Maximus POV.

I watched as Kael charged towards me, his sword raised high in the air. I tightened my grip on my own sword, ready to defend myself and my companions, Kael was a dangerous man, known for his brutality and lack of mercy. He was a fearsome bounty hunter. Just as Kael was about to strike, someone appeared out of nowhere and beheaded him. I was momentarily stunned, trying to process what had just happened. The figure removed his mask, revealing a woman with red hair and iron eyes. It was Celine, my ex- girlfriend who had betrayed and hurt me deeply in the past. "How we meet again, my dear," she said, her tone cold and calculated.

"Celine," I whispered, shocked to see her.

I couldn't believe that she had saved us from Kael's attack. It was even harder to comprehend why she would help us after everything she had done to me. Felicity looked just as confused as I felt.

Celine smirked at us, crossing her arms and exuding confidence. "Celine in the flesh, my dear! Surprised to see me?" she said, scanning our faces. "I'd say I'm surprised to see you too, but to be honest, I anticipated this meeting."

I didn't know what to make of her words. How could she have known that we would be targeted by Kael? And why would she choose to help us? I approached her slowly, my eyes never leaving her face. "What are you?" I asked. "Some sort of vigilante?" Celine scoffed. "I prefer the term 'bounty hunter," she said. "I don't have any particular attachment to you, Maximus. But I do have a problem with Kael. He's causing chaos and destruction all over the city, and I can't have that."

I didn't trust her, not after what she had done to me in the past. "Why should we trust you?" I asked, my voice cold.

Celine's smirk grew wider. "You shouldn't," she said. "Because like I said, I'm a bounty hunter and your heads are priced which means..."

I knew what she was implying. She was offering to spare our lives in exchange for a reward. I had to weigh my options carefully. Could I trust Celine to keep her word? Or was this just a ploy to get what she wanted?

I looked at my companions, who were all giving me a worried look. I knew what they wanted me to do but I couldn't afford to make a mistake.

After a moment of contemplation, I decided to take a chance. "What's the price on our heads? I mean the price you want, not the price that's on the poster. " I asked, trying to sound calm and in control.

Celine grinned, obviously pleased that I was at least considering her offer. "700 millions moonstone coins," she said, almost gleeful.

I did some quick mental calculations. 700 millions moonstone coins wasn't a small amount, but it wasn't exactly a fortune either. In my kingdom I had some savings that could help cover the cost, and we certainly didn't want to die today. "All right," I said finally, turning to my companions and nodding my head in agreement. "We'll pay."

Celine raised an eyebrow in surprise, but didn't show any other emotions. She simply gestured for us to follow her.

We walked to the landing pad together, each step feeling heavy and uncertain. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, that I was making a huge mistake.

But as we approached Celine's ship and I saw the glint of her blaster, I knew that we had no other choice. We were at her mercy, and we could only hope that she would honor her end of the deal.

As we boarded her ship, I couldn't help but wonder if we had just sold our souls to the devil.

"Once in the ship, Celine snapped her fingers, and several men came out of different rooms and surrounded us," I observed, perplexed.

Celine laughed cruelly at my bewilderment. "Did you really believe me when I said I wanted to spare you? That I wouldn't do it for anything in the world?" she scoffed. "I am not stupid, my dear. You see, the person who wanted your heads for a price has put about 1 billion moonstone coins on it. And since you cannot afford that, I am afraid you have been fooled like a beginner."

I turned to Felicity, who was holding our baby in her arms. Her face was a mask of terror and confusion. "What's going on?" she whispered.

But before I could reply, Celine ordered her guards to lock up all our other companions and leave only the three of us. Our friends tried to protest, but they were eluded, and soon we were alone with Celine and her men.

"Now, before we proceed, I would like to make something clear," Celine said, her voice dripping with venom. "You will do exactly as I say, or I will have no problem delivering you to the person who wants your head. Understood?" I nodded, gritting my teeth. "Fine. What do you want from us?"

Celine smiled wickedly. "Oh, nothing much. Just a little insurance, in case things go south. You see, I cannot trust you to keep your end of the deal, so I'm going to make sure you cannot escape or transform into your wolf form." She ordered her men to tie my arms and put a collar on me, which would prevent me from shifting. I struggled against my bonds, but they were too tight. The collar chafed against my skin, making me wince in pain. Felicity tried to intervene, but Celine brushed her aside with a wave of her hand. "Don't worry, my dear. I'm not going to hurt you or your baby. As long as your husband behaves himself, everything will be fine." I glared at her, seething with rage. "You're making a huge mistake, Celine. If you think you can control me, you're dead wrong."

Celine chuckled, unfazed by my threat. "We'll see about that, won't we?" she said.

I start to, struggle against them.

"Stop resisting or we will have to hit you," one of the guards threatened.

"Felicity!" I called out to her, who was being held back by two men.

Our baby lay on a nearby couch, defenseless and vulnerable.

"Enough!" Celine commanded as they hit me repeatedly in the stomach.

She walked over to me, lifted my chin, and kissed me forcefully. I shuddered in disgust and tried to push her away.

Shee disgusted me, I wondered what I had loved about her one day, she was a heartless monster.

She stopped kissing me, then smiled at me,"do you like that?" Celine sneered.

I spat on the ground in response, earning myself a hard slap across the face.

"Let my wife and friends go. This is between you and me," I demanded.

Celine laughed. "Oh, but it does concern them. They'll learn soon enough."

"I beg of you, please just let Felicity and the others go," I pleaded with my ex-fiancé.

"Why would I do that?" she sneered. "Our heads are worth a f*****g fortune. I'll never have to work again in my life, including my tenth offspring."

"This doesn't concern them," I argued. "Just let them go and stay with me."

"No way," she refused. "You're all in this together. And you're all mine."

"You're being selfish," I accused her.

She started yelling at me crying, the manipulator. "Selfish? Me? I sacrificed everything for you! I loved you with all my heart, and you thanked me by canceling our marriage and driving me out of your palace!" "You slept with my best friend and manipulated me," I pointed out.

Suddenly, she stopped crying. "You're right," she said with a sneaky grin. "But don't forget, I can be very bipolar. Don't push me too far."

"I can't believe you did this all to me, Celine," I said, hurt and angry.

Celine just laughed. "It's your fault, really. You're so easy to manipulate."

"What? No, it's not my fault that you betrayed me like this!"

Celine's eyes narrowed. "You're just an idiot. And even your father - he was never meant to be the lycan king. It should have been my father instead."

"What? That's not true. Our fathers were best friends. And my father was a great leader."

Celine scoffed. "Your father was an impostor. Mine was the rightful king."

"You're insane," I said, growing more and more alarmed.

Celine turned to Felicity and yanked her by the hair. Felicity cried out in pain and I begged Celine to stop.

"She's no match for me," Celine sneered. "Just like you were no match for me when we slept together."

"Felicity is a thousand times better than you," I spat.

Celine's men kicked me in the stomach, but I refused to be silenced.

Celine came closer to me and squatted down to my level.

"What do you want?" I asked Celine, trying to keep my voice steady.

"I want to make a proposal," she replied coolly.

I raised an eyebrow, wondering where this was going.

"If you agree to do a few things for me, I'll release Felicity," she continued.

"What things?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.

Then, Celine made a proposal that left me absolutely stunned. She was like a completely different person - a psychopath.

"You have to sleep with me in front of Felicity," Celine stated.
