The Luna’s Pure Heart – Chapter 39

(Eleanor pov)

I continued to watch my mate sleep, his deep breaths soothing and calming me as I studied every inch of his wolf.

He curled around me protectively, his huge paws covered my body as my head rested against his thick furry chest. How was Titus so big? Were all the previous Alpha Kings this huge? It seemed unreal how magnificent he was.

Suddenly I heard a branch snap in the distance, the sun had just risen and the golden rays pierced through the tree’s canopies. I stiffened beneath Titus, straining my ears, listening to any type of sound.

Just then I heard another branch snap and with that, Titus’s eyes snapped open. A deep guttural growl began to rumble from his chest. His body slowly rose, making me stand with him as my fingers gripped his fur tightly.

Someone was watching us..more than someone..there were many of them. Titus glanced down at me, nudging me to step behind him. I sniffed the air, smelling multiple wolves, not just any wolves but rogues. I guess I am technically one now as well but these wolves have been rogues for a long time. I could smell their distinctive trash-like odor and bad hygiene. The fact that I was naked finally registered and I tried hiding myself against Titus. There had to be at least eight wolves that slowly appeared out of the woods.

How far did we run? I obviously didn’t know anything about this area since it was my first time exploring but I could still hear the ocean crashing by not too far away.

‘Kari, are you able to shift?’

I linked her quickly, trying to figure out what to do as we were now surrounded on all sides. I saw the hair on the back of Titus’s neck stand straight up as he slowly backed up.

‘I’m too tired..I’m sorry Elle.’

Kari linked me weakly, trying her hardest to use her strength but she was spent.

As we continued backing up, Titus nudged me against a large tree, signaling me to stay put as he pointed his head and nose toward the ground.

I nodded my head, showing I understood what he wanted me to do and then he puffed his chest out..I swear he grew three sizes larger just by taking his defensive stance. Wow, was he amazing. I could help but gush at the pure power my mate was exuding. While I was practically drooling over my mate, the rogues didn’t quite have those same feelings. I noticed they instantly froze in place, their eyes glancing between each other erratically as they debated their life choices.

Titus crouched down, a low rumbling growl shaking the earth as he engaged every muscle in his body and lunged forward. He quickly caught two rogues in his jaw, slamming them to the ground as my jaw dropped..it was over that quickly. The other rogues stupidly thought they had the upper hand as they lunged for his back, latching on and trying to bite through his thick fur. It barely made a scratch..he whipped his rear end around, making the rogue fly off as he slammed his massive paw down, killing another like it was nothing.

“Titus watch out!” I shouted in a panic, seeing the remaining wolves strike behind him all at once. One managed to latch his jaw around Titus’s leg, seeming to break the skin but Titus didn’t make a single sound. He just looked down, his eyes burning with fury as he ripped the wolf off of him, slamming him into the remaining two, and pounced on them.

I looked away, knowing it would be a sight that would live in my mind forever, and wanted to spare myself from those kinds of dreams. The fact that Titus just took down eight wolves like it was nothing was astonishing. His Alpha aura and sheer power were a force to be reckoned with. Now I understand why he is the Alpha King.

After a few seconds of silence, I turned my head back, looking towards Titus as I realized he was now watching me. His snout was covered in b***d and his breathing was ragged. I pushed off of the tree, walking towards my mate as he looked at me with confusion.

Suddenly I ran forward, my arms wrapping around Titus’s thick neck as I hugged him tightly as tears began streaming down my cheeks, my emotions surfacing as I cried in Titus’s fur.

“I was so scared for you. You could have gotten hurt.” I sobbed, what the hell was wrong with me? Why was I being such a baby..seriously? Maybe I was just in shock. I have never seen a fight like that before. Honestly, I have never seen a rogue before in person. I have heard about them and sometimes I see the aftermath but never a full-on fight like that.

Suddenly I felt Titus’s tongue lapping at my shoulder, licking me tenderly as I couldn’t help but laugh from how it tickled mt skin.

“Sorry, I shouldn’t be crying, I didn’t even do anything.” I chuckled while wiping my eyes. Just then, Titus licked from my neck to my forehead, leaving a sopping-wet trail while I started to laugh again.

“Thanks, I think I’m clean enough now.” I teased, looking into his crystal blue eyes.

I wonder what Damion was thinking..would he be mad that we went this far out?

I looked around the forest, unsure of which way to even go as I brushed a strand of silver hair behind my ear.

“Do you know where we are?” I asked Titus, glancing back at him as I tried my hardest not to look at the unmoving wolves lying around us.

He nodded his head once, jerking his snout towards his back as I blinked at him in surprise.

“You..you want me to ride on your back?” At least that was what I thought he was indicating..

He nodded a single time once again.

I bit my l*p nervously, looking around again, and then let out a long sigh.

“Okay.” I guess this was the only choice really..I shouldn’t be walking through the forest naked anyways. Suddenly I looked down, noticing Titus’s leg was dripping b***d and I gasped.

“You’re hurt.” I quickly kneeled down, examining his paw as he huffed above me. He quickly jerked it from my hand and jerked his head once more, telling me to get on his back.

I frowned, looking at his paw, I knew he would be able to heal fast, but I still felt bad.

Something inside of me was drawn to his leg, like a warmth that I felt before when I fell from the river.

‘Put your hand over it Elle.’

Kari whispered, feeling that light as well.

I reached forward once more, my hand touching where the rogue bit him as he jerked his leg away again.

“Please, let me try something.” I spoke softly, meeting his gaze as his eyes studied me.

He nodded his head as I wrapped my hand around his leg once more and closed my eyes, letting that bright light fill me.

It felt just like that day when the light washed through my body, healing me instantly.

I let it consume me, the warmth such a comfort as it tingled my fingers. After the light rushed through me, it slowly faded away once again, disappearing just like before and I lifted my hand away. Glancing down, the bite was all healed, as if it never happened to begin with.

I snapped my head up to Titus smiling widely as he tilted his head in surprise, staring down at me.

“I guess I can do that…I think it’s a part of this.” I said pointing to my silver hair, feeling just as surprised as Titus looked finding out this new information.

Titus snorted a sound to what I thought was similar to a laugh and couldn’t help but giggle.

He nudged me once again and I walked towards his side, getting the hint that it was time to go as he lowered to the ground, letting me climb on top of him.

I boosted myself up, swinging my leg over his back, and practically fell right off again. Luckily I was able to grip his fur for dear life which helped me stay on.

Titus seemed even bigger from up here as he stood, making my eyes widen from how high up I was. He glanced back at me, baring his teeth into the most hilarious attempt at a smile I had ever seen, making my heart melt, and then he was off. Titus lunged forward as I hugged his sides tightly, trying my hardest not to slip right off the side. He was so fast that I felt like we were flying through the trees as they zoomed past us in a blur. We must have traveled pretty far because I had to be on his back for an hour so far and he was going faster than I ever thought possible.

He began to slow, his breathing steadying as we approached another clearing through the woods. Just then he stopped completely, signaling for me to get down as I slid off of him. Before I knew it, he darted away, leaving me alone in the woods as I crossed my arms in front of my body, trying to hide my nakedness.

I must have stood there for five minutes before he came bounding back, carrying some fabric in his mouth. I soon realized it was my dress and underwear that I wore yesterday. So we must be close to the castle after all.

Reached my hand out, taking the clothes from him as he watched me intently. I smiled softly, slipping on my panties quickly and then my bra. Then I stepped into my dress, pulling it up over my curvy body as I kept my eyes on Titus. He sat there patiently, his eyes not leaving mine as I walked forward. My hands reached out, gripping both sides of Titus’s massive head as I placed a gentle k**s on his snout.

“Thank you, Titus.” I whispered, seeing his tail wag as I couldn’t help but smile.

Then his eyes changed into a darker blue. He quickly pulled his head away and took off in the opposite direction, leaving me alone in the woods as I watched my mate run away from me yet again..
