Marvin's

POV

I was enjoying a relaxing morning with Beth. We decided to skip the dining hall commotion and have a nice breakfast just the two of us. Beth and I still resided in the pack house on the Beta floor. We had a large residence here that I planned to move out of once Logan took over. The last thing I needed was to live anywhere near him and his little monkeys. We had a plan to move into one of the houses near Julia and her mom, but that was before I knew the Alpha was planning to banish her.

I was waiting for Gregory's call to go and do it. Beth and I had spoken about it, and we agreed I would take her and hide her somewhere. Let Gregory think she was gone and give her the chance to get to the nearest human town. We had some money set aside that I was going to give her to help her get a head start. As long as Gregory thought she was gone, it was all that mattered. I don't think he wanted her dead, just gone. Although I wouldn't put it past him to change his mind. "What are you thinking about?" Beth asked me. We were lounging out on our balcony in the hammock.

"Just about Julianna and what I'm gonna have to do."

"Shh, keep your voice down," she warned. There was always someone listening from somewhere, especially the warriors. They loved nothing more than to get on the Alpha's good side by ratting people out. "You're right, let's go inside and talk." She climbed out of the hammock first, and I followed her. All the way back into our apartment, we took a seat on the couch.

"When do you have to take her?" Beth asked first.

"I don't know, I'm waiting for Gregory to tell me."

"Have you told her anything?"

"No, not yet. I don't know what to say."

"Just tell her the truth, I'm sure she'll be happy to be out of here."

"Goddess, this is going to crush Sandra. Julia is all she has left."

"Why can't you take her too?"

"I don't want to risk it. If I did, Gregory might suspect I've been helping her, or he might send people after Sandra to bring her back. He doesn't take kindly to people leaving the pack."

"Well, let me worry about Sandra. I've always been able to get through to her when no one else could." Beth and Sandra had always been close, especially when Sandra's mate was still alive and they were the Gamma couple.

"We just need to make sure Julia is safe from rogues until she gets into town. Even then, they could still be trouble." Suddenly, I heard Gregory's voice in my head.

"Marvin, come to my office now!"

"Sh*t. I have to go," I told Beth. "Why?"

"Gregory needs to see me."

"I guess it's time then. Let me know what happens."

"I will," I said, standing up and giving her a kiss. It wasn't a far walk from our residence to the Alpha floor. I passed by a couple of omegas on the way and caught a little of what they were saying.

"Did you hear? That hybrid's Alpha Logan's mate."

"What? How did you hear that?"

"Apparently, it happened in front of the dining hall and a lot of pack members were still there."

"But I don't understand; shouldn't he be mated to an Alpha's daughter? I thought he hated her?"

"I don't know, the Moon Goddess never makes mistakes though." I froze outside Gregory's door as they continued down the hall.

"Did you hear that too?"

"Yeah, that can't be right though."

"When have omegas ever had the wrong information? They know things before anyone." He was right, but it just couldn't be true. It didn't make sense. Why would the Moon Goddess do that to Julia? I knocked on Gregory's door. I needed to know what was happening.

"Enter," I heard from the other side. I opened the door and stepped inside.

"Alpha," I said, bowing my head.

"Have a seat Marvin, we have something important to discuss." I sat down on the edge of the seat, terrified about what was going to come out of this man's mouth.

"Is something wrong, Alpha?"

"That depends on who you ask. It has come to my attention that the hybrid is Logan's mate."

"Fu*k, I guess those omegas had the right information after all."

"How is that possible?" I asked in disbelief.

"I don't know. I told him to reject her, but Levi wouldn't allow it. It seems the mate bond is very strong for him. I know I told you to take her out of this pack, but it looks like circumstances have changed."

"So, what are you going to do with her then?" I was worried about what he was going to say next.

"I don't know. She can't be the Luna of this pack; it will ruin everything I have built. Logan wants to keep her, but I don't know for what purpose."

"Well, a fated mate bond is stronger than a chosen one. It makes the Alpha stronger."

"Be that as it may, if he isn't going to mark her, I see no point in keeping her around. This is quite the dilemma we have on our hands."

"I would agree with you there." It was hard to wrap my mind around. The Moon Goddess had mated Julianna to the person who hates her the most? Then I had another thought. "Where is she?"

"Who? The hybrid? I had Logan take her to his room. If he wants to keep her, that's fine for now, but I want her away from the other pack members. Also, being locked in his room, she wouldn't be able to make a run for it." "Smart thinking," I told him.

"So, this complicates our plan slightly. Now that she's Logan's mate, he'll be able to smell her from a mile away. She also will have to break their bond if she has any hope of leaving. He'll feel it as soon as she crosses the border now." Ray was beside himself at this

news.

"They were going to sense her anyway because once she leaves, she'll need to break all ties with the pack."

"Yeah, but they would just sense someone leaving, now they'll know it's her."

"Calm down, we can figure this out."

"We need to figure this out before Logan's ceremony. Once he takes over as Alpha, there won't be much I can do about it. I have to think about this."

"What do you need me to do?" I asked him.

"I need you to make sure she stays in that room. I want you to go talk to the head warrior and make sure all patrols are on the lookout for her. She could still try some ill-fated escape attempt. I have a guard outside the door now keeping watch around the clock." "Yes, Alpha. I'll get right on it." I got up and started to walk to the door.

"Oh, Marvin." I turned back to face Gregory. "If it comes down to it and she does try to escape, just kill her. Logan will be able to withstand the pain as he's an Alpha's son. The last thing I need is for him to go chasing after her for some Goddess unknown reason." I just nodded my head and walked out the door.

"We definitely won't be doing that," Ray said defiantly. When I turned to walk towards the elevators, I saw Sandra coming towards me, in the hands of a large warrior.

"Beta Marvin!" She yelled.

"Let her go" I told the warrior.

"Yes Beta," he said, releasing her arm.

"Go back to your post," I told him. He turned and walked back the way he came. From that direction, I assumed he was the one guarding Logan's door to make sure Julia didn't leave. Once he was out of ear shot, I took Sandra and pulled her into one of the empty guest rooms on the Alpha floor.

"Have you seen Julia?" I asked her.

"I just talked to her, only for a few minutes though."

"The Alpha has ordered her to be shut in Logan's room and remain there until his Alpha ceremony. He says Logan wants to keep her as his mate, but not his Luna for now. Gregory just told me he wants to figure out what to do with her while he's still Alpha, that doesn't give us much time."

"We have to get her out of this. He's going to end up killing her." The desperation in her voice was that of only a parent. The need to protect your children was stronger than anything else.

"Don't worry, we will. She's safe for now, the ceremony is in a couple of days. I will spend every minute I can working on a plan to get her out."

"I'm so worried about her, I can't lose her. She's all I have left!" Tears were glistening in her eyes.

"Don't cry, listen to me. Go home and I'll keep you updated. I'm going to keep her safe, I promise. There's a likelihood I'll be taking her out of this pack, and you won't see her again. I need you to prepare yourself for that. Make sure no one knows about this conversation. Gregory will have you killed if he thinks for a second you had any part of this."

"Okay," she said, taking in a shaky breath. She left the room, but I stayed behind sitting down on the bed. I rubbed the side of my face. I had about two days to figure out what to do. I knew I could get her out, I had to. Logan would t*****e her in a new way now. She would never be able to get away from him.
