The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection
Billionaire With Husband 446

Chapter 446

"Ha! Remember, you only have three months. Only three months..." Madam Spring reminded.

Standing dazed in the wind, Felix looked troubled. He had already given up hope of finding a way to remove whatever strange substance he had swallowed. After all, Madam Spring was so confident. She knew Gerald. Why would she make a move that wouldn't work? Back at home, Felix thought over the situation. The only option was to take things one step at a time.

Overthinking would only waste his energy without getting any results. The real issue was that he couldn't talk to Xena directly about it. One slip of the tongue would spoil any chance he had of pursuing her.

What woman would want to be pursued by a man with ulterior motives? Or worse, the pursuit was merely to remove the toxin in his body. It would likely earn him a slap instead.

At Canraville Airport at 9:00 am the next day, Jack glanced around the plane he was in.

"Wow! So, this is what a private jet looks like. This is my first time flying on one. It's truly luxurious!"

This private jet belonged to George. Since he was also heading back to Yartford, Felix invited him to join. Felix had planned to bring George along to Madeline's engagement party anyway.

George's presence would mean solid support for Madeline, and Madeline wouldn't face any troubles in the future. This in turn would spare Felix of any future troubles.

George, overhearing Jack's comment, chuckled. "I fly often, so I'm used to it. But come alone next time, and it'll be a different experience."

Huh?

Vanessa shot George a glare. "Don't you dare use flight attendants to tempt Jack! He only loves me! Besides, with my five-times-a-week routine, do you really think he has the stamina to fool around with other women?" 232

Wow! George couldn't help but give her a thumbs-up. Vanessa's boldness was nothing short of astonishing.

Jack let out a wry smile. Only Vanessa dared to say those words.

They arrived in Yartford just after 10:00 am. As they exited the VIP gate, Lilian hurried over to greet them. Her face turned pale when she saw George, and she became visibly tense.

"Felix! George! I-I'm here to take you to the hotel."

Felix disliked this opportunistic woman, but considering she was Luke's sister and Luke was Madeline's future husband, he decided to show some courtesy.

"Let's go."

As they turned to leave, Lilian quickly pulled out her phone and sent a message, breathing a slight sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, at a grand hotel in Yartford, the Sanders family was busy welcoming guests for the engagement party.

As their only son, Luke's engagement warranted a grand celebration. Since it brought pride to the family, the atmosphere at the engagement party was subtly different.

In one corner of the banquet hall, Dylan and Sean stood talking.

Sean, you are here at the engagement party. That's not like you or the Jackman family. Are you paying this much attention to relatives now?"

Sean teased back, "You did come as well, didn't you?"

Dylan scoffed. "I'm only here because of my dad. You know how he is. He cares a lot about appearances, so he insisted on coming."

His father and Luke's father were old classmates with some history, though most of that debt had already been repaid. This time, Dylan was there solely for the sake of his father's old friend.

After a moment's hesitation, Sean added, "Normally, I wouldn't be here, either. But the bride's friend is a big deal, so I have to take it seriously."

Dylan's interest was piqued. "Who is it?"

"A guy named Felix. I almost got into trouble with him before."

Dylan frowned, and his voice rose slightly. "Who did you say?"
