The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 508
Chapter 508
"M-My name is Xerxes Tate, Mr. Zeller," Xerxes said humbly. "I've been wanting to apologize to you in person for being so blind before. Don't worry. I'll definitely follow the rules to the letter when driving from now on." Seeing as his attitude was decent, Felix loosened his grip on Xerxes' shirt.
"What's going on over here, then?" he asked. "Are you trying to take my friend away?"
Swallowing, Xerxes ordered Amary to come over to them, then explained, "I was just sleeping in the car, so I don't know a thing about what's going on. But don't worry, Mr. Zeller, because I'll definitely get to the bottom of this." As soon as the words left his mouth, he slapped Amary twice without showing the slightest sign of holding back.
"Who gave you the bright idea of taking away Mr. Zeller's friend?" he demanded. "Are you courting death?"
At this point, Amary had realized that Felix's identity must be extremely terrifying, because why else would Xerxes behave in this way? That said, she had no choice but to accept the blame for this!
"My apologies, Mr. Tate. It's all my fault," she said.
Just then, Vanessa rushed over and gave her a few slaps.
"Do you still intend to take me away now?" she asked smugly.
Amary shook her hurriedly. She no longer dared do it, even if she was ten times braver than
she was now.
The Meyer family watched all this happen with their jaws hanging open. When had they ever seen people from Martial Alliance forced to apologize even when they were the ones getting beaten up? "Are you going to harass my friend again in the future?" asked Felix.
Xerxes smiled bitterly. "Of course not, Mr. Zeller! You have my word! The Meyers can take out loans and borrow books on martial arts techniques as they please-my word is law!"
Then he asked uncertainly, "So then, may I take my leave first?"
"Go ahead," Felix replied.
Of course, Felix knew exactly why Xerxes was acting this way, but he couldn't be bothered to say anything more than he had to. It was for the best that everything was resolved without him having to get involved in a major fight or resort to using his connections with Dragon Alliance.

Chapter 508
"Wait!" Felix called out suddenly.
Xerxes, who hadn't gotten far, instantly started sweating bullets at the sound of Felix's voice.
"Leave me your phone number," said Felix.
Xerxes sighed in relief, feeling his heart rate drop back down to normal. At the same time, he felt elated. Surely his father would praise him highly for making the acquaintance of such a big shot?
In truth, Felix's thought process was simple.
Martial Alliance managed a broad range of things, so making connections with them might come in useful in the future.
Xerxes evidently held a relatively high status within the Alliance, so he would at least be a far better alternative than having to invoke Dragon Alliance's name every time. "Thank you, Felix," said Vanessa.
She smacked Felix on the back. However, in the next instant, Brock was pulling her by the
ear.
"You damn brat!" he scolded. "Mr. Zeller is our family's savior. What do you think you're doing, treating him like that?"
Felix laughed at the sight of Vanessa apologizing while grimacing in pain. It really was true that everything had its weaknesses, and Vanessa's weakness appeared to be Brock.
"It's alright, Mr. Meyer," he said. "If I didn't come over, Jack would probably have torn me a new one."
Vanessa was extremely touched to hear those words. Speaking of which, it was likely that nobody would be able to usurp his position in the Meyer family from now on. It was really something else to have such a good buddy as him. Suddenly, a voice rang out.
"Why are you all standing around outside? Hurry up and tidy up the house. I actually met a good friend I hadn't seen in years while out fishing today. What a joyous occasion!"
An old man walked into the courtyard, prompting everyone to disperse even as Vanessa ran up to him.
"Grandpa!" she exclaimed. "Don't tell me you're talking about Mr. Summers, whom you often talk about?"
Vanessa's grandfather, Dalton Meyer, nodded with a smile.

"As expected of my smart granddaughter," praised Dalton. "That's right, it's Curtis! The gods are really watching over us! I didn't think we'd still have the chance to see each other again after more than 30 years." Suddenly, he grabbed Vanessa by the ear, his attitude doing a complete 180.
"Old Curtis' granddaughter is already a Warlady, but look at you! All you know to do is practice martial arts all day!"
Felix, who had been planning to excuse himself instantly stood rooted to the spot, and his eyes gradually started to brighten.
