Hailing a taxi, Nancy got into the back seat. She was about to scoot further in when Felix immediately took the front passenger seat, sparing her any awkwardness. Nancy quickly bowed her head, trying to hide her embarrassment.

"You're already a university lecturer at such a young age. That's impressive," Felix said, breaking the silence.

He only did that out of consideration for Vanessa. He didn't want to deal with her nagging

"It's partly luck, but I really enjoy teaching students. By the way, Vanessa mentioned you're a doctor. Which hospital are you working at?"

"I recently resigned," Felix replied.

Vanessa always made decisions on his behalf. While he was a doctor, he was not the conventional kind. How was he supposed to explain that?

After chatting for about ten minutes, Nancy seemed to be enjoying the conversation when she suddenly glanced out the window, puzzled.

"Excuse me, sir. Are you sure we're going the right way? This doesn't seem like the road to Shunnington University."

The driver looked at her through the rearview mirror and shot her a sinister smile. "No, it's not the way to Shunnington University. It's the way to the underworld."
