Zara sighed deeply, amazed that two exceptional men were at odds over a woman. It really was true that love could bring down even the greatest of men.

"If it's about a woman, why not compete for her fairly? Jaden, you know how exceptional you are. Why resort to such extreme measures? Zara suggested. Zara knew better than to try talking Jaden out of pursuing the woman entirely. After all their years of friendship, she understood how important this woman was to him and his mentor.

Jaden frowned, clearly annoyed. "Zara, given our relationship, how can you take Felix's side? I'm really disappointed in you!"

Zara reasoned, "Then you should know exactly what kind of person I am! You've seen Felix's medical skills. Do you really think he's as simple as he appears? Look, he's agreed to let bygones be bygones and won't cause you any trouble. Just stay calm and use your natural talents to win her over properly."

Given their sibling-like relationship, Jaden had always respected Zara. Eventually, he relented. "Fine, I know you mean well. But if Felix comes after me, don't blame me for showing no mercy."

Their similar warnings gave Zara an uneasy feeling that conflict might still be inevitable.

At sunset, Vanessa rushed into the hospital with tears in her eyes, only to find Jack and Felix laughing together in the room. She immediately ran over and punched Jack.

"Damn it! I was worried sick the whole way here, but you don't even look like you've been in an accident!"

Jack quickly hugged her apologetically. Her tears spoke volumes about her concern.

"I'll leave you two lovebirds alone," Felix said, heading for the door.

"Felix, thanks for everything. Let me walk you out!" Vanessa offered.

In the hallway, Felix remembered something. "Hey, Nessa, could you help me track down someone? She lives in Canraville and is just an ordinary citizen."

Vanessa gave him a reassuring grin. "Leave it to me-I'll get you that info ASAP!"

Just as he left the hospital, Felix received a call from Curtis asking him to come over for lunch. From his tone, Curtis seemed particularly cheerful.

Felix could not refuse Curtis, especially since their arrangement only had a month left. With that in mind, he picked up some gifts and headed to the villa, where Curtis was busy

"Felix, come in! The last dish is almost ready. Could you go to the third floor and tell Xena lunch's ready?"

"Sure," Felix replied, surprised to see Curtis cooking himself.

It had to be something really special to put Curtis in such a good mood, even more than when he had recovered. While Felix had visited the villa many times, he usually went straight to Curtis' room on the top floor. Even so, he knew where Xena's room was. Her bedroom door was open, so Felix walked right in. "Xena, Mr. Summers Senior says-
