Chapter 371 You Saved Her
You better give me a good reason not to smack you right now, Finley said, exasperation edging his voice. "This was a dangerous situation, Sam. Even the forensic science students refused to come, and yet here you are, volunteering to risk your life. Did you even think about me? Did it ever cross your mind what I'd do if something happened to you?"
Samantha blinked up at him, her lower lip trembling slightly as she pouted, "I didn't know it would be this dangerous. If I'd known, I wouldn't have come"
"Hmmph... Now I'm scared out of my mind, and you're still being mean to me" she huffed,
"Finley, I think you don't love me anymore!"
Finley stared at her, dumbfounded. She's the one who puherself in harm's way, and now she's accusing me of not loving hert
He let out a sigh, noticing the dried blood on her forehead. His tone softened, "What happened to your head?"
"I got hit by that killer. It hurts like hell..."
A flash of fury crossed Finley's eyes. "I should've killed him when I had the chance, Sc*m like that doesn't deserve to live."
He gently blew on her forehead, trying to case her pain "Does it hurt a lot?"
Samantha nodded vigorously, "Yes, it hurts."
"It hurts so much."
Her voice was soft and fragile, making her seem even more helpless. Finley's heart ached as he carefully lifted her off the ground. "I'm taking you to the hospital "Are we walking?" she asked, blinking up at him.
"I'll carry you."
She shook her head. "No, I don't want that."
"Why not?" he asked, genuinely confused.
Samantha snuggled against him. "It's so far. I don't want you to get tired."
Finley chuckled softly, his arms tightening around her. "You're not heavy at all, Sam. There's no way I'll get tired of carrying you. Now, let's get you to the hospital, okay?"
Samantha kept shaking her head, pulling away from Finley's arms. But the moment she stepped back, her legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground. It was dark, and she hadn't noticed Finley's injured arm at first. But when she stumbled out of his embrace, the faint moonlight illuminated the blood still dripping
from his wound.
She scrambled back to him. Ignoring her own pain, she reached out and pulled Finley closer. "What

Rage boiled within her. She lifted Finley's sleeve and noticed a long, deep gash on his arm. She felt like her heart was breaking from the pain.
"I'm going to kill him," she declared, trying to stand, but her body betrayed her.
She collapsed again, the throbbing pain in the back of her head making it impossible to move. Finley quickly scooped her up into his arms again, holding her tightly. "Sam, don't worry about me. I'm fine," he reassured her. "But your arm... it's still bleeding," she protested, her voice trembling with concern.
Without hesitation, Samantha tore a piece of fabric from her own clothes, wrapping it around his wound to stop the bleeding.
Once she had secured it, she quickly grabbed her phone from the ground and called for an ambulance. As they waited, huddled together, Samantha looked up at him. "How did you even find me?"
"Call it... a gut feeling."
Samantha rolled her eyes. "Be serious."
"Alright, fine. I saw your bag hidden nearby. The police told me it was yours, but you weren't around. Something felt off, so I checked the cave. I stepped on a pile of dry grass, and next thing I knew, I fell through a hidden hole."
He paused for a moment, his expression darkening as he continued. "When I got down there, I saw a man about to chop a woman's legs off with a knife. I couldn't see her face, so I thought it was you. I fought him off and saved her."
