Chapter 571

Chapter 571

Felix's expression was devoid of emotion. "Nala? What does her situation have to do with me?"

On the other end of the call, Yvonne was already sobbing. "I'm sorry, Felix! Please, I'm begging you to save Lady Nala. She's abroad and can't handle this on her own. I'm begging you!"

But Felix remained indifferent. "I refuse. Yvonne, don't forget-it was that woman who first took away your happiness and then sent you to your death. Is she really worth it?"

and "She is! Without Lady Nala, there wouldn't be me! Fine, I get it. Just help her this once, I promise to leave Caraville immediately. I won't bother you again, ever."

Felix sighed. He knew agreeing now would break Yvonne's heart. But he had no choice- Madam Spring's artifact posed a deadly risk to him. He could only act harshly to completely sever Yvonne's hope. Over time, she would heal and eventually find her own happiness. "Fine, I'll go check the situation. But if it's too much, don't blame me for walking away."

Time passed, and Felix found himself standing outside the door of a suite in a five-star hotel in Azuria. Two men in black stood guard, their cold, intimidating stares enough to make passersby avert their eyes.

Felix appeared in the hallway. The two men initially dismissed him as a random passerby, but he stopped right in front of them.

"Get lost, punk!" one of them barked.

Felix frowned. With a casual wave of his hand, the two men were sent sprawling to the

ground.

He knocked on the door. After a moment, it opened, but no one was there. Walking further in, Felix finally reached the living room, where Nala sat on the couch, still wearing her veil. Her composed demeanor betrayed no hint of someone being held captive. "Well, since you're fine, I'll be on my way.

A flicker of displeasure crossed Nala's face. "Do I look fine to you? I may be well physically, but that doesn't mean everything is fine."

Felix sat down across from her, his voice icy as he asked, "Another one of your staged performances? Do you think this is fair to Yvonne?"

Nala let out a mocking laugh and picked up a glass of water from the table.

"Yvonne is mine. I promised you I'd let her find happiness, so I won't intervene with

whoever she wants to marry. But in every other aspect, I call the shots. Besides, I really am in danger. Is asking for help a crime?"

If not for his promise to Yvonne, Felix would have left without a second thought.

"What's the situation? Who's holding you captive? Spit it out-I don't want to spend another minute here."

Nala didn't seem bothered by his evident dislike.

"You've already taken out the bodyguards. Reinforcements will come soon. What's the rush? Felix, one day, you'll fall in love with me," she said.

"Fall in love with you, my ass!" Felix snapped, unwilling to entertain her nonsense. "Those two worthless bodyguards? With your skills, you could've handled them easily. Don't tell me this isn't all part of your act."

Nala shot him a cold look, her voice tinged with disdain.

"You're unbelievably naive. This is Azuria, not Dragonia. The person who can hold mè captive here-do you have any idea how powerful they are in Azuria? Taking down those two guards solves nothing; it only escalates the situation. Do you get that?" Felix didn't bother responding, but Nala clearly wasn't finished.

"You're right to keep your distance from Yvonne. Because once you fall in love with me and I become your woman, Yvonne will naturally belong to you as well. The only difference is that she won't be sharing the same bed with me while serving you." Her shameless words were utterly brazen, so much so that Felix wished time could fly by just to escape this moment.
