The Lycan Series
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 59

Violet's

POV

My heart was beating fast like I was the culprit caught. Now that the Widow had escaped, there was only one question in my head. What was going to happen to my parents? Or even me?

"Seal the entire area! She couldn't have gotten far!" Axel roared orders around me but my ears could only register the racing of my heart. Axel continued screaming orders and I watched him run down the corridor along with the guards to probably handle the search on his own. Yet my body remained rooted in front of the Widow's opened door, unable to pull myself away.

"Damn it!" Emily cursed over and over as she stared at the empty room with me.

"We should have been here fucking sooner." She hissed. Her hands went to her waist and her eyes were narrowed as she glared at the room.

Then as if she had seen something she dropped her hands from her waist and started heading into the room. "Come, Violet, let's search this place. She might have dropped something," she mumbled as she walked into the room as if she was being drawn by a force. On my end, I knew the widow was smart, she wouldn't drop anything except it was supposed to mislead us.

Nevertheless, I went in after Emily. I walked to the little bed at the corner and from the wrinkles on it, I could tell that she had left in a hurry.

It wasn't long before we told Axel, how could she have gotten the information.

My eyes then went to Emily.

The widow had to have gotten the information the same way Emily did.

"Did you say the guard at the dungeon informed you about this?" I suddenly blurted.

"Hmm? Oh, fuck yes, why?" Emily replied from the ground where she knelt trying to see underneath the bed.

I nodded my head as I analysed the situation again. The widow had given the guard a lot of money to cooperate. But he probably feared that Emily might find out that I had gotten to the dungeon somehow and then he would be in trouble.

So he reported to Emily but he also reported to the widow. This way, he was able to get away with the money and the crime.

"I think he played you both," I said.

Emily stopped what she was doing and raised her head to look at me. "What the fuck? He can't play me. He is very fucking loyal."

I shook my head and walked closer to where she was; "Did he tell you of the money the widow gave him to let us through? Or about the guards she bribed to be able to leave her cell and get down there?"

Emily's face contorted into a frown and she swiped her tongue over her lips.

"She did?"

I let out a deep sigh and nodded once again. "Yes, she did. And I think right now, we should find him and question him. He might have also helped her escape."

Emily got off the floor and let her fingers move through her hair; "fuck. He wouldn't be here. Except he is fucking stupid and so far, he isn't stupid."

She started moving out of the room but as something was whispered to her, she stopped midway and her head turned to the wall.

"The fuck?" She whispered in shock as she started approaching the wall where the widow had scribbled that name -Avalyn.

"Do you know-" Emily started but paused. "Get me, Greg, in here. Right now."

"What's going on? Do you know who bears that name? I have asked her if it's her name but she denied it," I blurted out and Emily shook her head like someone that was in a trance.

"Just fucking get Greg," she whispered harshly as her hands went to her mouth.

I could see that she was visibly shocked about the writings. I wanted to probe her more but I knew she wouldn't spill until she got what she wanted.

"Okay," I retorted and ran out of the room.

I made my way to the other wing of the mansion. This time I didn't have to bother about the guards or maids staring at me because everyone was now preoccupied with searching for the widow.

As I got to Greg's door, I didn't bother knocking before I pushed it open and invited myself in.

He was already on his feet obviously heading out but as soon as he saw me, he stopped.

"Sorry to barge in on you Beta Greg but Emily wants you in the Widow's cell now," I said as quickly as I could.

His wise eyes twitched and then without questions, he walked past me and started heading to the cell.

I followed behind him, my hands suddenly feeling sweaty as the situation seemed to become even more tense.

Now that I thought about it, I realised I had heard them mention that same name before. They knew who this Avalyn was and from the way Emily got worked up, I could tell she was a very important member of their pack.

But the questions remained unanswered in my head. Was the widow this Avalyn? If she wasn't, why did she scribble her name on her cell wall like a deranged woman?

As we got closer to the cell, the inquisitive part of me was eager to find out all of these questions and more.

"Emily, what did you find? Axel told me the widow has escaped. I have also asked the guards to go after Savannah and Thalia," Greg said as soon as we got to the room where Emily was still standing beside the wall with her arm crossed and her fingers in her mouth with the other hand.

"We need to make sure that they don't-" Greg stopped midway as he saw the dead look of shock on her face. "What did you find?"

Emily sniffled and that was when I realised that she had tears in her eyes. She then pointed to the wall and Greg moved his eyes to it.

The room went silent at once and even Greg froze as he saw the writings on the wall.

Seconds seemed to pass faster and my curiosity was almost getting the better of me as I impatiently waited for them to start speaking.

"Do you think she might be Willow?" Emily asked in a low voice without cursing-this had to be even more serious than I thought.

Greg turned his eyes to look at her and then moved closer to the wall. His fingers moved over the writings slowly.

"This wasn't here before... And it's more like an obsession for something... And we both know who can be this obsessed with Avalyn... But we can't be too sure..."

My eyes narrowed at their conversation. It surprised me that none of them thought it could have been this Avalyn herself after all.

But as soon as that idea came to my mind, I got reminded of the words The Widow had said when I suggested if she was this Avalyn.

She had wished that the goddess would cast her dead if she bore such a name.

"We need to fucking find her. If she is Willow then I want to fucking end her life myself," Emily hissed as she dropped her hands to her side and glared at Greg. "Axel is already on the search. We will find her..." Greg replied.

At this point, I just couldn't stop myself anymore.

"Who is Willow and who is this Avalyn? What's going on?" I blurted out.

Emily snapped her head to me and the emotions made my lungs squeeze in fear.

Her eyes darkened and I watched her hands fold into fists by her side before she hissed and left the room.

"I am going to find the fucking accomplices," she gritted as she disappeared from our line of sight.

Greg let out a deep sigh as he finally stepped away from the wall and came to where I stood.

"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to upset anyone... I am just confused here..." I said in a small remorseful voice.

Greg placed his arm around my shoulder and patted me gently. "Do not worry, this isn't your fault. The situation just digs through a lot of emotions," he said in his usual gentle tone.

He motioned to the door; "Come on, let's go. I will explain on the way."

I nodded and started walking along with him till we got out of the room. Greg instructed the few guards still waiting to shut down the place before he turned to me and began to narrate the history I desperately needed to hear. "Avalyn is Axel's mother. Willow was his father's first mate or wife as your kind calls it," he said and a frown sat on my face.

"I don't understand, Axel's father had two wives? But our history said he only had one human wife?" I asked him.

He turned to look at me with a small smile on his face and then nodded. "You are right but before Avalyn became Talon's only legal mate, Willow was the ruling Luna... And now we suspect that she is the Widow."
