Gamma Kailen Steele

Walking down the stairs to meet Hunter, I felt beautiful in my emerald green dress. It hugged my curves perfectly and gave the illusion that my breasts were much larger than they were. Or maybe it was being pregnant.

I smiled at Hunter, ignoring everyone else as he turned around to look at me. This god of a man was my mate, future husband, and father to our unborn pups. I felt so thankful as he made his way over to me and, taking my hand, he spun me into him. Claiming me in front of all these alphas, I was on cloud nine because of how wonderful today is. I was his, and he wanted the entire kingdom to know.

Before the room filled up with smoke, I heard Greyson call out to Hunter. I didn't have a chance to call out to Hunter when hands grabbed me. I was thrown over someone's shoulder. Unable to see anything, but it felt like I was moving upstairs. "Stop." I commanded. And the person instantly stopped.

"Miss Steele, we need to get you out of here." Mr. Carter whispered to me. He was standing behind the person carrying me.

"What?" I gasped out.

"Command him to move and I'll explain everything once we get you somewhere safe." Mr. Carter said. Trusting my students, I told the person to walk, and we started moving again until we were back on the alpha floor. Looking behind me, I'm pretty sure it was Eli that was carrying me. Both the future alpha's betas were with us as Eli carried me to my room, locking the door behind us. The warriors were no longer at the door.

Eli finally put me down, and I felt like I was going to throw up and then I was confused about what was going on. Where did the smoke come from? And why were my students helping me get out of there?

Eli helped me to sit on the edge of the bed while Mr. Carter passed me a glass of water. Thanking him, I took a sip. I looked around at the four of them.

"One of you had better start explaining, and where is Hunter?" I demanded.

"I overheard my father planning on taking the crown from Prince Hunter," Eli said, and I gasped. I knew Hunter was still alive, but I feared for how long. "Why?" Is all I go stutter out.

"He knows about you, and he wants you," Eli answered. I closed my eyes and willed myself not to break down. If he knows I'm pregnant already with Hunter's pups, he will kill them. "Miss Steele, please don't cry. We are here to help." Eli said, trying to comfort me.

"And how are you going to help? What was happening in the ballroom?" I gasped out.

"We know you are pregnant. They were injecting everyone with wolfsbane. It would have killed them. We had to get you out of there to come up with a plan." Mr. Carter said.

"Hunter!" I yelled through our link, but I couldn't reach him.

"I can't reach Hunter." I gasped out, feeling like I was having a panic attack. My breathing was shallow and I could feel my lungs contracting.

"Miss Steele, we need you to calm down." Mr. Carter said.

"Damion, that isn't helping." Eli scolded Mr. Carter.

I couldn't think straight as I thought of the possibilities of what they could do to Hunter. And everyone. My mind was racing with too many questions for my mouth to ask. My stomach was in knots over anything happening to my mate. Today was supposed to be a good day and I can't lose him.

"Kailen, breathe and take control. We can do this." Aurora said.

"What if I can't and something happens to him? What if they get me and they kill our babies? What if?" And then I realized.

They were testing that drug to see if they could control the side effects. f**k. It was a test. They didn't want to get the girls pregnant. It was to see how much of the drug they needed to get pregnant without being crazed.

"Your father wants me to have his child?" I asked Eli, and he nodded.

"Miss Steele, I apologize for all of this. I know what my father is doing isn't right. I know he's into illegal s**t, but this, you can't own another human being." Eli growled out.

"Mr. Carter, do you know what your father had over Prince Andrew?" I asked him, and his eyes got misty.

"When Eli called me yesterday to look into my father's finances after learning about the takeover, I did some digging. Prince Andrew was into some nasty s**t and my father had proof." He answered.

"How bad?" I asked him and he looked away.

"He was a sick monster," he said.

"Children?" I asked him, taking his hand. He looked at me and nodded. I thought I was going to throw up. Not only was Jake a monster, but his father was as well.

"Mr. Cooper, how do we get back into the ballroom?" I asked him.

"And where are all our warriors?"

"Dark Shadow, Raging River, Blood Moon, Sapphire Lake and Fire Forest all sent warriors. They were hiding close by to take down the army that you had here. And I'm not sure what the safest way to get back into the ballroom is," he said. "I don't need the safest. I need to get my mate out safely," I told him.

"Miss Steele, you can't shift." Mr. Evans, Eli's beta, said.

"No, but I can command. Now sit, all of you." I commanded, and they instantly dropped to the floor on their asses. Eli was still sitting beside me.

Breathing out, I released the command, and they could breathe again. I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but I knew it was something stupid. I had little to work with and I couldn't shift, but I knew they wanted me alive. So, that's the angle I was going to play. "Mr. Cooper, unzip this dress." I told him, turning my back to him.

"What's the plan?" He asked, unzipping this dress.

"I'm going to change into something I can move in. And then I need a knife and a gun if you can find one. I'm going to use myself as bait." I told them before standing up. As I made my way to the closet to change, I held my dress to my chest.

Five alphas were going to die today for their disloyalty and taking my mate. And I swear to the moon goddess that if they hurt him, I will command them all to kill themselves.

In the closet, I let my dress fall to the floor before I pulled out a pair of leggings. Pulling them on, I reached for a bra before putting it on and fixing my breasts. They were spilling over the top of the cups.

I caressed my lower belly as I willed myself not to break down. I have to do this. And if I wasn't pregnant, this would be so much easier to do.

"I'll keep our pups safe. You get our mate," Aurora said.

"I'm scared." I told Aurora.

"Don't be. Be the badass Luna and princess that I know you are. Command the bastards until they explode under the pressure of your aura." She growled out.

Taking a deep breath, I grabbed a long sleeve shirt, pulling it over my head. I walked back into the room to find my four students waiting for me. They all looked like they were lost in a hushed conversation. "What now?" I asked them.

"With all due respect, gamma, we can't let you be bait. You are pregnant with the future heir to the throne and if anything was to happen to you and to them, it would devastate the kingdom." Eli said.

"I understand your worry, but my mate, friends and family are in that room and I'm going to protect them. They want me and, with no wolfsbane in my system, I can command them. It will catch them off guard. They want me and they are going to get me, just not in the way they expected." I told them.

"Besides, who's going to teach you fuckers next semester?" I chuckled. And the four of them gave me a smile.

"Okay, what's the plan?" Damion asked me.

"After I'm in the ballroom, I need you four to release our warriors and get them to the ballroom. We are going to need everyone. I'm not sure how long my command will hold or how many it will hold, so I need you four to work fast." I told them and they all nodded. "Were there guards at the door that we exited from?" I asked them.

"Not yet, but I'm sure they are there now. We tried to be as quick as possible." Eli said.

"Okay, so the plan is I will command them to stand down and you will knock them out. If they have weapons, take them. And move to get our warriors." I told them.

"And what are you going to do?" Eli asked me. Using his first name to address him, I had to tell Eli the truth.

"Eli, after this you will be the alpha of your pack. I'm sorry, but I can not spare your father." I told him. His eyes got misty before he nodded.

"I understand," he breathed out.

"I wish there was another way, but there isn't. Now follow me." I told them, moving to the door.

I opened the door quietly and looked out down the hallway before moving out of the room.

Eli and Damien moved in front of me. And their betas were walking behind as we made our way to the top of the staircase entrance to the ballroom. Eli peeked around the corner and held up two fingers, showing there were two warriors. Moving around them, I walked towards the warriors that were guarding the doors.

"Well, who do we have here?" One smirked. As I watched them.

"The prince got one thing right." The other one said. Watching them, they both had a handgun and a few other weapons. What the hell was the plan here?

"I think we should take our reward for finding the lost princess." The first one said, and I smirked.

"On your fucken knees." I growled out with so much force that they both dropped.

"What the f**k?" One growled out when my students walked up behind me.

Eli and Damien took the handguns from the warriors before hitting them with the b**t end of the gun. Both were out instantly.

"Pass me a gun." And Eli passed me his. I slid it into the back of my leggings. I was still holding the knife, since I was sure I was going to immediately need it.

"Now, go get the others." I told them.

"But," Eli tried to protest.

"I've been training for this for the last four years. I'll be okay." I told him.

They all hesitated before they took off to release the warriors that we had brought with us. Taking a deep breath to calm my nerves, I opened the door slowly, peeking through. Not seeing anyone, I made my way down the hallway, praying that Hunter was okay. I knew he was alive, but I didn't know the condition I would find him in.

The closer I walked to the top of the stairs, the more nervous I became. Looking around all the corners and sneaking my way to where I could see the people below in the ballroom.

"So, where is your pretty mate hiding?" I heard Alpha Ivan ask Hunter.

"I will never tell you." Hunter growled out, and I could hear him fighting with cuffs.

"Is she worth your entire pack? Surely, she isn't. Even carrying your pup. You would sacrifice your entire pack for one b***h?" Alpha Ivan taunted Hunter.

Moving to the stairs, Aurora let out a thunderous growl, bringing the attention of everyone in the room to us. We were standing at the top of the stairs. Hunter's eyes widened in horror as he looked up at me. He was on his knees in front of Alpha Ivan, his hands cuffed behind his back.

"Princess Kailen, it's so good of you to finally join us," Alpha Ivan said with a smirk.

"Kailen, run." Hunter yelled as I moved down the stairs.

"Let my mate go!"
