The Princess’s Broken Alpha -
Chapter 48
They both sat in the car for a while quietly watching the brightly lit airport before them with cars pulling in and out not to mention the large crowd of people rushing to catch their flights. Of course there were large streams of people coming in to probably visit their families. Kiarra felt like the car was closing in on her, she wanted nothing to with him much less sitting in a closed space with him whether it be minutes or just a few hours. "In the mean time I guess I should fill you in on what's going on with the hybrids and I don't know maybe some other things." he glanced at her hopefully. The other things were about them mating.
Castor got nothing more than a shiver as a response though it wasn't cold inside the car that had the heat blasting through the vents. The silence stretched between them and he blew out a breath. She was definitely playing hardball. She was being cold and distant towards him and he didn't care that he had made their relationship worse, just that he got her and would get what he wanted. She would come around eventually. He tapped the steering wheel in a steady rhythm while watching her soft features. Moon goddess she was beautiful.
"I've missed you and I was worried shitless about you Ki. You know that right?"
She didn't answer and he sighed deeply.
"You could have at least called and let me know you were okay. You know how much I care about you and it would have been a nice gesture as friends seeing as you practically vanished. Is this what we've come to Ki?"
Her burning hazel eyes looked at him furiously and he swallowed. Kiarra hated that he was using a nickname he had given her to draw her back into old familiarity with him.
"You're just going to keep pushing me to the side.Wow." the frustration was heavy in his voice before he laughed dryly turning around to her fully.
"I hope you know when we're together if you ever think of disrespecting me like this there will be hell to pay." his voice became harsh and his blue eyes were ice cold meeting hers. Kiarra took a short breath between her lips unfazed by his words and taking in his intimidating gaze.
"Your true colors are finally showing Castor." she breathed out quietly" Being my father's favorite has given you too much leverage and I am going to fix that."
"Is that so?" He snapped at her and he could feel his anger rising.
Their eyes met and the air was thick with tension. Kiarra would never leave one abuser for another.
"You wouldn't give me a chance but you gave him?" his undertone was heavy. "You chose the alpha in the wheelchair over me with two proper fucking functioning legs?!" He slammed hard on the steering wheel and she was surprised it didn't break.
"Is that what hurts Castor?" she replied mockingly, her ice-cold eyes looking at him like he was a cockroach. "You have two legs and you still didn't stand a chance.Your little ego is bruised?"
His jaw flexed from anger and his blue eyes started burning bright, flickering every now and then with the orange glow of his wolf. He needed to calm down.
He looked like he was ready to lunge at her and she braced herself against the door feeling her heart thumping. He wouldn't would he? Castor then eased back against the seat with what seemed a second thought but she was still watching him closely. After a while of watching his chest rise and fall rapidly to a steady pace her voice broke the silence.
"You might be my father's favourite but I'm still his daughter and we're no longer friends Castor. So whatever you say next take it into consideration." she spat at him.
"That's all good and well Ki" he countered smugly leaning his hand along the headrest of her seat caging her in "but just remember before you do anything that your beloved alpha is in a wheelchair and I know where his pack is."
He got out of the car violently slamming the door. Kiarra wanted to set him straight for his threat but the truth was she was scared for Zion and it was all her fault. She started to rethink deeply. Maybe she would have to sacrifice herself for him just to make sure he was okay?
The plane ride was not only uncomfortable but felt like an eternity and she dreaded what was waiting for her. It was very different from her plane ride over where she was filled with the hope of finding him. Castor was only too proud to be the one returning with her. He would definitely get points for this and hopefully some favour from the king to entrust his daughter in his care as his future son in law.
England looked different to Kiarra.lt felt empty, it didn't feel like home as it once was despite her situation. Her home was now a person who was a thousand miles away. The moment she walked through the grand high gates welded to perfection she felt like she would never leave again. It was freezing and she noticed the Christmas decorations were out making the palace dazzle more than it already did on its own. Her aunt did a good job. She needed to settle in and find Vivienne right away then of course talk to her father. Her aunt would no doubt gloat on her return.
The guards all hurried to let her in as she walked through the familiar halls, confidence in her steps. There was no doubt that her father would have already learnt that she was back.
She headed to her wing and pushed open the doors. She would have to suffer without his large arms around her at night while he whispered seductively in her ear. Her familiar room looked abandoned. The silk sheets and everything neatly in place. The servants had done well to make sure that there wasn't a speck out of place.
