Chapter 71 - Intervention

Bastet was groaning in pain. As she looked up, Set was nowhere to be found. He's gone and he took Isis, Amum, Thoth, and Hathor with him. Slowly Bastet picked herself up from the floor as she began calling out for Isis and the other three gods that came with her. She then realized Set had taken them with him as none of them answered. "No this can't be," she muttered in total disappointment.

She rushed outside Isis' palace and the entire place looks deserted. There used to be guards on watch but there seems to be no one left but her. At this time it began to make sense to her what Set had said to her before he kicked her. She then realized that Set have taken everyone hostage and left her behind to tell the story to Horus.

As she turned to run back into the palace, Horus flew in with Nephthys and stood in front of her. "What happened here?"

Bastet feared Horus since he became the king of the gods. She slowly puts her head down and spoke in a quivering voice. "Set took your mother and some other gods who came with me to report to your mother the havoc Set is causing in Egypt."

Horus walks closer to Bastet and with his eyes fixed on her she asked sternly. "When did this happen?"

"A moment ago."

Nephthys approaches Horus. She has known Set even before Horus was born. She was the sister of Isis and she could easily tell the tricks of Set without thinking twice. "I know where he must have taken them. We just need to get there before he starts killing them one after another."

Kingdom of Maxis Queen Eve of Uzex heard the proposal of King Afa's unity call for the five kingdoms to unite together and fight the common enemies who are getting ready to wipe the five kingdoms away; he insisted on coming to meet the king in person. Not that she cared about the other kingdoms but to compel the king to release Adrian to her as her husband.

While King Afa was gone, his mother, Queen Afi gave Queen Eve of Uzex passage to come to Maxis. She came and threatened Adrian with marriage and promised to return after a month to take him as her husband.

It was a difficult moment for Adrian's wife to hear her husband got the queen of Uzex pregnant and must marry her by all means. She doesn't want to lose her husband to anyone. Not even to the queen of Uzex. Adrian's wife secretly visited King Afa after his banquet was trashed by the canine-looking creature and pleaded with him to protect her marriage from the Queen of Uzex. Adrian was never aware of this.

Now that King Afa is well and alive, Queen Eve sought audience with him. King Afa thought she has come for the pressing matters but she only came for him to honorably or dishonorably discharge Adrian from his royal duties in Maxis and then hand him over to her as her husband.

After gazing at the queen of Uzex in a weird manner, the king finally opens his mouth to speak. "I can't force a man into marriage. Your blessing of having humping is pregnant. You two agreed two as matured noble and queen to hump each other. Why bring the report of your humping life with my noble to me? Was I there when you two enjoyed and humped each other? We should be talking about getting united as kingdoms to fight the threat that is fast approaching." Queen Eve was enraged with the king's reply as she stood up in anger. Glaring at the king she said, "If you fail to release Adrian to me, I will leave. But one thing is certain; my friendship with Maxis goes with me once I ride through Maxis' gate."
