Chapter 623

To be honest, Felix was truly taken aback.

The Crayden family was one thing, but the fact that Nala could compel the Elders' Council to compromise was rather surprising.

"Do you know why the Elders' Council wants to kill me?" Felix asked.

Nala answered candidly, "I don't know. It doesn't matter."

Felix turned to the middle-aged man. "Are you really from the Elders' Council?"

The middle-aged man, Noah Reed, grinned, as though Felix were nothing but an ant in his palm. If it weren't for Nala, Felix might have already been a corpse.

"Do you doubt my identity? Didn't you kill Dexter Grimshaw and Solomon Gill? And that little fireworks display in Azuria was quite unexpected. Do you think you can pull off something similar here in Dragonía?" Noah's knowledge of these events was proof enough of his association with the Elder's Council.

Despite his irritation at being ignored, Tatum Crayden, the Crayden family's Third Elder, didn't dare voice his displeasure. It wasn't only because of Nala but also because of a recent incident.

The Elders' Council that was formed by the Eight Great Martial Families had recently been forced to rebrand as the "Ancient Council" due to a mysterious individual's threat. Who could guarantee there was no connection between that and the Elder's Council? Felix smirked, utterly unfazed. He had underestimated Nala. Apparently, she even managed to earn the Elders' Council's favor. Considering their hatred for Gerald, it should have been impossible for them to relent. What could she have done to sway them? "Have you figured it out?" Nala pressed. "Your talent and potential can only truly flourish if you're with me. Otherwise, your achievements will be limited."

Felix chuckled and shook his head. "Thank you for going to such lengths for me, but I'll walk my own path. I don't need anyone holding my hand. Do you really think those two pieces of trash are enough to contain me?"

Nala frowned. To her, Felix's words were pure bravado. These two had achieved Oceanus Realm, while Felix was, at best, in Aetherial Realm. Was he bluffing for his pride at the cost of his life?

"Felix!" Her voice was sharp. "Don't think I won't turn and leave right now, I admire you, and I need you, but that doesn't mean you can manipulate my thoughts."

As if agreeing with her words, the energies of Noah and Tatum surged. Their Oceanus Realm-level power crashed toward Felix like a tidal wave. It was as if they were silently telling him to stick to his arrogant behavior, for he would be dead in moments. "Well, I've met you as you requested, so I hope you'll keep your word, Lady Nala. Don't bother me again. Whether I live or die has nothing to do with you, right?"

Nala gritted her teeth in frustration. To her, Felix's rapid growth had gone to his head, a dangerous mix of luck and strength that left him overconfident.

"Fine! I was wrong about you. We're leaving!"

She turned to leave, but Yvonne remained rooted to the spot. "Miss, I—"

Before she could finish, Nala shot Alfie a glance.

Alfie stepped forward, lightly brushing his right hand across Yvonne's neck, rendering her unconscious. Slinging Yvonne over his shoulder, Alfie followed Nala without a backward glance. "Felix, your choice is exactly what I was hoping for."

Noah sneered, cracking his neck.

Looking at Tatum, he said, "Feel free to take him down. I just need to bring his head back as proof."

Why bother himself if someone else was willing to do the work?

Tatum spread his hands. "Fine. I'll handle it."

To them, Felix was just a prey they would eventually divide. It didn't matter who got to it first. Today's Bonus Offer
