Jacob was unconscious on the floor, and the room went totally silent. Everyone was in disbelief. A mere chauffeur had actually taken down a skilled fighter with one blow. Upon seeing this, Malcolm found his eye twitching. If this was enough to intimidate everyone, all the bodyguards would be fired, and he had no way to contend against Rachel. So, Malcolm signaled to a man with a scar on his face.

That man was Brendon Hatfield, a martial artist who had been kicked out from a martial arts family. He was usually quite full of himself and looked down on all the bodyguards here. However, Brendon had the skill to back up his arrogance. He could take down anyone in just three moves, so they called him the Untouchable.

Brendon picked up on the cue and walked up to Matthew. "Even though you're just a chauffeur, that moved you pulled earlier showed you've got some skills.

"Sure, you can handle these fools, but you're no match for me. I'll take you out in three moves."

The way Brendon talked was filled with menace. When he mentioned the death threat, he exuded a bloodthirsty vibe, and his bloodshot eyes were filled with rage.

Matthew shook his head. "I don't want to fight you. It'll be a waste of time. No matter the outcome, you're still getting fired and won't get paid. I don't get what you're trying to achieve." "Are you scared now?"

Brendon smirked wickedly. He clenched his fists and set himself up in a weird stance, ready for battle.

Matthew shook his head. "I've got a paycheck, so what do I need to be scared of? You're the one who should be worried since you're not getting paid anymore."

Brendon furrowed his brows. He came to work for the Carter family because of the high wages, and he was in serious need of that money. Hearing Matthew keep saying he wouldn't get paid anymore really hit him hard. Brendon stopped in his tracks and loosened up his fists, losing his will to fight.

Upon seeing this, Matthew figured the situation out. "Send everyone behind you packing, and I'll double your salary." Brendon started to think it over but had reservations about Matthew's authority. He then looked over at Rachel. Rachel nodded. "He's not just a chauffeur, but also the captain of the bodyguards. What he says goes."

Malcolm was desperate. "Get it straight, Brendon. You need to know who's your boss and who's paying your salary."

Brendon shook his head. "Sorry, but

the offer's too good to pass up. It's double what you're paying. Looks like I'm working for someone else

now."

"You bastard!" Malcolm exclaimed..

He was about to lose it. Brendon was the best he had. If he switched sides, his bodyguard team would become history.

Matthew didn't expect Brendon to be

so hasty about it, which saved him the trouble of handling the situation himself. "Throw out those who refuse to leave. You're officially hired." en FindNovel

Brendon turned and looked at the other bodyguards. "So, are you going to walk out or do I have to kick you out?"

Everyone backed away, and no one dared to face Brendon. Brendon suddenly yelled, "Scram!"

Terrified, the bodyguards huddled against the wall and inched toward the door. As soon as they reached it, they bolted outside, as though they'd get pummeled if they didn't hurry.

With everyone gone, Brendon went up to Matthew. "Am I officially starting now?"

Matthew nodded. "That's right. You're officially in."

Brendon looked at his watch. "I expect to get 200 thousand dollars in my paycheck by this time next month."

Matthew told the accountant, "Wire him three months of his pay right now."
