you."

Rachel's demeanor turned colder as she slowly got up. "If the bodyguards can't protect them, what's the use of them, Uncle Malcolm? I'm disbanding the bodyguard team."

When Rachel finished her sentence, Jared, the HR manager, walked in with the finance manager. Rachel waved her hand and said, "Come with me to fire a few people."

After she finished speaking, Rachel led the two people out of the office. Malcolm freaked out. "Have you lost it, Rachel?"

Rachel couldn't care less and made her way to the 16th floor, which was dedicated to the bodyguards. It had dorms, a gym, an equipment room with all the equipment a martial artist needed, and many other facilities. Right then, about 20 people were training. Some were boxing, some were practicing with their staffs, and some were on their games. Everyone was pretty laid-back, doing whatever they felt like.

Suddenly, Rachel burst into the room. Everyone was taken aback for a moment but soon returned to what they were doing. They all seemed to ignore her presence.

Seeing how the bodyguards responded, Malcolm was pretty satisfied with it and nodded in approval. All those years of effort had paid off with a loyal group of bodyguards, and he considered it his success.

Upon seeing this, Rachel's expression grew colder. She grabbed a notebook from the HR manager. "You're fired, Jacob Rivera. Head to finance and get your final paycheck."

A man with short hair and a baton stepped forward. "What's the reason?"

Rachel coldly remarked, "It's because you haven't been doing your job as a bodyguard. As the president, I have the authority to make sure the finance department doesn't issue your pay."

Glancing at Malcolm, Jacob dismissively said, "We're under Mr. Carter. You don't get to decide who stays or goes." With a grim expression, Rachel added, "Feel free to stay. But if you get paid next month, I'll consider it my defeat." Jacob looked at Malcolm, seemingly asking what to do next. Malcolm gestured with his hand, showing a fist.

Jacob got the message and slowly walked toward Rachel with his baton. You're really forcing my hand here, Mrs. Carter. If you're going to push me, I won't make it easy for yott either."

Rachel took a step back. "What are you doing?"

Jacob coldly replied, "Teaching you a lesson."

Right after Jacob spoke, a voice rang out from the door. "You better not even think about laying your hand on her."

Rachel spotted Matthew and immediately rushed over to hide behind him.

Jacob furrowed his brows. The bodyguards had always been isolated from things happening outside, and they didn't meddle in the company business. So, he had no idea who Matthew was. "Who are you?"

Matthew pointed at Rachel. "I'm her chauffeur."

A mere chauffeur? A hint of disdain flashed in Jacob's eyes.

"You're just a chauffeur, and you

think you can get in my way. Are you trying to play the hero? Too bad you don't have what it takes. If you're asking for trouble, don't be surprised if stop playing nice."

Jacob had barely finished speaking when a kick came flying to him and landed squarely on his face.

Matthew's heavy foot smacked right into Jacob's face with a solid thud, and Jacob went down like a sack of potatoes.
