The Luna’s Pure Heart – Chapter 77

(Damion pov)

Every mile we got closer to B***d Moon, I could feel Eleanor grow more and more tense. Our bond practically gave an insight into what she was thinking as her emotions felt so raw and unrestrained.

“Bunny, I’m right here with you.” I reminded her, watching as she nervously played with a string on her dress. Her eyes snapped to mine as she let out a deep breath.

“Thank you..I just never thought I would come back to this place..” She admitted, and seeing her like this was making that anger bubble up inside of me.

‘I want to kill every person who has ever hurt our mate..starting with that prick who was now the new Alpha’s son.’

Titus snarled the realization that we would be coming face to face with that man..if he so much as looked at her I swear I will lose it.

I took in a deep breath, trying to push those emotions to the side as I took Eleanor’s hand.

“No one has any power over you Eleanor..if you feel overwhelmed in the slightest, you just give me the word and we will leave.” I reassured her, thinking maybe this wasn’t the best idea now that we know Eleanor is pregnant. Is this too much stress?

“I will be fine, I am just nervous that’s all..if it’s too much I will tell you okay?” She added, feeling my own turmoil starting to rise..

“I love you Damion.” She whispered while leaning over and pressing her lips to mine. Her arms wrapping around my neck as she deepend the k**s..her touch making all of my worries slowly melt away.

“I love you too bunny.” I mumbled against her soft skin.

“My King, we are here.” Pierce informed us and I quickly noticed Eleanor’s demeanor change. She sat up straighter as she lifted her head higher and that’s when I knew my Queen was ready. She wasn’t going to let this get to her and I couldn’t be more proud.

We drove up a long winding road as we came to large black iron gates. There were two warriors stationed on each side and Pierce quickly rolled down his window and addressed them.

The guards didn’t even bother looking in the back seat, which I thought was interesting. By the way they looked around nervously, I knew my strong Aura was reaching them even through here. I guess that was all the confirmation they needed. They let us and the car full of our warriors behind us through without any problems.

I guess the fact that they know who my Queen is might make this go easier than I expected. Maybe they already know how much s**t they are in..

We slowly drove through their community area, I had to give it to B***d Moon, they definitely had a lot of resources here. I saw a few schools, a library, and multiple stores and restaurants..the issue is that the previous Alpha had a stake in every single thing. He was profiting off of all of it, leaving those that worked there to not be compensated enough to support the simplest of lifestyles.

I had the new Alpha send over all of the previous reports of spending and costs to try and help him actually succeed. The funniest part of it all is that Alpha Richards took inventory of every single dime he ever made or spent..Hey, it made my job easier. Alpha Jeffery Prescott, the former beta..let’s see what kind of man you are. If there is one inclination of deceit, Titus will know immediately and then unfortunately after that, there will be an opening for a new Alpha.

We came towards the large pack house which honestly was way over the top and unnecessary..but there is nothing we could do about that, the former Richards already spent the money on it..there’s no getting that back.

I glanced at Eleanor as the house came into view, her eyes were alert and absorbing everything around her. I knew this would be a big thing for her to come here..but I wanted to do it to help bring her closure honestly. I want her to see that Richards is no longer in charge and the people here are free of his terror.

We came to a stop and up ahead I could see a few people standing on the steps to the pack house. That’s when I saw the a*****e Alpha’s son..seeing his smug face and remembering how he tried to claim my mate..

“Damion, are you okay?” Eleanor asked softly, her hand touching my arm and bringing me back.

“Yeah, I will be honest though, if that new Alpha’s son tries to even speak to you..I won’t be able to control Titus.” I looked at her with a serious expression. She nodded her head, a soft smile pulling at her lips as she leaned into me.

“That’s funny, because Kari said the same thing.” She informed me and I couldn’t help but laugh, of course, Kari would think the same way. She has more of the temper out of the two.

“Well, I guess we got it covered then.” I smirked, watching as Pierce opened the door and I slid out, helping my Queen next.

Damn did she look f*****g gorgeous too. Her silver hair was cascading in waves down her back and she wore a deep green dress that hugged her body perfectly. She looked regal and elegant..she looked like a Queen.

I couldn’t help but pull her into me and k**s her, my hands resting on her lower back as we turned to walk towards the pack house steps.

‘Remember, it’s just you and me..None of these other people matter.’

I linked, glancing down at my Queen as she nodded and gave me one of her heart-racing smiles. Damn, this girl drives me crazy..

Looking back towards the pack house, I saw the new Alpha, his wife, and their son..who was staring at my mate intently..okay, I guess we are going to have a problem..I can already tell.

Eleanor’s small hand squeezed my own, feeling everything through the bond as we stepped forward. My eyes were locked on this a*****e, watching as his own wandered up and down my mate like he f*****g owned her..

That’s when a low guttural growl vibrated from my chest, causing the a*****e to glance toward me and stiffen immediately.

“Alpha Prescott, may I suggest you tell your son not to stare at my mate like that? Those lingering looks are the type that can get a man killed..especially by the Alpha King.” I spoke deeply and made sure to make myself very clear..I am not playing around when it comes to Eleanor..she is my f*****g life and if anyone tries to mess with what is mine..I will rip their throats out, it’s that simple.

“My king, I..I assure you he meant no harm, please forgive my son, we are in the process of giving him adequate training.” The Alpha stumbled out and I dragged my gaze to the son..the look on his face made me want to lunge right then and there..he was f*****g smirking..not at me either..at Eleanor.

Suddenly his dad jerked his arm, making his eyes meet mine now.

“Son, do apologize to the King for your insensitive behavior.” His dad hissed, anger flashing through him as the guy straightened his back and stared at me.

Wow, was this kid cocky..does he have a death wish?

“I’m sorry, your Majesty..but I’m sure you can understand how hard it is to look away from such a beautiful woman.” He said innocently, yeah he definitely has a death wish.

Alpha Prescott’s eyes widened as he glanced between me and his son.

“Why..why don’t you come inside, we can show you around the pack house.” The Luna stuttered out, swallowing hard as she yanked her son’s arm, forcing him to turn and walk into the house.

‘This is how Malcolm is, he wants to get a rise out of you.’

Eleanor linked, and I didn’t like that one f*****g bit..how does she know how he is and the fact that she said his damn name..I had a horrible sinking feeling that there is more to this guy than I realized. He better of never touched my mate or I will break every damn finger on his hand.

“Come on, let’s go.” Eleanor smiled encouragingly, she doesn’t seem bothered by the guy..if she showed fear then that would have been a sign, but honestly, she seems unfazed by him. I guess we will see how it goes.

We walked hand in hand into the pack house and Eleanor looked around slowly. Her eyes absorbing everything in sight as we followed the Alpha further into the house.

“This is the main house, we have a few omega living here but have let those who are older and have found their mates move into the housing district.” Alpha Prescott informed us.

“You are letting the omega find their mate’s now?” Eleanor asked, her eyes boring into the Alpha’s as he nodded his head.

“Yes my Queen, I know in the past the previous Alpha limited the omegas socialization. But we have started opening opportunities for our omegas to travel to other packs to find their mates. And those who wanted to choose their own mates, they no longer need to be approved.” He informed Eleanor and she nodded her head, deep in thought.

“The omegas that live in the houses, where do they reside?” She quickly retorted, apparently, I’m not even needed here..Eleanor seems to have it all covered.

“We have remodeled half of the guest rooms and even the basement to be more suitable for living now. But if they wish to move out of the pack house we support their decision..it is more for their convenience that we offer them residence here.” The Alpha answered and I have to admit, he was more prepared than I thought.

“And the former Luna and Alpha’s son? Where do they reside?” Eleanor asked as we were being led into a sitting area.

The Alpha looked at my mate, I swear I saw a glint of excitement in his eyes before he spoke.

“The former Luna has gone back to her previous pack along with her son..we offered her residence in the omega section of the housing, considering their titles were stripped..but she refused.” He shrugged and suddenly a woman walked in carrying a tray with glasses on it where she promptly dropped them straight to the floor, causing everyone’s eyes to shoot to her.

The woman had red hair and seemed a little older than Eleanor. The way she stared at Eleanor I knew without a doubt she knew her.

Suddenly Eleanor stood up, going to help the woman to pick up the broken glass.

“Darling, please, let someone bring a broom to clean it up..I don’t want you to cut yourself.” I quickly stood next to her, her eyes darting from me to the girl as she nodded her head softly.

I helped Eleanor walk back towards her chair as she glanced towards the woman once more. We sat back down and the air was filled with thick silence when the Beta’s son chuckled under his breath.

“I see our little Eleanor still knows her place.” I heard the a*****e mumble under his breath and that’s when I f*****g snapped.

I lunged across the room, my hand gripping his throat as my claws began to extend. Malcolm’s eyes widened with shock as I squeezed even tighter. Lifting him off the ground and slamming him into the wall behind us.

“How dare you speak about my mate like that..how dare you even utter her f*****g name.” I spat, my canines protruding out as the prick sputtered beneath me.

“Your..mate..don’t you know I own her?” He smirked wildly and I felt like I was losing my damn mind. Did he really just say that? Does this guy not know he is mere inches from death?!

A loud snarl left me, making the prick wince as I reached down, gripping his hand and snapped it, causing his wrist to break instantly.

The kid screamed out, his legs trying to kick me off of him. I won’t lie, this guy was pretty big for being born with beta b***d but he was no match for me. I towered over him and he practically weighed nothing at all.

“Elder Paul was right, you are nothing but a monster..it’s only time before Eleanor realizes that too.” Malcolm sputtered and that’s when I grabbed his other arm, breaking it with one quick jerk, and slammed his head into the wall, letting him fall to the ground as he slumped forward. He wasn’t dead, but the fact that he mentioned my uncle tells me he was once in contact with or still is with him. From what I could tell this kid was closer to Richards than his own father was, so it’s not surprising.

“I suggest you get a handle on your son before he ruins this for you.” I said between gritted teeth, looking towards Alpha Prescott as he glanced between me and his son nervously.

“Guards, take him to the infirmary.” He quickly ordered and two men came to take him away.

The Luna sat there sobbing, shaking her head as she looked at her son.

“Where did we go wrong.” She sobbed, hiding her face in her mate’s side.

I felt Eleanor’s hand slide onto my arms, her touch gentle and comforting as she looked up at me.

‘Are you okay?’

She linked softly and I nodded my head, my hands cupping her cheek as I kissed her gently.

No one disrespects Eleanor and I hope I made that very clear today..looks like my uncle still has a hold on people..that is what I feared but not for long..soon enough he will get what he deserves and I can’t wait for that f*****g day.

‘I will never let anyone disrespect you like that.’

I linked, looking into her eyes as the words the prick spoke echoed through my mind. I looked for that fear, for any indication that I scared her but all I saw was the love and affection my mate had for me..that’s all I ever saw..he was wrong, I am not a monster, and this woman, she is the one proving that every single day..how could a woman like this love a monster? How could someone so pure and kind love a beast..that’s how I know I am not what they say because Eleanor sees the good in me..she sees all of me..

I’m ready to get this visit out of the way and go the hell home with my Queen..I’m ready to start planning our future and get ready for our pup..but most of all I’m ready to handle this Elder Paul thing and take care of him once and for all..he will never interfere with my life again..I will make damn sure of that.
