The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection
Billionaire With Husband 344

Chapter 344

Larry took a seat and gestured to the manager, Instructing firmly, "No one enters without my permission."

Once the door closed, Felix said, "I assume you've figured things out, Mr. Laird?"

Larry nodded. "I'd be a fool not to. When I see you dining with Wendy right after Vincent's call, it's not hard to connect the dots."

His gesture with the expensive drinks was clearly an attempt to smooth things over after rejecting Vincent's request. It was obvious that Larry was a real people-pleaser.

Felix said, "Alright. Let's just get straight to the point. I need you to relocate that grave. I only need access to the back garden for a week, and after that, you can do whatever you want with it."

Larry seemed troubled. "Mr. Zeller, seeing how Wendy respects you, I know you're no ordinary person. But that grave means a lot to me, and there's a precious family heirloom buried beneath it. I simply can't agree to this."

Larry assumed Felix had somehow learned about the family heirloom and was after it. What he did not realize was that Felix was actually a reasonable person; otherwise, he would already be dead.

"Let's not dance around it and just name your terms. If I can meet them, we have a deal. If not, I'll walk away," Felix stated firmly.

Of course, walking away was not really an option since the dragon's spine fragment was too important. Besides, that thing could not be moved by ordinary means-no human or machine could budge it without rare materials, which was why Felix needed this arrangement in the first place.

Larry was about to deflect again, but something in Felix's eyes made him reconsider. After a moment's hesitation, he said carefully, "Since you put it that way, I'll make one request. If you can fulfill it, I'll relocate the grave immediately and give you a week's access to the back garden."

"Go on," Felix replied, curious about what Larry wanted. It clearly was not money or connections, especially since Vincent's current status far exceeded Larry's.

"My family's ancestry is in culinary arts. It's been my lifelong dream to honor their legacy. I've managed to secure a place in Dragonia's culinary scene, but true success is incredibly challenging. Unlike other businesses, connections alone aren't enough." Larry gestured at their nearly empty plates. "You've tasted our food, Mr. Zeller. Be honest -how was it?"

Felix nodded. "It was excellent, and I mean that sincerely."

"Exactly! I'm not just bragging the quality speaks for itself. But I can't seem to build the right reputation. The elite won't give me the time of day, and average customers won't make enough impact. I'm just missing that one crucial element." Felix's

patience was wearing thin. All this talk was starting to feel like stalling "Just tell me what you want. I'll worry about whether it's possible."

Larry's stubbornness was frustrating, but his request aimed higher than even Vincent could reach, "I was wondering if you could arrange for Lady Xena Summers, Dragonia's first goddess of war, to dine at my restaurant?"
