The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
With Husband 624
Chapter 624
Noah had a clear perspective on the situation. Back in Azuria, the Elder's Council had sent two martial artists at the peak of Aetherial Realm to kill Felix. The outcome, though unexpected, ended with both being wiped out by missiles. That outcome alone proved a point: Felix wasn't their match, which was why he had to resort to such desperate measures.
Since he was facing someone of Oceanus Realm, could Felix possibly escape alive? There was no way, especially now that Nala had walked away. It left him with no hope of survival. The outcome was set in stone.
Just as Tatum was about to make a move, his phone suddenly rang. The ringtone was unique, reserved specifically for calls from the head of the Crayden family. If possible, it had to be answered. This was the rule.
In the Crayden family, aside from the First Elder, all other elders were bound by the head of the Crayden family's orders. It was written in their ancestral laws. Otherwise, the head of the family would be nothing more than a figurehead, and the family would never thrive. "Hold on. I need to take this call," Tatum said.
Leaning against a stone pillar in the square, Noah burst out laughing. "That's right. Taking calls is important."
Pausing a fight to answer a phone call seemed like the ultimate insult to Felix. Hence, Noah laughed at the absurdity of it.
However, Felix didn't care. His mind was preoccupied, still trying to figure out what Nala had done to persuade the Elder's Council to spare his life.
Neither of them noticed the change in Tatum's expression as he listened to the call. His face shifted repeatedly, and his mouth was slightly agape, as if he'd just heard something utterly unbelievable.
When the call ended, he pocketed his phone and walked toward Felix.
"This mission turned out to be surprisingly simple," Noah said. "I won't even need to lift a finger." He yawned, already imagining the nap he'd take once this was over.
However, to their surprise, Tatum suddenly dropped to his knees.
About five yards away from Felix, he said, "Mr. Zeller! Please forgive my earlier disrespect. The head of the Crayden family deeply regrets his actions. If you are willing, he will personally come to apologize to you. Axel Crayden also humbly begs for your forgiveness." Noah froze, blinking in disbelief. He even rubbed his eyes, wondering if he was seeing things. "What's this?" he asked. "Are you not planning to avenge Malcolm anymore?"

Felix was curious, too, as he had not anticipated the turn in events. Just moments ago, they were raring to go, and now, a single phone call had changed everything. Given that Axel was part of the younger generation, there was no way it was his decision alone. "Malcolm offended you, and that was his own fault. He deserved to die! We've realized we're no match for you. Going against you would only bring disaster upon ourselves. If you're still angry, you can take my life instead.
With that, Tatum closed his eyes, ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for his family. He was mentally prepared for it. After all, Felix was so terrifying that even Uzziah- "Interesting. Get lost, then. If the Crayden family bothers me again, I won't be so forgiving.
If it had been in the past, Tatum would've been dead already. Felix would also have gone after Augustus and anyone else involved. However, Felix couldn't be bothered to do that
now.
He'd already shed too much blood over the Polaris issue. On top of that, Gerald had always reminded him to tread carefully between a healer's compassion and ruthlessness.
"Thank you, Mr. Zeller!" Relieved, Tatum disappeared without a trace.
Meanwhile, Noah slapped his own face in disbelief. "Well, I'll be damned! I can't believe he's from one of the Eight Great Martial Families. What a joke! Big talk but no action. I guess it's up to me to finish the job, then." He smirked and crooked his finger at Felix. "Come over here. It's time to die."
